Though I'd mention here, Geoff Keighley retweeted Nintendo's "Are you excited for TotK" tweet. Also, Doug Bowser made a jokey reply to one of Keighley's other posts. It's starting to make me think we might actually see something.
Still not gonna bet on it but I haven't seen Bowser get involved much so that makes me a bit more hopeful.
Games I'm playing right now:
Tears of the Kingdom - Switch
Nintendo better show up with TOTK at the Game Awards. We’ve had 3 trailers and none of them have shown what makes this Zelda game special. It’s been 6 years in development (the longest of any Zelda game) and it reuses BOTW world, so there must be some big twist on gameplay Nintendo is holding back on revealing. Besides, the viewership of the Game Awards was 80 million in 2020, much larger than that of Nintendo Directs, so the marketing team would be stupid not to bring big Nintendo's most high profile 2023 release to the show.
I think now's the right time for Metroid Prime 4, but that was probably true last year as well, so I dunno. I honestly don't need to see more of Tears of the Kingdom. It's BOTW2, unless reviews are shockingly underwhelming, there's almost no reality where I'm not buying it ASAP. Why do I need to see more of it, so I can be surprised less? I just wanted to let everyone know that if you go to steam.tv and log in with your Steam account, Valve is doing this giveaway where every minute of the TGA broadcast they’ll give out one Steam Deck. Just click the blue register button and have the show open on the website. That’s how I’ll be watching it, at least.
