@Nintoz Sounds like it to me, these new engineers don't seem to appreciate what people really enjoyed about Freddie's singing in particular. I like his voice because of the rawness, incredible range and his dexterity across so many different songs.
Freddie himself said "do whatever you want with my music, just don't make it boring" and I feel like this is one of those "boring" moments. I'd have thought the other band members would fight it given how perverted it is.
@Pastellioli That could in part be why I'm not into shooters; I've never really played them online with others. Not that I haven't TRIED them, but my first experience with CoD (Call of Duty: Black Ops back in the day) wasn't fun since the console's owner pretty much threw me in the deep end without knowing how the controls worked. At least they didn't put me in with live players. I'm not into the gritty realistic military stuff, no matter what era it takes place in. Ah, so Conker's remake is more shooter-focused. Gotcha. I do think the original would be more my speed from our previous discussion. I hope you have a great time playing with your friend.
The PS5 Pro definitely isn't for someone like me. I could afford it in time, but the sticker price would sting. I'd be much better off investing that money in a PC at this point. Or a regular PS5, but I do want a decent PC that can render graphics from 3D game engines since I want to start experimenting with them again. May as well make the machine gaming-ready while I'm at it.
@jedgamesguy IF I decide to properly invest in Sony's ecosystem, I'd definitely go for the base PS5. At least it doesn't feel like they're price gouging with that one. As mentioned above though, another reason I'll likely invest in a good PC instead is I want to use it for more than gaming....But that will require a decent graphics card, which means it'll work for gaming purposes too. My current laptop works fine but is getting along in technological years. Furthermore, Windows 10 support ends in October 2025, and I'm unable to update my machine to it (Nor, admittedly, do I want to, but Microsoft's gonna Microsoft - the company that said Windows 10 would be their last OS, one that they'd continuously update...heh).
@Tyranexx Yeah, I think shooter games are super fun when played online but you always have to know what you’re supposed to do before jumping in. A lot of online games aren’t very fun when played offline. The multiplayer in the Conker remake was very boring, also because they took down online servers long ago before I actually got to play it and the main focus on the remake was its multiplayer, so the main focus not being there anymore sorta makes the multiplayer boring, paired with the fact that it’s very washed out and has a gritty theme. Playing the game with bots was so frustrating, I put the mode on the easiest level and the team I sided on kept losing every single time, and it wasn’t until I went on the opposing team that I kept winning. I think the only way to play the multiplayer with people is by doing system link, but I know nobody nearby who has a copy of the remake and an Xbox. I do love the original multiplayer a bit more cuz it was more goofier and there was a wide variety of game genres they used for the modes. There was this War multiplayer in the OG that is very different than the war shooter they included in Live and Reloaded, and I played the OG War multiplayer with my brother and it was such a blast. Playing with someone else really makes a difference in the game experience.
I did play with my friend today and it was fun, but it wasn’t a shooter game. We initially were going to play Perfect Dark Zero, but for some strange reason I couldn’t play online without purchasing an Xbox Live Gold sub, when I already had an online sub, and what makes it weirder is that Live Gold was discontinued, so that was frustrating, also because I love Zero’s multiplayer from the many bot matches I’ve done. What we played instead was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge because the sub I had included that game, and it was very fun. We and a few other players got through a good chunk of the game and I finished the rest of the game by myself. It’s a really good game, I did play it last year but I never finished it until now. I love TMNT, but the only piece of TMNT media I remember consuming in recent years that wasn’t Shredder’s Revenge was a 2012-2017 show that aired on Nickelodeon. I do want to play with him again tomorrow, but I think it’ll be another game, but I certainly wouldn’t mind playing Shredder’s Revenge again cuz I loved the feelings of that game. Luckily we didn’t have issue with our time
@Tyranexx Even stupider for someone in your position is that Sony's putting their best games on PC, decentivising people from actually buying into that ecosystem. Sure it'll jack up sales for the games but who's gonna go and buy a PS5 if the best games are on Steam anyway.
In any case I think some of the PS games on Steam are fantastic, and especially with a sale on right now it's worth a look; Last of Us, Uncharted 4, the Spider-Man games, Ghost of Tsushima, et cetera. That coupled with a PC refresh means even more gaming opportunities.
