@Themagusx1 I've played a couple of shorter VNs on Switch (those WoD games I mentioned previously), and I have played the free variant of DDLC. Wouldn't have touched the latter if I didn't receive a vague hint that it was more than meets the eye and was pleasantly surprised. Besides those two I've been highly encouraged by a friend to try the free first chapter of Higurashi lol.
Some games can be quite difficult to hunt down sometimes, but that's part of the fun IMO. Captain Is Dead sounds very interesting too, if not maybe a bit too direct for a game name. XD There are way too many decent board games out there...and games in general!

@Tyranexx Oh yeah some games are tricky to find, I have a board game called Merchant and Marauders, and it’s been out of print for almost a decade. So I a, glad to have that one. As for VNs, yeah DDLC was my gateway into visual novels, the free version. And now I love VNs lol. Any hoo I agree we live in a good age for gaming, all gaming…..I think 5e is the best edition of D&D imo. There are tons of great card games and board games, and video games we have so much choice in that department. I got a question, isn’t there some special about playing face to face, any board game, or even couch coop, compared to online gaming? I hope we can always have face to face gaming….
@Themagusx1 Merchant and Marauders sounds pretty neat too, at least going from the name. DDLC wasn't my first game like a VN, but I haven't played many...yet. Hoping to change that eventually. XD It's a very good age for gaming, shame I don't have nearly the amount of time I'd like to experience many that I genuinely want to play. I'll have to take your word on 5e since it's the only D&D edition I've played.
There's definitely something special about playing games face to face; there's more interactivity and engagement IMO. It even isn't quite the same with a video feed of others, though it does come closer.

@Tyranexx oh Merchants and Marauders is good stuff. Basically you can be a merchant or a pirate, and things like wars and stuff like that affect the game. It’s pretty complex but when you get it going it goes well. And being that 5e is your only edition of D&D, you started on a great one. As for VNs hopefully you will find some great ones.
And yeah face to face time is great with any game. I agree with you one hundred percent. Have you had any crazy face to face moments gaming?
@Themagusx1 Merchants and Marauders sounds like a mixture of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and the Civilization series in some ways. I'm sure I'd enjoy it even if the setup is crazy. A lot of people seem to like 5e, including a ranking of all editions I saw recently. Makes me wonder how One D&D will be perceived once it's been out awhile.
Crazy face-to-face moments? I've had some crazy times with my D&D group, and Cards Against Humanity is usually a riot wherever I play it. XD

@Tyranexx oh yeah Merchants and Marauders is good. I never played that Assassins creed, but if it’s pirate based they have a lot in common. Speaking of Board games my fiancé and I cleared out our room, and I found a bunch of my board games that buried behind some boxes. It was awesome cause now my collection is bigger than I thought. Found my copy Castle Panic, Lord of the Rings Mansions of Madness second edition and many others. I think you may like castle panic as a cooperative board game. It’s good stuff.
As for One D&D I have not looked at it but I am a bit of a fifth edition fan boy, that I a, not sure if I am ready for a new edition, but from what I hear that the next edition is compatible with 5e, so we will see. Have you looked into One D&D?

@Themagusx1 The protagonist in *AC4: Black Flag" is a privateer turned pirate. Part of the game's fun is raiding and pillaging ships and forts lol. More board games for the hoard! Does your fiancee enjoy playing them too?
I've looked into One D&D a little, but not in detail. Some quiet evening soon perhaps...though it might be a bit. I'm intrigued by what I have seen/read, but I'm very comfortable with 5e.

@Tyranexx Maybe I will give that AC a try. That sounds like a lot of fun actually. Yes she does enjoy board games as well. I got her Animal Crossing Monopoly for Christmas a couple years back and we enjoyed that one. Monopoly variants seem to me to better than the actual monopoly game lol. We may tomorrow night be playing Mansions of Madness second edition. Have you heard of Mansions of Madness?
I will have to look into One D&D. Is there a website I can read what’s been released on of One D&D?
@Themagusx1 I haven't played a ton of Assassin's Creed games, but Black Flag is my favorite. That Animal Crossing Monopoly sounds fun! Way better than the original anyway. Never been able to sit through an entire game. Mansions of Madness sounds pretty cool too. Never played that.
As for One D&D....I'd have to check again. Been awhile since I've looked into it. Chaotic week IRL so I'll have to get back to you on that one.

@Tyranexx I will have to give Black Flag a go sometime. Is it on Switch? The animal crossing monopoly was a lot of fun. It was fast and quick. Kinda like my sons fornite monopoly which while I don’t play the Fortnite game, I enjoyed the Monopoly game quite a bit. Mansions of Madness is cool. I own the original and second edition. The main difference is that second edition uses an app you download to your tablet or phone and you have to lay with the app and the app acting as a dm type. Where as in first edition you had one player be a dm type player. Have you seen any other board games that use apps?
Ok sounds good, I understand how crazy IRL can get hopefully you are not busy this week or is it still chaotic?
@Themagusx1Black Flag is on Switch as part of the Assassin's Creed Rebel Collection (along with AC: Rogue). Mansions of Madness sounds pretty fun; I'll have to look into it sometime. I've not played any board games that use accompanying apps, but the Jackbox Party Pack stuff I've played at work Christmas parties requires going to a website or app to play.
This week is very chaotic. A lot happening in the family. My sister is scheduled for a C-section today, so new baby on the way (and a lot of related activity + spoiling).

@Tyranexx That’s awesome. Congrats on the new addition to your family. I never played the Jack box stuff. Those are party games correct? Yeah I think you would enjoy Mansions of Madness. I also own the Fantasy Flight Lord of the Rings game and that uses an app as well. So that might be another one you look into.
@Themagusx1 Thanks! Some worries early but now both the new mom and new little guy are doing pretty well. Still hospitalized though. The Jackbox games are indeed party games. My manager has a Steam account. He barely has time to game these days. He mainly uses it for group functions and occasionally for his kids. Fantasy Flight LotR....Now THAT I might look into!

@Tyranexx Glad the new little one is doing good and so is mom. So the Jack box games are on steam then? I think they are on switch too? Yeah that LotR game rocks, it’s a lot of fun, I think it’s name is journeys in Middle Earth. What I need to do is post pics of my board game collection on. What do you think? But the other problem is I don’t know how to post pics on here lol. Do you?
@Themagusx1 They're doing pretty good, it'll just take time for my sister to heal since she had a C-section. The Jack Box games are indeed on the Switch as well as PC. Not sure about other platforms, but I'm sure they're elsewhere.
I wouldn't mind seeing an image or two of your collection! You can upload pictures to postimage, then embed them in [ img ] [ /img ] tags. Just with no space between the text and brackets.

@Themagusx1 I have. It is pretty easy overall. The nice thing about postimage is it allows you to set how long the picture can remain available. Plus it's free. I don't believe one even needs an account.

@Tyranexx So post image is a website? I will have to look into it if that’s the case.
Anyway I gotta dig out more of my games, so I can send more pics. If I can figure out how to do pics in the first place lol. Would you also like to see some of the insides of the games too?
@Themagusx1 Yep, postimage is a free image uploading site. I don't believe it requires making an account. The insides of the games are at your discretion. Depends on how unique they are I suppose.
