The movie, or the show? I haven't seen either, but I heard the movie was horrendous (from most people, and also some critics, both of whom I tend to disagree with) I and I heard it was good from some people I actually trust, who haven't seen the show.

Anyone else watched/watching Weeds? We're all up into Season 4 or 5 already by now, and it's freakin' hilarious. It's a Showtime series, so it's got all kinds of adult themes and whatnot, and it focuses on a woman who deals pot in order to support her family after her husband died, but damn is it good.

The movie is awful, period. Not only does it kill everything about the show but it doesn't even tell a competent story. I honestly can't see how anyone could like it. The show, however, is fantastic. WATCH IT.

Just to tell you how bad the movie is they dont even call it Avatar: The Last Airbender right there I should have known it would be awful.

That is a promise. Go stream.

Done!

I also have to second the Avatar recommendation.

I believe Quantum Leap is available for instant streaming. This was one of my favorite shows when it first came on TV.

24 is another great series with all but the most recent available to stream.

Also, for another gaming recommendation, there's three seasons of The Guild.

Movies

Christine — A Stephen King and John Carpenter Movie. Can't wait for a remake.
Yojimbo — I'm surprised how ahead of his time Akira Kurosawa was. Go watch Seven Samurai if you want more.
Seven Samurai — It's 3 hours long so I'd watch Yojimbo first to see if you'd like it.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest — If you've ever spent time in a padded room you know how accurate this movie is.
Surrogates — Catch a glimpse into your future.
Ninja Scroll — Everything you'd expect from an anime, except robots.
Ghost in the Shell 2.0 — Robots.
A Nightmare on Elm Street — Johnny Depp.
Hatchet — A contemporary slasher!

TV

Robotech — 85 episodes of Robotech. The first 35 are pretty good.
Arrested Development — Incredibly funny sitcom.
Doll House — If you like Joss Whedon you might like this.
News Radio — More sit comedy. I really miss Phil Hartman.
Futurama — If you like the Simpsons and you like sci-fi, chances are you've already found this.
Shark Week — Real people, real sharks, real gruesome.
Future Weapons — Destructive and educational.

Documentary

Beer Wars — See big business do everything it can to keep consumers interested in buying their inferior products.
Beavers: IMAX — Who doesn't love beavers? If it's you, maybe you'll change your mind after watching this 30 minute movie.
Battle of the X-Planes — Awesome competition showing how outdated American aircraft are becoming.
Modern Marvels: Monster Trucks — Explore the origins of the Monster Truck!
Bigger Stronger Faster — Learn more about the wacky world of steroids in competition.

Gaming

Karas — Now's your chance to see who the hell that guy in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is.
Street Fighter II: Animated Movie — I think the title says it all.

Ah nice another fan of News Radio. That really was a super funny show, that flew under the radar. Phil Hartman, Andy Dick, Joe Rogan, and Dave Foley really made that show great. I still laugh when I watch that show.

with netflix on the 3ds I bet this thread will just get more and more useful.
It's becoming more and more of a task to hunt down the good movies in watch instantly, and I just found one in Seventh Moon. You should watch it if you like scary movies.

The original versions of both Black Christmas and My Bloody Valentine are on watch instantly too and they're both really great.

And we're still working our way through The X-Files.

And finally I'm excited to see the movie Daybreakers available now, about the future where vampires are the majority and blood is hard to come by.

I just saw the the umptheenth time The Man in the Iron Mask which you can stream now with Leonardo DiCaprio, and I have to say if you havent seen it you should. Leo was ok but it was the other actors like John Malkovich and Jeremy Irons that made this movie. The final fight in the move was really good too.

BLESS you for recommending this. I laughed until I puked. Well, almost. Seriously man, I owe you one

Sorry, I didn't see this comment until now! Glad you enjoyed it. It's just absolutely perfect. I seriously hurt myself laughing.

Speaking of which...

/me goes off to see if Netflix added any more MST3k to their streaming library...

I am now a hardcore MS3K fan thanks to you. I've watched just about every instant streaming episode, and even downloade some RiffTrax (if you haven't seen any of these, you're missing out. It's just the same group of guys riffing more current movies. Check it out. Now)

Oh, and here's some recommendations. Three incredibly under-appreciated classics.

Top Secret: Brilliant comedy. From the same director of Air Plane (I believe). A great Spy spoof that puts Austin Powers to shame.

Dial M for Murder: Stupid title, great movie. It's not Hitchcock's best, but it's still a very dark, suspensfull movie.

The Killing: Excellent film noir. If you're at all looking forward to Rockstar and Team Bondi's LA Noir you should check it out.