Had a nice surprise yesterday, DreamWorks released a Trolls short. While the animation is different than the movies, it is a smaller budget production, I'm really, really happy to get some new Trolls content. I love this, hope they do more with other songs.
@Sunsy I am talking a bit more with my friends now! They are sometimes a bit busy and sleepy, but I am happy to be chatting with them more. It would be fun if I could meet my NL and PX friends in real life, but we all unfortunately live in different countries and have different things going on in our lives. I do have a small bit of hope I can see them one day in a few more years, but it isn’t happening right now lol. I do want to play with one of my friends online later this month, but I need to try to make sure I wake up at the right time, because he sometimes plays games late where he is and when I wake up in the morning where I live he is almost ready to go to bed.
I loved Rumble World a ton! I had a lot of Pokémon there. I still have my handheld, maybe I could find the charger and plug it up. A lot of people I think never liked the Rumble games, but I for sure loved Rumble World and the mobile game they had for it before it was closed a few years ago. I watched the direct-to-video Disney sequels a lot, even though people hated them. I watched a video a few months ago where a guy watched all the direct-to-video films and ranked them, and I think the only ones everyone collectively agrees is amazing is Cinderella 3 and The Lion King 1 1/2, I loved the latter and I do agree it’s a well-done and hilarious prequel film. Though, one of the worst direct-to-video Disney films I watched was The Hunchback of Notre Dame II. Just plain awful with the writing and the downgraded animation. That is maybe the only “bad” film I have maybe watched and can think of.
Conker is rated M more for the content being sometimes super suggestive and eyebrow raising, gory violence, occasional cursing, and the crude toilet humor. I was a bit surprised with some of the content in it, though it was more so with the ending cutscene of the caveman boss battle, cuz was watching a playthrough of the N64 version while I was playing the Xbox port and I was so shocked they left it uncensored in the original, but I can’t say anything else about it because it’s not age-appropriate. I was also a bit surprised that one of Conker’s idle animations shows some pretty risqué imagery if you look up close, but the entire point of the game was to be as crude as possible and making their characters super crass and discourteous, and it did surprise me a bit Nintendo allowed Rare to release it with little to no cuts back in the day, because Nintendo liked to keep everything strictly family-friendly, but I think that only applied to them, and they didn’t really care if companies went ahead and released M-rated games on their consoles. Nintendo wasn’t involved in the game at all, except requesting that 2-3 scenes in the game be cut, being a Pokémon reference and two for referencing dark and extremely violent stuff that I shouldn’t mention here.
Perfect Dark did get that M-rating probably for the genre, but otherwise the violence is very tame nowadays, same goes for Zero. It was the early 2000s, so content in both those games was probably treated differently than they are today. Who knows, they could have gotten different age ratings if they released today!
Yeah, that is the difficult part about online friends, they're usually in different parts of the world. I live in the northeast US, while some here are in other parts of the world. Honestly, it's still neat to be able to play Mario Kart 8 with others here.
I did enjoy Pokemon Rumble World, it's been years since I last played it. It's actually been quite some time since I last played my 3DS too, or even my Wii U. Last time I played that was to play Splatoon before the servers closed, I should find time to play it again since there are games I do like playing on it. Which Pokemon mobile game are you thinking of? On 3DS the only game I remember having a mobile version was Pokemon Shuffle, I really enjoyed that puzzle game. Lion King 1 1/2 was really a fun movie, it was kind of neat seeing everything from Timon and Pumba's point of view. I think I also seen Fox and the Hound 2 (which I got with the Fox and the Hound DVD), and the Little Mermaid sequels on Disney+. I haven't seen too many of the direct-to-video Disney sequels, I do remember seeing these.
From the sounds of that, I'm really surprised that the Nintendo 64 was less censored than the Xbox one, considering how Nintendo use to have strict guidelines a very long time ago when it came to content in games. Wait, Conker's Bad Fur Day originally planned to have a Pokemon reference? This is the first time I'm hearing about this one.
Yeah, I imagine older games would be tamer when it comes to the violence, even if they were once considered over the top during their time period. Playing Doom 1993 is different than playing Doom 2016.
@Sunsy Regarding new theater seats and carpeting, the pandemic actually helped the normal local theater in that regard. The owners apparently had some cash secreted away; they used the empty theater houses during my state's shutdowns to redo a lot of the seating. Not sure if they would have still been in the black if things carried on much longer though.
