Next month DC Comics will launch 'The New 52' which is basically a rewind reboot to the origins and beginnings of all of our favorites Heroes of Truth, Justice and the American Way! The reboot of sorts precedes the launch of the new DC Comics Block coming to Cartoon Network this fall which will be headed up the return of Young Justice and the premiere of Green Lantern The Animated Series.
I Interested in what's happening but, unless I can get them used I won't be owning them. Too expensive for me like I used too (Plus it would take up too much space). It used to be ALOT cheaper Waaaay back when I started collecting. Nowadays I like the Idea of owning digital collections of comics. I got around 70 ultimate xmen comics once for around 10 or 15 dollars? I also got my brother 300 or 400 spiderman comics on on cd and it only cost about $35. Much more affordable, easy to take care of, and takes up very little space.
I'm so behind on comics that I had not realized until recently that there was a character named Anti-Venom in marvel comes (and that happened 2 or 3 yrs ago maybe?) I've read some graphic novels from our library (though it's been awhile) and some free online one nowdays.
Anyways I'm interested in the Superman one for sure and the Wonderwoman. I interested in finding out what's going on with the Robin character. It seems that there'll be a comic with Batman's son as robin but, it still seems that Nightwing will have had a history of being robin too. Those are 3 main ones, I'd be interested some others too.
Nope. Smacks of utter desperation on DC's part IMO, as their sales constantly pale in comparison to Marvel books: "Hey, look fans, a whole bunch of #1 issues! Get on board NOW!" Some of the character re-designs are also pretty weak in my opinion.
As it is the only DC superhero titles i pick up regularly are Gothan City Sirens and Batman Beyond, both of which are cancelled (though Beyond is supposedly relaunching at some point in the future, but not as part of the 52).
I also collect Jonah Hex, so I will probably pick up All Star Western (the Jonah-oriented title that's part of the new 52), assuming that they don't drastically alter the series. If they do, it's dropsville for me.
BTW, the New 52, and the DC comics in general, don't really have anything connection to the animated shows being launched.
Green Lantern the Animated Series? My little bro (11) would love that!
From what I've heard Bruce Timm is somehow involved in the production of Green Lantern TAS.
@the_shpydar, actually there is quite a connection between the launch of The New 52 and the launch of DC Nation on Cartoon Network.
I read where one of the DC Comics representatives has said that The New 52 and DC Nation will serve as a way introducing the comic book heroes that parents grew up with to their children and will serve as a way of making comics more accessible to today's young people thus ensuring that comics continue to remain relevant, cool, trendy and don't go the way of the Dodo Bird.
However, with talk of a live action TV drama by the makers of Smallville based on Young Justice arising I've got to say no and here is why; Smallville became really disappointing for me after the first three seasons it basically became a teenage soap opera like most everything else on television. I don't want to see Young Justice go that way. I'm enjoying the animated Young Justice far better than I ever could have hoped to enjoy Smallville.

Well, yes, they are connected in that DC is trying to attract new members of their fanbase. I just meant that in terms of continuity, they are not connected.
On the abating flame of the disappointing cancellation of NBC's Wonder Woman TV show comes the news thanks to iO9 of the woman who might actually place her delicate feet into the Heels of Diana Prince.
Wonder Woman News!
Mad Men (and Firefly!) actress Christina Hendricks responds to Nicolas Winding Refn's statements that he would like her to star in his proposed new Wonder Woman movie:
Sure! I grew up on the TV show, and I had Wonder Woman Underoos, and my brother had a Wonder Woman doll - sorry, Aaron, you're exposed. [Giggles.] And Nicolas said, when we were on set [of Drive], "I want you to be Wonder Woman." And I think he is such an extraordinary and exceptional director, that if he asked me to do it, I would do it in a heartbeat...Hopefully the stars would align [for Wonder Woman]. It would be really fun. It would be cool, wouldn't it?
