@NintendoByNature lol, you're making the right call. October demands zombies and vampires. How's dying light? I've heard the switch port is pretty impressive.

Give me a heads-up if you're going to send a request please.
I'm feeling maybe some Castlevania too. I need to play both Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia since I managed to get cartridges recently.
Otherwise, if I'm feeling autumnal, maybe I'll play through Pokemon Soul Silver again. Something about that game is so cosy and lots of places lend themselves to an autumnal feeling, I think.
Hang on to your youthful enthusiasms - you'll be able to use them better when you're older.
Times like this I miss playing World of Warcraft. Halloween in Forsaken territory felt so cosy.
I agree. Every Halloween I bust out my Forsaken Warlock and run stuff with him. My friends at the time played Alliance so I mostly just soloed on my Forsaken.
To be honest I enjoyed most of the holiday events WoW put on through the year my favorites being Brewfest and Halloween.
Ended up also starting RE4 lol. So im playing quite a few spooky games this Halloween.
Edit: @losermagnet so I've played about 4 hours or so of dying light. It's a pretty mixed bag for me thus far. I love the idea of there being an open world/do anything zombie game. But I'm just not thriving yet. The going anywhere part is all there, there's crafting, and weapon upgrades. However, I'm struggling to engage in the game. Alot of the world is pretty much the same from what I've seen, with only night time changing up the scene and enemy type. Which btw, I never go out at night because the enemies are way overpowered. I'm going to give it another 5 or 6 hours, and make my final decision. As of right now, I'm not fully into the game but alot of people love it, so it's probably just me honestly.
Some have already mentioned it already but I'm just going to double down and back up their claims. An amazing Halloween game (or even during any season) is Pumpkin Jack. Yes its not a very long game but I personally had a blast from beginning to end. Especially once I acquired the shotgun I was my own version of Schwarzenegger's "Commando" just blasting away everything Perfect Halloween game!
This fire is burning and it's out of control. It's not a problem you can stop it's Rock and Roll!!!
Started up Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water last night. Highly doubt I'll have it finished up by Halloween, but at least it's the perfect thing to get underway over this weekend.
EDIT: Also played through Metroid Dread over the past couple weeks, which I guess sort of counts (though it's not really scary at all).
Thinking I might do my yearly playthrough of Symphony of the Night for the month of October. If I get a chance, might squeeze in some Castlevania Bloodlines as well.

I started a tradition of playing through Luigi's Mansion 3, the latest Luigi's Mansion game, every October since 2020, so I'll start doing that this second half of the month. Not every playthrough is the same. One year, I might breeze through it, or in another, I might really struggle at one point (looking at you, Clem the mechanic ghost!) but it's a fun game to play through. I've usually spared Morty the movie director ghost but I've unfortunately decided to catch him this year...
If I have time, I might also play the original Luigi's Mansion on 3DS and an attempt at Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts.

Not something for right now, but I'll be playing Inside and/or Limbo for the very first time on Halloween night and I'm very excited. Dirt cheap, rave reviews and seem suitably spooky but not outright horrifying, cannot wait. My personal tradition for every year however would be to stick on some Halloween video game music via a Youtube compilation. Listening to those videos, especially when the decorations have been put up around my area, is just so damn cozy and I'd highly recommend others to do it as well!
@NintendoByNature@Dev9417 I've been wanting to do that myself with 3. However, it always seems to come at the worst possible time since I want to start it on Halloween, but its always sandwiched between the bonkers months that are September and November. Hopefully next year I'll finally be able to give it a go because I loved the hell out of Dark Moon.

@NintendoByNature I wish the 3DS remake was put on Switch instead because could you imagine being able to play both the original and latest game on the same system? All we'd need then is DM and we'd be golden!
As for the retro catalogue though, I'll probably play through Mad Monster Mansion in Banjo Kazooie again (one of absolute favourite levels from that game) since I need to renew my NSO EP subscription soon anyway. I wish Mario Party 2 could've come out this month so that we could get Horror Land just in time for Halloween (I mean yes technically it could come this month since its a vague '2021' but putting that out before 1 seems like a recipe for disaster).
