This is something I've thought of for quite a while, what I would most want from Nintendo during this generation. Nintendo was almost comically good at times at giving me what I want for much of the Switch era, to the point that I'm worried this could be a semi-accurate prediction thread (I'm joking, probably). Especially after Kirby Air Ride 2 being announced. This is just me putting out what I think would be cool for me and/or everyone for Nintendo's lineup across the next 7 years.

I bet this thread is useful to no one, wheeeee

Mario: Mario Odyssey 2 (yes there is more to with Mario Odyssey, I reject all opinions that say otherwise), Mario Wonder 2 (doesn't have to be this exactly, but obviously keep up the creative vibe of the last game), ideally a 2nd 3D Mario as well, Super Mario RPG 2, Super Paper Mario remake and any new Paper Mario that can pick a genre and understand why that genre is good and liked by people, unlike the turn based RPGs that don't want to be RPGs because reasons. Partners in Time remake that actually changes things, it deserves a second chance, Mario sports games that have a variety of content people actually like on day 1.

Zelda: Next open world Zelda to be a mix of BOTW, Wind Waker and Assassin's Creed 4, the one after that to be darker and more story heavy, a more traditional Zelda in between (either a new 2D one or as a standalone expansion to one of the open world games), and for Age of Imprisonment to not be cowards about the story continuity this time. I should play Echoes of Wisdom so I have an opinion of that game and if that style should continue.

Metroid: Prime 5 eventually, Prime 2 and 3 remasters on the level of the Prime 1 remaster, Metroid Dread sequel but with good music this time, part of me would also be interested in a new Hunters or a Super Metroid re-imagined as a Prime styled game

Fire Emblem: Don't particularly care about this series, but they should obviously remake FE4 soon enough right?

Pokemon: Take your sweet time with gen 10, look to the HD-2D remakes for how to do Pokemon B/W remakes, keep Pokemon Mystery Dungeon alive or anything that isn't ports of f2p mobile trash

Xenoblade: Warriors spinoff but otherwise take a break, let Monolith Soft make a new IP

Punchout and Arms: One of them should come back, the other should cameo in that game

Astral Chain: I will be very sad if they don't get to have a chance to fix the only two major problems with the first game (broken score system, mostly boring characters) in a sequel. I have no idea if they should go to Platinum anymore for that or not tho.

Star Fox: You could've just stolen ideas from Crimson Skies or Rogue Squadron 20 years ago, why is it so hard, just make a good, creative video game people like? You could just do that Nintendo. Or just Zero but without the dumb decisions you made with Zero.

F-Zero: Come back, but not soon, too much Nintendo racing competition, it'll be 2003 all over again. I also feel like it would be cool to have a Captain Falcon spinoff where its like a beat-em-up, that feels like a thing that should exist.

Pikmin: Please don't turn Pikmin into another game of "more and more content for the sake of it", 4 has me worried about 5 for that reason, games are allowed to have under 30 hours of single player content.

Ring Fit Adventure: If there isn't a sequel within the first couple of years on Switch 2, I'll be shocked.

Advance Wars: Is still better than Fire Emblem, put out a new game, I understand people will probably find an excuse to not buy it like with the remakes.

Kid Icarus: Uprising remaster should be a thing, everyone wants it.

Super Smash Bros: Ultimate port, do a new fighters pass maybe, add Break the Targets or something, otherwise I don't care about a new one existing. Make a 3D spinoff a few years later if you want, sure, otherwise, just bring this one back and keep adding to it, we don't need a new one.

Animal Crossing: Just make the villagers interesting again and make it easier to load your town and I'll probably be happy tbh.

Splatoon: A sequel, and a spinoff. I have no ideas for these tbh. I guess, have less connection issues, that should be a priority.

Obviously on top of these, do original ideas that I wouldn't think of. I hope that wheelchair game is cool, even though Nintendo doesn't want to use the word wheelchair for some reason (and Mario Odyssey isn't about possession, sure Nintendo).

Also, remake the DKC SNES games and Golden Sun GBA games in ways similar to how they re-created the look of SMRPG in its remake.

Hypothetically? A Lost Kingdoms Double Pack (the From Software rpgs) would've slapped harder than The Duskbloods announcement did. Or how about Xenogears Remastered? Bring us back to the beginning. Punch-Out, anything Punch-Out, would've been nice.

And on a more personal note / side tangent, I'm surprised that Japan didn't get an announcement for a Konami published baseball game during their Switch 2 presentation. Japan loves baseball more than North America (Murica) does. I need a Switch 2 port for eBaseball Pro Yakyuu Spirits.

I have been wondering how long until Lost Kingdoms gets a second chance because of who made them. Another game that would be considered too valuable to ever put on NSO lol.

And I would love a Xenogears remaster, but I'd be the most interested in them actually going back and finishing Xenogears.

I've basically given up any hope for a good mainline Pokemon game at this point. I'm honestly not convinced that Game Freak have the ability to do so even if they did have all the time in the world.

Xenoblade: Warriors spinoff but otherwise take a break, let Monolith Soft make a new IP

I think the 'Xenoblade' series is probably just done at this point. Future Redeemed felt pretty conclusive. Hopefully we get a brand new 'Xeno' game of some description in the not too distant future that's just as good.

Punchout and Arms: One of them should come back, the other should cameo in that game

I don't expect it to happen but I'd like to see ARMS 2. The first game was close to being something great but was just lacking in a few areas. I feel like there's still potential there if they took another crack and fleshed it out more.

Astral Chain: I will be very sad if they don't get to have a chance to fix the only two major problems with the first game (broken score system, mostly boring characters) in a sequel. I have no idea if they should go to Platinum anymore for that or not tho.

