The DC book was deal good and set up some good stuuf. Has me of thinking adding Justice League to my pull. Atomic Robot was funny and now I'm going to get the trades. Daffy duck comical was nice and I've asked for the fantagralhixs Disney reprints for a birthday present.

Hey check out my awesome new youtube channel shingi70 where I update weekly on the latest gaming and comic news form a level headed perspective.
HUUUUUUGE week. Probably too large. Here's what I pulled:
Action Comics #9 All-Star Western #8 Animal Man #9 Aquaman #8 Avengers #2 Batgirl #9 Batman #9 Batman and Robin #9 Batwing #9 Captain America #10 Daredevil #11 Daredevil #12 Demon Knights #9 Detective Comics #9 Earth 2 #1 Fatale #5 Flash #8 Fury MAX #1 Green Lantern #9 Green Lantern New Guardians #8 I, Vampire #8 Justice League Dark #8 Swamp thing #9 Teen Titans #8 Teen Titans Annual #1 Voodoo #8 World's Finest #1
Still rockin' the GameBoy brick. Yes, I do believe it's portable. It fits in my satchel.
I just got the first three issues of All-Star Western. I'm expecting the other five issues tomorrow. So far, I love this comic. I can't wait to read the Night of Owls issue.
I got the new night of the owls issues (Batgirl was the best out of the three), and Green lantern #9. Really enjoyed the twist with the Indigo Tribe and I'm looking forward to the next part of the story.
FF6: Release year- 1994 Kefka's birthday - November 9th So.... my life is practically mirroring Kefka? Cool.
I actually went through a bunch of these (I have a great local library) along with a few others, but I haven't had much luck. Y: The Last Man was the best out of the bunch, but I felt it went downhill after the first volume. However, during my search, I did find 2 comics I'd be interested in: Usagi Yojimbo and Command Review. The former is a very successful comic featuring japanese culture and animal people (which makes sense since Japanese myths included some animal people), two things I really enjoy. The other was a mainstay comic in the same anthology that Usagi was originally published in, also featuring animal people, this time in a Sci-fi war situation. Both are different from what I normally read, which is usually lighthearted fair. Still, I'm willing to give them a shot, and while CR is short, Usagi would give me a lot to read should I happen to like it. Either way, I intend to grab both series on the cheap pretty soon.
As a bonus, I found two more comics I might be interested in (Katmandu, which I found the first 15 issues online, and Shanda the Panda, which I have been unsuccessful at finding so far) and 2 webcomics I might also like as well (Birthright from the creator of CR, which also takes place in the same universe from what I'm told, and Eureka, which has a similar premise to CR). Looks like I'll be busy for a while.
Ended up getting Usagi Yojimbo Book 1 and both issues of Command Review for $20 total (minus shipping). Also grabbed Shanda the Panda: Invitation to Dance, which contains issues 1-4 and a bonus story, issue 9 from the same seller, and won a $6 eBay lot conveniently containing issues 5-8 and 11, all OoP. I'll grab issues 10 and 12, which are still available from the publisher's website (somehow - they're extremely old), once I'm caught up. Katmandu is still available online, so I'll just read 1-16 and then either drop the series or start collecting from there. Also, I have Mega Man Vol 1 and Darkstalkers: The Ultimate Edition in my Amazon cart, waiting to be checked out. I'll likely get them in June.
It's been a very long time since I've been excited to get comic books. I'll start reading Usagi Yojimbo first, it seems the most interesting.
No prob. Personally I'm a cape guy my self but there are alot of good non superhero comics.
Indeed, though they can be mad hard to find.
And I used to like superhero comics, but ever since I found anime, I felt like they did super hero stuff better, and even then, I kinda out grew the genre outside of the very best, like GaoGaiGar, Dragon Ball, and One Piece.
Speaking of Anime, how long have they been showing anime at comic-con/wondercon? I actually want to go to them now.
Just want to chime in that The Boys is beyond excellent (of course, i am a Garth Ennis junkie, so i love all his stuff). But be advised that it's entering it's final story arc and the series will be ending shortly.

Well, I'm sure I'll try some of them out someday. Always been more of a Marvel man myself, though, back in the day. Anyways, is Transformers any good? You know, the one they have on Comixology by IDW that's simply titled Transformers? There was also another I was thinking of trying at some point, but I forgot what it was...
The transformer series is good and they've been on a new jumping point and there are currently 4 books.
Transformers more that meets the eye ongoing- Rodimus prime and friends going in search of the knights of cybertron. Transformers robots in disguise ongoing- about rebuilding cybertron
These two are in the way of the death of prime I think
Then you have transformer autocracy a weekly digital prequel series about the rise of Orin pax into prime and finally a new series which takes place in the G1 universe.

That's a pretty damn good list. I'm seriously loving Swamp Thing. I need to go back and give Animal Man another shot though because I've been hearing nothing but good things. I'm one of those shallow people who couldn't get past the art :/
I feel really bad, because I haven't been on here for weeks. But anyways, I have an idea. Beyond our usual weekly pick-ups, quick comments of issues, and recommendations, we should start having discussions about stories themselves. Current, yes, but classic too. In fact, probably more of the classic ones. This will keep this thread running and ultimately more entertaining.

...you know, that's what I always thought this thread was for, but seeing as it's an old TokyoRed thread, it may not have had a purpose at all. That sounds like the best thing to do right now. Too bad I can't remember the old DC or Marvel comics I used to read, or I'd chime in to help ya start. ^_^;
