Did I understand correctly what they showed was early development because it was done in a few weeks?

What was shown was likely the final product. You have to remember that the game looked worse on PS4 at launch. It wasn't fixed until it was made available on PS5 and XSX. Good thing the Switch 2 has PS4 Pro-like performance with PS5 load times.

@Magician Ah right ok now I understand. The fact it’s been available to play at the hands on Switch 2 events is a good sign of confidence.

The price is probably going up to $80 now (tariffs) but hey, good news is good news.

I'd probably get it when I finally got round to getting a Switch 2 as running it on my old gaming PC was always buggy as hell, I'd also be interested to see how it ran/looked on the handheld.

Does anyone know why this game isn't available for preorder in almost any store, even though the publisher has already confirmed the release date and even the size of the cart? Are they still waffling about the price of the physical release?

@Polvasti I was wondering the same thing. Got my Switch 2 and various accessories pre-ordered, but want to pre-order a physical copy of Cyberpunk. It's a bit suspicious and odd that it isn't available anywhere 🤔

Is the gameplay like the Witcher 3? I felt that was more like an interactive story rather than anything challenging. It was to much hand holding and telling you what you need to do in every moment to further the story. I want to avoid spending 70 quid on a game i won’t like

It’s ridiculous, but I’ve got this on Xbox Series X, PS5 and PC. Bought it three times and for various reasons I’ve managed to play a good 10 minutes of it.
I like the look of the S2 version, so clearly being an eejit, or as I prefer, an optimist. I will most likely buy it for Switch 2 as well, in the hope that one day, somehow, on some sodding platform, I’ll finally be able to play the damn thing.

@M67

There's not much challenge in Cyberpunk 2077, no. It's a narrative-driven experience. If you aren't in the mood for a Blade Runner-esq story, you should spend your money elsewhere.

@Magician I love the how cyberpunk 2077 looks. It’s incredible. Right up my alley. I played the Witcher three again during the last week to remind myself how that played. The combat was fun. It’s just a game design that doesn’t hold my interest. I wish they didn’t rely on quest markers so much. I would have liked if the game gave you info and then you use that info to figure things out for yourself rather than the game just providing constant directions on what you need to do next even telling you when to use the Witcher sense to reveal the path forward and leaving next to nothing for the player to puzzle out. There is so little room for player agency. I googled a lot about cyberpunk and it seems it’s the same? I really love how it looks though.

Performance discussions aside.

When or if anyone decides to actually get around to playing the game. I highly recommend you look to obtaining the pistol, Plan B. My personal favorite weapon in the game. Rather than using ammunition, it costs $1 every time you pull the trigger. Which sounds terrible on paper. But once you get to the endgame, your finances are basically unlimited.

That translates to you having nearly unlimited ammo for that pistol.

Amazing.

I thought Cyberpunk was supposed to be set in a fairly realistic sci-fi world (or at least the original tabletop RPG was, I haven't tried the video game yet). How does a gun that turns money into bullets work in a setting like that?

@Polvasti

Too much video game in your story-driven experience?

@Magician Nah, I'm just always curious how game-makers justify these kind of unrealistic mechanics in a supposedly realistic setting. Nothing serious, just a bit of nitpicking.

Looking forward to the game. Nice to have a space on a forum where you can actually discuss it. 😂

Preordering the double-dip on Cyberpunk 2077 before I order the console.

Feels good?

It is funny how CD Projekt Red was considered based for as long as I knew them, and then were the most humiliating company in the world in countless ways during the launch of this game, and now they have just continued to be based again. Just very weird how a company people loved did everything wrong possible, but all in the smallest period of time possible.

Just a reminder of how badly the game faceplanted at launch.

It's such a different experience now. Much improved since the 2.0 build release.

@Magician they stated they have been working on the port for a year and that specific demo was created 7 weeks prior to the showing. A lot of people got the wording mixed up.
