Which I always liked look back too this time of the year, I hope by recreating it it's not violating some rule which caused it to be removed.
Anyway this year I figured I will be playing the Castlevania Advance Collection on my Series X due to the great timing of its release. It's been years since I played Aria of Sorrow so I think I will start that and move my way to Circle of the Moon since I never played that game.
So what spooky games will you be playing this Halloween?

Yeah, probably the Castlevania Advance Collection. That's solid timing. I tried to play at least one vaguely Halloween-y game every year since 2014, but I don't think I did it last year (unless you count the Halloween event in Animal Crossing).
Also, Metroid Dread will probably unintentionally work for this, even if it only kinda sorta maybe counts.
If I were in your position, I'd save Aria of Sorrow for last. I think it would be more enjoyable to do it that way because of how much more polished Aria is compared to the previous two games. It may be tough playing them in reverse order since Circle and Harmony are a bit rougher in spots. That's just me, and if you think doing it in reverse order will work for you, then go for it. None of them are bad, though Aria is my favorite of the bunch among the GBA games. Definitely a good choice for a halloween theme.
I was thinking of perhaps playing a bit of Gargoyle's Quest 1 & 2. I played them around halloween a few years back, which was more coincidence than anything. Kind of the same right now actually.
Love the idea of this thread. Definitely playing advance collection atm. I'm also playing some LM3 with the little one. And if I finish circle of the moon or bravely default soon, I'll probably play dread and RE4 for Halloween.
@sdelfin I have played most of them before, I had the 2 in 1 GBA cartridge of Harmony and Aria years ago. I just never played CotM due to not having a GBA with a backlight. Dracula X I probably won't touch as it just feels like a basterdized version of Rondo of Blood.

I tend to replay either OoT or LttP in October. Not really for spooky day though. Sometimes I just beat my old save file so I can laugh at my death count from my childhood.

If you are responding to me in forums or a comment I would much appreciate it if you quoted or tagged me in your responses so I can see it and respond. Otherwise I usually can’t tell that you’ve replied. Thanks!
I like to play a spooky game at Halloween. One year I fired up Corpse Party. Took me months to pluck up the courage to carry on, but it was well worth it.
Shame Shin Megami Tensei V won’t be out in time for Halloween. Might go for something like Return of the Obra Dinn, which I’ve been meaning to get to for a while. Not horror, I guess, but empty ships on which everybody has died - that’s got to qualify for Halloween.
I try to do a run of either Dementium or Dementium II on the Nintendo DS each October. Last year I started a playthrough of Dementium II late in the month, so I will likely go ahead and finish that. October also generally is the month when I'm more likely to play more of the Metroid Series rather than just stick to Metroid Prime Hunters (and recently Federation Force). Metroid Dread is coming at the end of the week, but I kind of want to play Metroid Prime 2 as well as Metroid: Other M before the month ends.

I pretty much dabble in my entire horror game collection throughout the month of October. That includes, many Castlevanias and Resident Evils. I've got some fun ps2 horror games such as Evil Dead: Regeneration, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, and Silent Hill 2. There's some pretty great Switch indie 8bit platformers I've been playing as of late as well, Haunted Halloween 86, Halloween Forever, and Savage Halloween. Yes, I'm kind of obsessed with spooky games. Oh and I usually get some rounds in of House of the Dead 2 and 3 on Wii.
I usually don't get up to much, but this year I hope to start Luigi's Mansion 3 before Halloween rolls around. That'll depend on how soon I wrap up the BotW DLC I'm currently working on.
Currently playing: Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Ys Seven (PC)
@Tyranexx Same here with the DLC, I still need to finish the hardest part of it.
I was also planning to play Luigi's Mansion 3 like some of you guys, but I think that I'll play Metroid Dread first as I Have been waiting for it for literally years haha. Besides, the dreadful (😛) atmosphere of a Metroid game is quite fitting for Halloween.
I recommend anyone who has an interest in light spooks and very good existential sci-fi horror to check out SOMA, one of the more brilliantly written games out there and didn't need a 100mil budget to make the characters believable and the themes appealing.
