Don't be silly. That $5 Mii costume is so big that Nintendo has to redo all their servers in anticipation for everyone downloading it

Well, as far as I know, anything that uses a NNID for anything will receive maintenance.

Does FS use them in any way?

Edit: it seems it's only the mode where you can get the flipnotes from a DSi account.

We'll almost certainly see the implementation of Club Nintendo's replacement. Also for those who don't remember Shigeru Miyamoto did state that the new rewards program would reward players for just playing games and reaching milestones so we could very well see the birth of the new rewards program, and technically a form of achievement/rewards system for most first party Wii U and 3DS games.
