While a July Direct would be pretty nice, it would be kind an odd Direct schedule for this year. Normally, the Direct schedule (not counting Mini Directs) is:
February
June
September
But this year, if the schedule was like this:
March
April
???
It's different then usual, but I suppose it works.

I want to believe Nash Weedle is right about this, because obviously I would love a direct this week, but I don't know if I trust it just yet.I will say it does feel like everything is pointing to it, but I just don't want to get my hopes up.
The most I see happening this week is Partner Showcase, it fills in 3rd party gaps (it's looking very barren regarding the future of Switch 2 3rd party support) while not distracting from DK Bananza.
I do question where Prime 4 fits in all of this though, I thought Prime 4 Direct last week would've fit best but with that not the case so maybe Prime 4 Direct the last week of July with a late September release date? Unless the game's releasing in November, time is running out to announce a release date.
i really hope we get a direct this week (would be such a good news) but i lwk dont think we will get a big one until late july, after mario party dlc and DK. maybe the 31st? and as grumblevolcano mentioned above, the prime 4 situation is rather confusing. but heres hoping nash weedle and all the other rumours are right’

It would be similar to the post-Switch 1 direct where they reminded everyone what was coming up but had very little new.
Yeah I’m not expecting a bunch of new announcements, I feel like Nintendo might save some of it for a potential September Direct or Mario 40th Direct.
I also don’t think there’d be Switch 1 games there, aside from Switch 2 Editions and maybe free updates. I think that’ll be saved for Nintendo Today announcements since there probably aren’t many left
I would have thought that was likely, but with some announcements coming via the Nintendo app recently, it feels hard to predict.
I get why they wanted Bananza to get it’s own Direct, but not sure why they wouldn’t have waited for Splatoon Raiders or Drag X Drive release date for a Direct if they were going to have one. If Nintendo wants a Switch 2 edition about every month (Zelda in June, Jamboree in July, Kirby in August, Pokemon in October), then I’d guess Prime 4 would be in September (and Pikmin 4 in November/December), and if Prime 4 is in September, I’d imagine we’d get the announcement soon whether or not in a Direct
One interesting note about the direct rumors is that Nate the hate has said multiple times he doesn't know anything about a direct this week. Doesn't make it a surely false thing by any means, but does make it less likely imo.
I'll believe this one when Nintendo announces it, doesn't feel like it's time for a Direct with all of the social media drop announcements and a Pokemon Presents announced weeks ago for the 22nd. My guess is we're waiting for September for the next full fat Direct.
maybe itll be thursday and announcement tmrw? nintendo can you be predictable for once 🙁

Not many folks here experienced this due to most of the gamers here are young millennials, Gen Z and younger but I missed the days when games were announced at least a year in advance in gaming magazines and receiving an issue of Nintendo Power is like watching a Nintendo Direct each month to see the latest information, screenshots and interviews on upcoming games. Back then waiting for a major release felt really special, I remember the hype of waiting for Banjo Kazooie, Paper Mario, Pokemon Gen 1 and 2 and Zelda Majora’s Mask. It just doesn’t feel the same anymore. Not sure if it’s because I’m an adult now or it’s because everything is now on the internet.
@Don I'm kinda glad that they no longer announce games super long before they release. It's how we got the mistake that was the Final Fantasy Versus 13 reveal.

@VoidofLight, kind of off topic, but I just want to say that your new avatar looks cool!
As for the Direct situation, I do think we'll get a Metroid Prime 4 Beyond release date for September very soon, and then the other games coming out this winter getting more details in the usual September direct. But I often get predictions wrong, so I'm not a good source when it comes to predicting Nintendo Directs! 😂

I feel there has to be at least a partner direct this summer for games like FF7 remake and silksong. Maybe August like last year.
Prime 4 deserves its own deep dive direct like DK got, so perhaps that will happen July/August and then Prime will get a September release, leaving the late 2025 and early 2026 schedule to the September direct.
Probably means nothing, but a few hours ago, the official Pokémon X / Twitter account posted about Pokémon Black and White. Would anyone like a remake of these games?
I certainly wouldn't mind that since I never had a DS and, because of that, I've never gotten the opportunity to play these games, which I've heard a lot of good things about, yet!

Well I guess tomorrow is probably the last chance for anything to happen for a while. Not expecting anything though (I fear I may have been right to be skeptical of this rumor).