I'd probably prefer the series got handed to different devs if it were to get a sequel. The artstyle and gameplay of the first game was top notch but I do think the lack of good story and characters kept it from reaching its full potential. It had a really interesting setting but it didn't go anywhere interesting.

Pikmin: Please don't turn Pikmin into another game of "more and more content for the sake of it", 4 has me worried about 5 for that reason, games are allowed to have under 30 hours of single player content.

I'm actually of the opposite view with Pikmin. I thought Pikmin 3 was severely lacking. I was actually surprised when I reached the credits as I felt like I was just getting started and returned my copy for a refund afterwards. Thought Pikmin 4 was a large improvement and I'd be happy for them to take it further.

Advance Wars: Is still better than Fire Emblem, put out a new game, I understand people will probably find an excuse to not buy it like with the remakes.

I'm one of the ones that didn't get the remakes. I literally had it preordered before the delay but my preorder got automatically cancelled and I ultimately lost interest well before it eventually released.

Kid Icarus: Uprising remaster should be a thing, everyone wants it.

It's one of my favourite games of all time but I was strongly against a Switch port as I don't think the controls would have worked. I think it may be possible now on Switch 2 with mouse controls. Would still prefer a brand new entry built for more traditional controls though.

This would be my perfect lineup. Not a snowball's chance in hell for all of this to happen, but this is my pie in the sky wishlist:

-A new 3D Mario game that's Bowser's Fury-style open world
-A Sunshine remake/reimagining that's open world with the areas of Isle Delfino interconnected instead of having random portals.
-A sequel to Super Mario Bros. Wonder of some kind
-Super Mario Maker 2: Switch 2 Edition with new styles added including Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder
-Super Mario Maker 3D which now lets you create 3D Mario levels. Available styles include Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy (which includes assets from both 1 and 2), Super Mario 3D World, and Super Mario Odyssey.
-A new Mario spinoff starring Rosalina that essentially serves as a Galaxy 3.
-A new open world 3D Zelda that's not a threequel to BotW/TotK. Not sure what I do want it to be, just surprise me with something new with a neat gimmick and most importantly, a new map that isn't copy/pasted from BotW.
-An OoT remake/reimagining with a larger, more BotW/TotK feeling Hyrule Field and a better storyline with more content in between Jabu-Jabu's Belly and the Forest Temple (that entire section of the game feels super rushed).
-ALBW remake/remaster. Not really sure what to add to this game, it's already amazing. But any new content would be appreciated.
-Gen 10 Pokemon game which is open world again and finally adds in level scaling. Also brings back diving, but this time you can freely swim through it rather than "press B to warp to an underwater map".
-Pokemon Legends Purple which is an open world Kanto game with a story focused on Mewtwo. Also massively expands the Kanto Dex to make it feel more like a modern regional dex.
-Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl: Switch 2 Edition + Sparkling Platinum. Adds Platinum content to BDSP and a few new additions, including expanding the Sinnoh Dex with Platinum additions, Hisuian forms, and cross gen evolutions, brings back the Platinum gym rosters, and adds a new post game story that brings back the Platinum story additions. Features a New Game+ mode for players that already completed BDSP to go back and replay it with the Platinum additions.
-Pokemon Legends Arceus: Switch 2 Edition. Not sure what to add here other than the missing Pokemon from BDSP, just add another 1 or 2 areas to explore with extra Pokemon and new Hisui variants and evolutions and this'll be great.
-A new Mystery Dungeon game of some kind.
-Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers DX (remakes of Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky)
-Return of Pokemon Ranger with mouse controls
-Pokemon Snap 3.
-Some kind of open world Splatoon game. Either make this the main gimmick for 4 or create a spinoff that's more 3D platforming/action adventure based.
-An Animal Crossing spinoff starring Tom Nook that's more of a tycoon-esque business management sim.
-A new 3D Kirby game that's 3D Metroidvania style like Great Cave Offensive in Super Star or Amazing Mirror.
-A remake of Kirby 64 that includes 4 player co-op with the ability to play as Waddle Dee (possibly retconned to Bandana Dee), Adeline, and King Dedede and Leaf and Water added with new combo abilities for them.
-Remakes of Kirby: Triple Deluxe and Kirby Planet Robobot. Ideally a two pack of both games (now that would be worth $80).
-Luigi's Mansion 4. I don't care what they do as long as it's bigger and better.
-A reimagining of Yoshi's Story done by Good Feel which includes storybook-themed level gimmicks. Also goes more 2.5D following on from Crafted World
-HD remakes/reimaginings of the classic Donkey Kong Country games in more of a Returns/Tropical Freeze style
-Metroid 6 where Samus gets more Metroid themed abilities like draining Energy from enemies and levitation abilities.
-Remake of Super Metroid with more recently added abilities (particularly ones from Fusion, Samus Returns, and Dread) and an overhaul of Maridia.
-A new Mario vs. Donkey Kong game more in the style of the first one.
-Captain Toad 2
-A new open world Star Fox game similar to Starlink: Battle for Atlas
-A new Wario Land game
-A sequel to Princess Peach Showtime where you can use the mouse to control Peach/Starla's ribbon
-Astral Chain 2
-A new gimmick game similar to Labo which focuses on a new keyboard peripheral, including typing minigames and other neat uses for a keyboard.

If we get even a quarter of this list, this would be an amazing lineup.

@Bolt_Strike Amazing list. I would love almost all of that.

I'm going to be sad if Peach Showtime and Captain Toad don't get sequels.
