For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
@Veloster C'mon, man, you're a gamer. You should be the least image-conscious, especially since the rest of the world already views us as murderous psychopaths. What's the harm in playing a kiddy game? @GuSilverFlame Just you wait, just you wait...
I'm really running out of ideas for my signature.
I've got the power! The Hidden Power!
I used to run on blast processing. Now I'm 64-bit.
Currently playing: ARK: Survival Evolved, Splatoon I AM STILL NEAR-PERFECT!!!
Me, as a more grown-up Nintendo fan (I.e I'll play Zelda, but NOT Kirby or AC) can definitely understand why Sony, especially, do more successfully than Nintendo. Nintendo make far too many games which are, basically, rated 'U'.
This generation are more interested in stealing cars, killing and chaos - rather than dreasing a cartoon charcter up in a cute outfit.
I like Sony as a publisher, no, for the most part, they do not have that Nintendo charm, but Sony is willing to publish / develop titles from a multitude of genres (Gran Turismo, Flower, Uncharted, Killzone / Resistance, God of War, Sly Cooper, LittleBigPlanet. Motorstorm / Driveclub), they do best their to cover all the bases and attract a variety of gamers.
What if Nintendo dies?, well the two most likely outcomes IMO are....
A: They merge with another company, which is likely Japanese (or are bought out by), and they continue to develop / publish software, like SEGA did.
B: They go belly under, and they sell off their IP's like THQ did (EA takes Zelda and Activision goes for Mario), which would be a sad day.

Yeah, I get that; but it's not me being worried about what others think. It's more, me taking a look at myself and thinking 'should I really be playing this, it feels wrong'.
I mean, I still have a huge (£££) YuGiOh collection, and I'll happily tell anyone on the street that. However, If i was siting outside playing Kirby, I'd feel sooo awkward. So I guess I do care a bit about what others think; but it's definitely 90% a personal thing.

must be a personal thing nothing manlier than playing Kirby and not caring at all for what people think, plus Kirby is a "bad" guy
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

I don't think Sony cares that they were wronged all that time ago, they would love to have Nintendo be part of their first-party. I think Nintendo would go to Sony before MS as Nintendo games would sell Nintendo better on Playstation, much better. MS wouldn't be that good of a partner for the big N. Sony would work better than Steam or phones too.

Agree, plus Playstation has been the dominant Japanese home console since PS1 really, while Microsoft has very little influence on the Japanese gaming market.
I would buy up all the VC games I have been meaning to try and likely die of old age before I got bored of them all.
Assuming of course VC works after they go under and whatnot.
Granted, I don't think Nintendo is ever going away 100% in my lifetime. If anything they scale back to portable only and just roll in a big pile of money for the next few decades.

Meanwhile Pokemon is still selling millions of copies. And Sony being much more successful than Nintendo? Have you actually been keeping up with them?

Well if Nintendo dies off, I would keep on tablet gaming and playing the remains of Nintendo, I don't plan on getting a PS4 or xbone and I don't have the best computer or wifi to go playing steam games.
If nintendo dies, gaming dies. Period. No biased BS here, no fanboyism, Nintendo games are the ones that gave meaning to this bussiness, seeing some developers and everyone else making fun of them is like insulting your mother for being too old.
If nintendo dies, i'm getting a retron 5 and forgetting the rest.

Let's be real here, the day Nintendo stops making hardware is likely going to be close to the time that both Sony and Microsoft have left the console market as well. Nintendo might be in what I like to call an "identity crisis" but Sony is much worse off since no one buys there electronics as much as they used to, they are moving into streaming services from a cloud which could lower the costs of triple AAA games due to a lack of manufacturing physical copies, and Microsoft is looking into making an entertainment system that is becoming less and less video game focused. Games will still be made, but I doubt in a physical copy. The day Nintendo dies, I think it'll bring console gaming with them. Sure their IP's might survive in some form, but I think they'll be on PC's. This saddens me because I see digital gaming as renting and don't do it unless it's indie titles or vc's when i'm down to just spend a few bucks playing a game for awhile. So when physical media is dead within the gaming world I will become a purely retro gamer and collect for consoles and make sure to become tech-savy enough to repair my consoles.
If Nintendo dies, then the other companies will have a chance to finally sell their handhelds.
Friend list is full, I will be clearing room for Bravely Default soon though. Colors! 3D Gallery, My Blog

I can't help but agree with the statement of Nintendo's death also being the demise of gaming as we know it today. Like it or not, they were the company that played the biggest role in bringing video games back from the brink during the infamous crash of 1983, and were pioneers in driving the industry forward to new hights.
I don't believe video games would go extinct without Nintendo, but there would certainly be much less variety with FPSs already having a huge grasp of the general public.
I dunno. I can't afford a PS4 or One. I'd probably keep playing Wii U games and buy the titles I don't have for it. Then move down to Wii and GameCube gems I never picked up.
In the end, I'm a gamer and I want to have a hand in developing games in the future, so I wouldn't stop gaming or go retro completely. I'd likely buy Sony gaming consoles since I started off with a PS1 anyway.
If Nintendo ever did leave the industry, I know I'd be sad because even though I grew up with Sony (handhelds were always Nintendo and my first Nintendo console was the Wii), Mario and Zelda always had some kind of magic to them Crash Bandicoot and Lara Croft lacked. Nintendo is an icon. I'm sure the gaming industry as a whole would take a hit.
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite
