Topic: Nintendo Music App

Legends ZA’s music made me nostalgic for X and Y, so X and Y, along with Majora’s Mask and Luigi’s Mansion 3, are my guesses for the week.

Oh right, it's also spooky week. I don't celebrate it, so forgive the momentary lapse 🙃

I'll go ahead and add Majora's Mask to my guesses, in that case. I'm still mainly sticking with my Pokémon guesses though, especially since Nintendo already put out a Halloween playlist last week.

EDIT: Okay, major brain fart time... I just realized that both spooky week and the first anniversary are next week. Um, whoops. I still stand by my Pokémon guesses, but my Majora's Mask prediction you can push over to next week.

I'm predicting another Kirby Air Riders special release. Smash Wii U and Ultimate had their final game specific Direct about a month before launch so this week is a likely candidate for the 2nd Air Riders Direct.

If not, amiibo Festival.

Some more Kirby Air Riders special release tracks or Pokémon X and Y are my guesses for this week.

Think I'll go for either Super Metroid or Pokemon X and Y. Maybe my usual guess for Super Mario 3D World (it's my most wanted soundtrack for Nintendo Music). And just for fun, for next week, I'll go for Luigi's Mansion 3.

I'm gonna go with either Super Metroid or Majora's Mask.
Both have a sort of eery/spooky theme, but not to the extent of Luigi's Mansion 2 or 3 which I think will arrive next week

If we get an Air Riders Direct announcement today though I might rethink this.

I'm going to steer away from Pokémon and Kirby because it seems like Nintendo usually aren't using the app as a marketing tool for upcoming releases.
So I'll predict Luigi's Mansion 3, Metroid Dread or as a curve ball Mario Kart World for the 1 year anniversary of the app.

I still predict that they won’t touch the pokemon soundtracks that are currently available for sale on iTunes. (So everything from gens 1 to 7)

And this week's addition is... Metroid II: Return of Samus! It ain't no Super Metroid, but it's good to finally get another Metroid game.

The more ambient tracks have aged poorly though imo

I… never played this one.

I have dabbled in the 3DS remake and from the songs there, I recognize nothing.

For anyone unfamiliar, the main tracks that I'd recommend are the main theme, Escape, Depths 2/Metroid Propagation (they're the same song), and maybe the ending and some boss themes. The rest of the OST is just tracks desperately trying to create ambient sounds with beeps and boops.

The one time I don't guess a 90s Metroid game 🤣

Very special place in my heart for this so happy to see it safely land.
Biased as heck but I genuinely think surface of SR388 is one of Nintendo's most underrated pieces of music. I don't recall it ever getting reimagined in Smash Bros or Nintendo land.
Obviously the 3ds version has a version of it too but it's missing something for me.

Tbh this is the last Metroid game I would’ve guessed

Maybe they want to do the 2D games in order, so maybe the next Metroid will be super?

My suspicion is that they wanted to pad out both the GB library and the Metroid library in one stroke, both of which haven't gotten much new since the app's launch (GB got Tetris, Metroid got nothing). I can't think of a sane reason to release Metroid II before Super Metroid otherwise lol