Joy snapping was definitely unexpected since she's...well...joyful normally! I think it was to show that everyone goes through different emotions; they aren't set to just one all the time.
That reminds me, the near 100 year old theater I was talking about actually owned a drive-in theater. During the pandemic, they actually were making money even when the theater was closed. I remember during that time I remember reading more were going to drive-in theaters. That actually sounds like a good time to do it too since people weren't able to go to the theater and you can do improvements to it.
Indeed, it kind of makes me wonder what their emotions would look like, like emotions within' emotions. I also did get some laughs like when Disgust had to ride on broccoli, or the "sarcasm." My friend is a big hockey guy and he loved all the hockey moments.
@Sunsy
Oh, Poppy was singing Stronger by Kelly Clarkson?
Still curious to see Trolls 4 in the future.
What kind of music theme they will bring for the fourth movie after boyband theme on the third movie?
Btw, did you watch Transformers One?
I have watched the movie two times last week, I will watch again for the third time during this week while still being aired at my local cinema XXI.
Transformers One was pretty good in my opinion.
Kinda interesting to see the history of their feud between Autobots vs Decepticon was started from their friendship between Orion Pax (Optimus Prime) and D-16 (Megatron) when they were younger.
I personally not a huge fan of Transformers franchise but I have some interest with the cartoon series of Transformers, not the live action movies (their robot design looked pretty unappealing for me).
After watching Transformers One, I tried to watch the cartoon series from YouTube to getting know more about them.
My favorite so far was from Robots in Disguise 2015 for having the best robot design in my opinion, Rescue Bots Academy for the preschool version without engaging in violence,.
The Transformers animated series 2007 was pretty Teen Titanish design as I found the similarities from their design.
Also, I played some Transformers games on both Nintendo and PlayStation machines (Prime on Wii U, Devastation on PS3, Battlegrounds on PS4, Earthspark on PS5)
@Anti-Matter Yup, pretty much the music video, plus Branch and Viva returns too. We'll probably have to wait and see, if DreamWorks ever does announce a fourth movie.
No I haven't and don't plan to because I'm not into Transformers. The movie isn't even out in the US yet either. I'm glad you liked the movie.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
@Sunsy They released a Pokémon mobile game called Pokemon Rumble Rush that was open for a year or so and was quickly closed a year later. I can remember downloading it back in November and I enjoyed playing it a lot even though a ton of people hated it and thought it was a bad game. Sad that the Rumble games often get poor reception cuz they are really fun beat em’ up games in my opinion.
Yeah, I definitely agree that the Lion King prequel is awesome. While I do think a lot of the direct-to-video Disney sequels and prequels weren’t good mostly from a writing and sometimes animation standpoint, a couple of them had lots of effort put into them, I think the Lion King prequel was one of them. Disney+ does have a lot of the direct-to-video sequels and films on there. I still don’t know why I watched The Hunchback of Notre Dame II twice on there a few years ago when it’s a clearly bad film. Guess I was bored at the time.
It was a bit surprising, cuz a lot of the time content like that would be censored excessively, but nowadays some of the content that was found bad back then is not considered like that anymore, or is at least considered tamer.
Yep, Conker was going to have a reference to Pokémon during this scene with a weasel mafioso but was cut per Nintendo’s request, unsurprisingly. I need to find the slightly restored scene, but if I remember, there’s a Pikachu tail that is shown moving around underneath the table that the weasel mafioso is sitting at. He tries to catch it and keeps missing it and then says the Pokémon series’ slogan “gotta catch ‘em’ all.” It’s been a while since I saw the cut scene, so I’ll try to find a link to it.
EDIT: Good ol’ Unseen64 has come in handy! Found the link on there.
Oh, gosh...
I found from Wikipedia if on 17 September 2024, it will be 40th anniversary of Transformers. 😯
I didn't realize if Transformers franchise is already as old as my age.
Transformers One that have been aired in Indonesia since last Wednesday was a special celebration of Transformers G1.
@Pastellioli Oh cool, I didn't know that there was a Pokemon Rumble game on mobile. Now that I think about it, wasn't there a Rumble game for Wii U that used figures? It was kind of like a very early version of what would become amiibos.
