Think I'll go for Super Metroid this time. It's a good game to play during the month of October, lol. If they're not adding games that have haunting atmospheres just yet, I think I'll guess either Super Mario 3D World or Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
Going with my default guess of Super Metroid. I'd throw in my usual Majora's Mask too, but given the special release last week (three whole tracks yay) they may choose to follow it with something smaller.
@PikminMarioKirby
I can't see that happening before much of the other Paper Mario games, but Color Splash would be a very nice addition indeed. It's full of bangers!
I'm gonna go with either Pokèmon X & Y or Super Metroid.
Although it would be a bit weird to skip Sun & Moon if their pattern is anything to go by, but it's just one of those 'obvious' picks that make sense at this time.
The GameCube and Switch release of Thousand Year Door should be a fine time occupier in the meantime (The Switch version alone is now the longest soundtrack on the service at 13 hours and 55 minutes).
Hey, nice. I'm still waiting for the Switch 2 update for TYYD, so until then (and until I play and finish it), it's going to the spoiler prevention list - along with the original version, for good measure.
On that note, it's strange that the special limited selections for Kiby Air Riders and DK Bananza aren't in the search menu and can't be put in spoiler prevention (though I assume you can only listen to these tracks by going directly to them). It's probably because they aren't the final versions of these OSTs.
I've yet to play much of the remake (for partially stupid reasons not worth going into right now), but TTYD's soundtrack is in fact, peak.
I had the GCN one on an old MP3 player, when the hot new device was still an MP3 player. When Nintendo didn't have it so you had to listen to versions that sometimes had awkward sound fx because they were ripped from random people online.
My reaction when I saw the words "Thousand-Year Door" in my notifications, slightly exaggerated:
Formerly ShieldHero
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Pokémon Violet
2: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
3: Animal Crossing New Horizons
4: Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
5: The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
I almost forgot that I was saving Luigi's Mansion for October or that it was there.
Weird soundtrack to listen to on its own, I forgot how genuinely odd some of the music is. Probably because I don't think of the music much when I think of this game, barring a few exceptions, and some of it is overshadowed by the sound fx in-game. It would be really funny to tell non gamers I listened to some of these songs on my way to work today.
I'm a little late, but I've just finished adding things from this week's release to my playlist. This is by far the most songs I've added in a single new release since launch, with the Switch version of TTYD currently having the second-highest total of songs on my playlist, at 27 tracks. (The highest is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but that's untouchable at 70 tracks lol.)
I've only added four tracks from the original TTYD though. I actually don't think the original game had a very strong OST, despite my nostalgia for the game. The vast majority of tracks that I like in the remake I either didn't care for originally, or otherwise they didn't exist.
It seems that my prediction about them saving the October update for the anniversary was correct, it's the last week of October and anniversary week. I wonder what the update will entail? Hopefully there's something more exciting in there than the little they've promised, considering how ridiculously far in advance it was announced, lol. I can think of a lot of functionality upgrades that would make me happy, but that might be too much to ask for with Nintendo!
As for this week's prediction, probably something relatively big to coincide with the app's anniversary. Pokémon seems like it would fit the bill, it could double as a Legends Z-A tie-in. Specifically, I'll guess either Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl (the last remaining Pokémon OST not on iTunes or Nintendo Music), or X & Y (obvious tie-in). I'd prefer the latter not because I like it better, but because it would set a precedent for older Pokémon games getting onto the app, which might be my biggest sore spot with the app at the moment. Ideally we'd get both BD/SP and the original D/P/Pt in one update, but that's asking for too much following the TTYD release X-D
