The balancing patch must be what that twitter guy was talking about! Oh yeah! Bug fixes! General stability! Vague patch notes! Definitely the 9/10 hype he was talking about.
@IceClimbers:
I said I've heard many people including business professionals talk about Twitter's downhill march to irrelevancy.
Twitter stock has collapsed by over half, they just announced this week they are laying off 336 employees.
Twitter has also seen companies pull their social marketing due to the lack of "growth" on Twitter.
This lack of new users joining Twitter is very worrisome to the business community and investors.
For everyone person who loves Nintendo's digital events and directs, there is another person who equally hates them.
Like everything Nintendo does, it is quickly polarizing amongst gamers.
As much as like Nintendo, I'm no stranger to all the hate each decision including holding a semi regular Nintendo Direct garners a later of gamers (if not the majority) and the press (to the press' defense, they get wined and dined by all the other gaming companies and get tons of free stuff too).
The NPD Group defines a core gamer... See Nintendo isn't part of the "hardcore"/core gaming group according to NPD data.

@renaryuugufan92: Oh, I was suggesting that the Direct would be on Monday morning because the big maintenance is Monday afternoon/evening, with the Splatoon update and maintenance on Tuesday. Seems logically sound to me. I should point out though that if it does happen on Monday morning, it would be the first time a general Direct happened on a Monday.
The Wii U and 3DS maintenances now include "Nintendo Network ID" so in short you won't be able to access any online features.
DeNA taking over the online services???
I hope not, GameSpy was in charge of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, and we know what happened after it was acquired..
No one not named Nintendo will be acquiring DeNA. That said, I read a little more about their deal and it's not clear if DeNA is managing the new infrastructure or just creating it.
~sigh~ Fine, I'll look forward to Monday since that's when the maintenance is. But if nothing is announced on Sunday, then I'll say RogersBase is full of bologna. That other twitter post said we'd have a direct today, which is clearly not the case. So that person was full of bologna

DeNA will be involved in the creation of the new service, but Nintendo will still operate it. Iwata confirmed that in a TIME interview shortly after the service was announced.