Arighty, I haven't seen too many of them. Most of the Disney movies I watched as a kid has been the main Disney movies, like Pinocchio, 101 Dalmations, Beauty and the Beast... now that I think about it, I might have seen the Beauty and the Beast Christmas movie once. I like Christmas movies, so maybe that's why I watched it.
Yeah it's like the standard for what was seen as too much changed over time. Playing a classic Mortal Kombat game and one of the modern ones (I have XL on PC, and 11 on Switch), it's like a day and night difference.
Wow, just saw the video you shared. Shame it got cut, seemed like a fun easter egg for the game. I could see it being cut in the Xbox one, only because Microsoft doesn't own Pokemon. It's cool to see what could have been. I love looking at cut gaming content.
@Sunsy Yes, I think there was a Rumble game they released on the WiiU, but I don’t know if any figures were used in it since I never played it. I did like the mobile app even though it was very short-lived. I have played a lot of Nintendo-related mobile games and did like them, but a lot of them were shut down. I loved Miitomo a lot especially, but they ended that one off fairly quickly, and them ending services for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp was a bit of a shocker for me even though I deleted the game off my phone years ago, but it is nice they are leaving servers up offline for people. That’s an approach I do like seeing when games close so that they aren’t gone forever. The only time I saw an online game do that was Club Penguin Island, though that’s a game a lot of people actually never liked in the first place. The only Nintendo mobile app I have is Fire Emblem Heroes and that one I made a lot of progress on, hence why I have not deleted it off my phone but I haven’t touched it in a while. I’ll probably go back to it at one point. It’s an okay to decent game, but dang I love the artwork and character designs a lot.
Yeah, although the game was pretty much not cut significantly, the Pokémon reference and at least two other jokes were cut per request. One of the other jokes actually does have the original scene in-tact via beta footage, but it’s very unnerving and gory from what I saw in a video, and learning about what it was referencing in the context of the level it was used in (which was in a War-themed level) I can pretty much understand why they were told to cut that. The Pokémon reference was interesting, but I guess that Nintendo didn’t want a kid-friendly character being reference in a game that wasn’t so kid-friendly and just told them to remove it. Unsurprising Nintendo didn’t want any characters associated with their brand to appear in there.
I also love looking at cut game content too and cancelled games. I love watching videos on random cancelled games, and I especially love Unseen64 for that specifically, though the site sometimes does have errors and some articles haven’t been updated in years with new info since the site is run by a small group of people. But, I still find it to be one of my favorite sites to see cancelled gaming content alongside random YouTube videos. Again, one of the issues is that it doesn’t have some extra info on cancelled games thanks to some articles not being updated in years, but I had learned about the existence of a ton of Rare games I hadn’t known existed and were being made at one point. Some cancelled games are documented on less than others, and some more than others, so Unseen64 is probably my go-to site for finding out more about cancelled niche games.

Good morning.
Today is 40th anniversary of Transformers G1. 😊
The first episode of Transformers G1 was aired on 17 September 1984.
That was around one month before I was born in October 1984.
I have ever watched Transformers G1 when I was kindergarten student but I didn't remember anything until I can watch again the G1 series on YouTube.
EDIT: the article opening says "This is the first in a guest column series from Nintendo Life, the world’s most-visited independent Nintendo website". So, that confirms he's not leaving NL<3
@Pastellioli Makes sense that they took down the online servers for Conker ages ago. Sadly that's par for the course for a lot of online stuff since servers take manpower and maintenance...plus there's the whole "Does anyone even play this game?" argument. Probably so, but the number is so small they likely don't see the point. Sounds like the bots were poorly optimized too.
I am glad you were able to play with your friend online, even if it wasn't the game you initially wanted to play. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge must be a pretty fun game! I'm not huge into beat-em-ups but have played one of the TMNT arcade versions before and enjoyed it (on someone's MAME cabinet). Sounds like it's more fun with others than alone. I like TMNT, wouldn't call myself a big fan or anything, but I've seen some of the shows (Mostly the original and the same Nickelodeon show you mentioned).
@jedgamesguy Exactly; there's very little incentive to invest in Sony when pretty much any game I'm interested in ends up on PC. I can patiently wait out timed exclusivity lol.
Steam, GOG, etc. can run some great sales. Out of that list, I'll definitely jump on the Spider-Man games and maybe Ghosts of Tsushima when I do have a better PC...and a smaller backlog.
