Just got Bayonetta 3. Only about an hour in, but it's a good time so far.
Of all games, that's the game I've most wanted a demo or trial of because I can't even slightly guess whether I would love it or absolutely despise the combat.
I'm currently focusing on clearing my backlog on Playstation devices and so far this week I have:
Finally finished and platinumed Scars Above - Some people tend to dislike it for the clunky combat and bad animations or facial features but I actually adore that game. Love a whacky alien story.
The Walking Dead: Michonne - Not as good as the other Telltale TWD titles but still enjoyable and rather short
One Piece: World Seeker - Man. I was really excited to start a One Piece journey but World Seeker ain't it. The combat is just clunky and while the story references a movie a lot because of the Dyna stones it's just bad...
@Tyranexx lol granted, I'm doing 2x exp in the pixel remaster, but yea. It's really early on in the game no? Now you have me wondering if I'm mistaken and imagined it all 😂. I sort of just stumbled upon that forest by ancient while doing sabins section.
@NintendoByNature The 2x XP is probably it; I had to do some grinding more than once, don't recall doing much of it quite that early though. It was more in the second half.
@Tyranexx yea could be. That exp boost is a godsend honestly. I don't have much time as it is these days, so any way to shorten grading is a massive win in my books.
@NintendoByNature@Tyranexx Its been awhile since I played that game but isnt that one of the branching paths that you can play in any order? If so that would explain why its earlier in the game for some people and not others.

Playing Persona 3 Reload on Xbox/Windows. This is my first time playing through the game in full (having got about 5-10 hours into FES before dropping it), and I must say it's doing a good job relieving some of the issues I had going back to FES having started with 4 and then 5. I'm falling in love with this setting and its characters, and it's great to see this world brought to the standard that 5 established. That said, it's still a near-two decade old game at its core, and it still shows it in a few ways. Although combat feels as good as P5R, the dungeon(s) and social sim elements are relatively lacking.
Overall I'm expecting that I will enjoy this as much as 4, but not nearly as much as 5.
Lumines: Remastered on Switch. I need to practice this a bit more as it seems to take ages to play a game despite levelling up pretty slowly - I've only managed to get to about Level 22 or 23 but its taken me around 20-30m each game. I feel like I've been doing quite well and playing for ages then glance at the level and its at like 4 or 5! I'm not sure what the criteria is for levelling up - could be score, number of cleared blocks, something else? 🤷♀️ I think my problem is I'm playing it like Tetris and trying to build up blocks and clear with a chain, rather than just clear stuff as quickly as possible.
Hot Wheels Unleashed Series X. This looks great - the detail in the track is really good and the vehicles legit look like the toys they are representing. It's surprisingly unforgiving on Normal difficulty from what I've played so far. Falling of the track almost always results in finishing last and the physics takes a bit of getting used to - Top-heavy vehicles have a tendency to tip over if you take a corner too fast for example. The microtransactions are pushed pretty heavily as it encourages you to basically collect everything (much like real life Hot Wheels I guess), but I think it is possible to play just fine without spending any more actual cash as you can win 'blind boxes' in game which give you new vehicles. I think I must've bought the Ultimate Edition or something as I seem to have access to some DC superhero stuff and also Looney Tunes content too which I doubt was in the base game.
Zelda: Wind Waker HD for the first time ever, since I remember ragequitting the GC version as a child at the very beginning of forsaken fortress due to the stealth gameplay.
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass as a replay.
Zelda: Tri Force Heroes with 2 friends locally, which is a blast.
I’ve been hopelessly playing Persona 5 Royal on switch since I got it on sale in December. Still going through my second playthrough, I just can’t put this game down it’s so good
Oh yeah, I’ve also been playing Persona 3 Reload on series s but I kind of suck at it lol, definitely a different experience compared to Portable
@DreamlandGem That's one of my favorite Kirby DS games of all. Plus, it does have a few difficult levels here and there. I do plan on buying it again but I'm going for a import version. Since Kirby games are very easy to play even if it's in japanese.
I sell my famous Chesapeake Tupperware.
I ACCEPT NO DEBIT CARDS!
DO YOU HEAR ME!?!
@DanijoEX-the-Pierrot That's what I've just done, picked up a copy in Japan I translated the cutscenes/tutorial with Google Translate camera lol, as you said the rest is easy regardless of language
I'm shocked at how good it is so far, feel like I don't see too many people talk about it
I'm playing Dragon Quest 3 for the GBC, and I'm a little worried about its length. I'm not the best at sticking with longer games, and I think the lighting and saving limitations of the GBA are getting to me. I loved the first and second, but a few substantial chunks of gameplay were really all that was necessary for those games, but here I'm kind of in it for the long haul. I enjoy the game when I play it, but I really don't want this game to stretch for months on end. (especially since I think Unicorn Overlord might hook me in and I don't really want to let DQ3 fall by the wayside)
Can I do a completionist run of video game history? (It's still being made so we'll see)
Currently Playing: Unicorn Overlord (Switch)
Next Up: Sand Land (PC)
Panic (Reality)
