I think Sonic Frontiers deserves to win it. Stray and GoW Ragnarok will win at least a few awards (e.g. Best Indie Game and Best Action Adventure Game respectively) meanwhile Elden Ring will likely win pretty much everything it's nominated for. Sonic Frontiers however wasn't nominated for anything.
I love sonic frontiers but tbh, they shouldn’t have put any ftp game in that list, Genshin is more accessible thing something like elden ring, and has waay more players, sonic fans didn’t need to attack Genshin the way they did tho, and now the site has overloaded due to Sonic bots, so that nice, now I’m. It gonna act like Genshin is stupid clean here, because they have there fair share of toxic things they do, but thanks to one stupid sonic fan the rest are gonna pay.
Sonic should have been in the music category, and they aren’t, for some reason. And like I said, if they had put something like Fortnite on the list, it again probably would have beaten everyone else out, same for Genshin, and again, there was no need to attack Genshin fans, and they have been hated on by many other community’s just for being anime and anime=Cringe, so I think Genshin players just kinda got sick of it tbh. Even having sonic sweep trend on twitter only to lose the lead hours later.
To be fair to Genshin, it's not like it came out in 2020 and that was the end of it. Rather, it's a ongoing live-service game that is continually having new content added. The Game Awards acknowledges these kinds of games with their own category, for which it's also a nominee.
Bearing all that in mind though, I don't think it's had a particularly great 2022. Sumeru is a pretty bland region and it's even worse for grinding and talky quests. Mainly, though, the Players Voice award mostly comes down to the size of the fanbase and how well it can get motivated.
I haven’t played that region yet, but my god have I heard how long the world quest is there, on top of that there character re runs were, iffy, I mean hu toa isn’t getting re run this year, and it to freakin got two re runs before her, somehow, and eula and shenhe need there’s soon, and don’t even get me started with yoimiya. But, I have been replaying it recently so I can save for hutoa, and despite the recent hate the new four stars have gotten, I love layla, she goes great with my shenhe.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside.

I edited a pfp! This one as hard, I had a lot of issues with it so I hope it came out alright.
Though I'd mention here, Geoff Keighley retweeted Nintendo's "Are you excited for TotK" tweet. Also, Doug Bowser made a jokey reply to one of Keighley's other posts. It's starting to make me think we might actually see something.
Still not gonna bet on it but I haven't seen Bowser get involved much so that makes me a bit more hopeful.
Games I'm playing right now:
Kingdom Hearts 2 - PS4
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - Switch
Ace Attorney Trilogy - Switch
Zelda 1 - Switch Online
Majora's Mask 3D - 3DS
Nintendo better show up with TOTK at the Game Awards. We’ve had 3 trailers and none of them have shown what makes this Zelda game special. It’s been 6 years in development (the longest of any Zelda game) and it reuses BOTW world, so there must be some big twist on gameplay Nintendo is holding back on revealing. Besides, the viewership of the Game Awards was 80 million in 2020, much larger than that of Nintendo Directs, so the marketing team would be stupid not to bring big Nintendo's most high profile 2023 release to the show.
I think now's the right time for Metroid Prime 4, but that was probably true last year as well, so I dunno. I honestly don't need to see more of Tears of the Kingdom. It's BOTW2, unless reviews are shockingly underwhelming, there's almost no reality where I'm not buying it ASAP. Why do I need to see more of it, so I can be surprised less?