@Sunsy Actually, a drive-in theater during Covid makes sense. There would be very little outside human interaction, and everyone's germs would mostly be stuck in their own vehicles lol. That makes me wonder how a drive-in theater about half an hour away did....
On Inside Out 2, The part with Disgust riding the broccoli was hilarious! I've wondered what the emotions inside of each emotion's head would look like too...But then it would expand into an infinite amount of mental multiverses then lol.
@Tyranexx The remake did do better than the original commercially and I think the multiplayer did get on an official top 10 list for most played Xbox Live games back in 2007, but the game still did poorly sales-wise, and Conker is not a game series I would consider popular or well-known. Its only really well-known by a few people, mostly people who played it back in the day or people that are super into Rare’s catalog like me, and the series only had three games and quickly went away!
I really agree that the bots were bad. Sorry if I go on a rant, I just realized after typing this in that it’s super long. In the multiplayer you can either play in a squirrel militia or teddy bear militia, and there is this short campaign that I spent so much time trying to complete on the squirrel team and we kept losing the first part of the campaign. In that one, the squirrels are tasked with getting into the teddy bears’ base by damaging and breaking through about three sets of barricades set up in the base, and then after making their way into the base, the squirrels have to be repeatedly shooting at the legs of the teddy bears’ leader in order to win.
However, this has to be done in 10 minutes, and that short time frame paired with the fact that the teddy bears already have access to a wide range of turrets and can snipe from afar, alongside my teammates all being controlled by bots really didn’t help and made the whole thing frustrating. I got to the end at least once as the squirrels and we couldn’t win from how much time was spent trying to break open the barricades, but for some really weird reason when I swapped to the teddy bears we won and it was seemingly effortless. It just really annoys me that the teddy bears seemed to have an advantage over the squirrels. In fact, I completed the full campaign as the teddy bears because the squirrels lost in every single part of the campaign. The next task following the barricade one was a capture the flag game, which wasn’t hard, but super annoying, but the last part of the campaign was super SUPER annoying out of the three; there are about four power switches that your team needs to take control of in order to win, but two of the switches are put into the enemy base, which results in a lot of annoying back and forth and frequently riding cable carts to both bases to deal with anyone taking control of the switches. Your team could immediately get control of all four switches and then a few seconds later some bot regains control to one and a lot of progress is undone.
It’s safe to say that I really didn’t enjoy the multiplayer a lot even though that’s the entire selling point of the remake. The bots are bad, the objectives in the games aren’t fun and come off as really annoying, and there’s kind of an imbalance between the squirrels and teddy bears from what I saw when playing, and I can tell clearly the multiplayer was always intended to be played with other people and not alone with bots. I think them going the grittier route for the multiplayer strips a lot of Conker’s charm and goofiness away. Some people who played the multiplayer back when servers were still up mentioned there being a lot of glitches some players exploited to win, so yeah, that tells me the online shooter the remake had wasn’t balanced well and wasn’t super amazing.
Shredder’s Revenge was such a blast, but I’d highly recommend playing with more than one person for it, cuz the game is pretty hard and more time-consuming when you play alone. I have played a lot of beat em’ ups in the past (notable ones for me being Pokemon Rumble World,Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game and Battletoads) so I really liked Shredder’s Revenge. I had played it a year ago with my siblings, but we never finished it, so it felt great coming back to it and finishing it once and for all. Super fantastic and I kind of can’t stop thinking about it.
I just changed my avatar to a Splatoon character, but I’ll probably revert to my original GIF avatar later. One of the best video games of all time in my opinion, but I had a hard time picking a nice picture for an avatar. The image is super small so I couldn’t fix a bit of the cropping. I finished a drawing yesterday, pretty excited to share it soon.

Finishing up some work for the night. Felt a bit hungry so I ate a microwaveable dinner consisting of a big piece of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and it was alright.
The fried chicken was disappointing. It tasted and felt way more like a big chicken nugget and wasn’t crunchy, and the skin at the bottom was too soggy, likely from the gravy I’m assuming. It wasn’t like the type that is a drumstick breaded and fried and is super crunchy when you bite into it. But it’s a microwaveable dinner, it’s supposed to be cheap and fast and isn’t like a super fancy and avant-garde dinner you eat at a restaurant. However, the potatoes were really good, creamy, and high quality, that was the good part of the meal.
