E3 kicks off tomorrow with Geoff Keighley's Summer Gamefest. On the surface I'm feeling like my usual pessimistic self; I'll see lots of cool games that I'll probably never get around to playing. Firstly, because I'm more invested into the Switch than I've ever been with any other platform I've ever owned. Secondly, I still don't have a PS5 or an XSX, and probably won't for a couple or few years before semiconductor shortages are no longer an issue.
But in actuality, in regards to my enthusiasm for potential Switch announcements, the hype is real. There are still several hundred games from years past that I'd love to have on Switch, either digital-only or physically, although I'd prefer physical of course.
Hype thrusters, activated...
Switch Physical Collection - 1,536 games (as of December 14th, 2025)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
Let’s go! It’s E3 season now! @Magician I hope you’re excited for it despite your conservative approach to predictions! I’m sure you’ll find something you love. I know I will!
@WoomyNNYes Depends on which game you mean, since there’s GT7 and GT Sport.
If you mean GT7, that’s been delayed to 2022 AND will be released on PS4 as well. I assume this is due to the shortages, but it’s saddening because it means this game won’t be able to use the power of the PS5 in the ways it would have and frankly should have.
Gran Turismo: Sport, on the other hand is readily available just about anywhere! From experience you’ll need to download a petty damn big set of updates, but it runs like a dream on PS5, plus loading times are cut down. I have a wheel and pedals and they connect via USB to the PS5, so some wheels like my Logitech one... they can run on PS3/4/5.
Been playing genshin impact and for a gacha game, I have to say, it has a lot of generosity, they will allow you to earn the stuff you need for characters and sure you can get the same character twice, every time they go down, they will give you 300 of these gems, which will allow you to pay for three rolls at the least, But here is the good thing, There are also banners were characters have a higher chance of showing up, you can save you gems for when this event happens.
And if I were to say is it a BOTW clone, no not really? I mean they copy alot of stuff I'm not going to lie, but it does its own thing with it. I just now if NL did A review on here there going to give it a bad one for the gacha stuff, even tho there are waaaaay worst gacha games out there, but maybe not.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!
(My friend code is SW-7322-1645-6323, please ask me before you use it)
@Snatcher One day I’ll want to sit down and have a go. I have it downloaded on PS5 and spent a few hours learning the ropes. It’s everything Breath of the Wild did good, running near seamlessly on stronger hardware. Minus the game design though, that’s inimitable.
The graphics are simply beautiful, no doubt about it. The music’s quite alright as well. The controls feel very smooth and the character designs are diverse. So far so good...
@ogo79 Ouch! I see one of your latest purchases has most certainly been hit with the ugly stick. You REALLY need to learn to reign yourself in, you old skeleton junkie...
@Tyranexx Ah, nice. Wouldn't mind visiting the John Wayne museum myself. Then again: wouldn't mind the Superman museum either...
Which immediately reminds me of those Christopher Reeve movies as well. I hope you've also added these to the now classic Western-infested "Tyranexx Movie List With The Ever-Changing Selection/Title"...
All joking aside, no rush obviously, but I certainly AM curious about your initial reviews of either of those categories. This weekend, I'll take some time to look more closely at those pictures you posted, because I've got a LONG weekend ahead, seeing as I treated myself to a free Monday and Tuesday, so I can fully enjoy and experience the whole of E3, without having to rush from work to home, and possibly missing something. In between sessions, I'll have more than enough time to give your pictures the attention that they deserve.
Damn, I've got to learn how to get rid of those smileys, or at least tone them down to a bare minimum, but as an empathic and social person, I find it's more or less the only way to add any emotion to my otherwise plain texts...
@Zuljaras You're very welcome. Glad you interpreted it as intended.
@Anti-Matter Ha! I can see that you've been gone for a while.
Text walls are extremely popular in the Chit-Chat thread right now, so you'll fit right in.
As for your newly found game interests: considering you already owned LEGO City Undercover, I'm actually surprised that you didn't already own more LEGO games, because there are SO many of them that are not super-hero oriented, and none of them are violent, so they seem like the perfect choice for you. The Harry Potter and Indiana Jones LEGO games are also great fun, so you might want to look into these as well.
By the way, here is a clip of that Rabbids mini game I was talking about:
(I did make a mistake earlier, because I thought it was from TV Party, but it's actually from Raving Rabbids 2)
The person playing it is not very good at it, though...
As for martial arts: I wouldn't really count Rocky movies as martial arts. Van Damme's best movie is Bloodsport, but I don't know if that's the one that you've seen. As you may have seen me mention quite a few pages ago, I'm a big fan of Bruce Lee, who far as I'm concerned, is the best fighter EVER, and his movies are quite entertaining, provided you like kung fu and so on.
@TheJGG The great thing about being part of a clan in Asphalt 9 Legends, is that once you are, we do not necessarily all need to be racing at the same time, and winning races will still add to the reputation and overall score of the clan as well, so even when played remotely and separately, it's still kind of a group effort. And every now and then in the weekends, we ought to be able to select a time slot that suits at least a couple of us. Just think of it as a meet in the middle kind of thing...
By the way: did I already mention that Asphalt 9 also looks absolutely great on a big screen? And even while playing in handheld? And the stunts you can perform in it are quite hilarious as well, so go ahead and give it a go, if you haven't done so already. I'm all but certain that you won't regret it, even though it's "just" an arcade racer.
@ThanosReXXX
Hiya ! 😀
I'm still working on unlocking stuffs from Raving Rabbids 2.
Some mini games were really hard like keep the balance of stacked foods, the Spiderman mini game (i have no idea what exactly should i do to get more scores). 😑
I still suck at shooting the Rabbids as i got quite a lot of misses or not enough time to reload the ammo quickly. 😣
Btw, i have one thing from Bruce Lee in my collection. It is a remix of Enter the Dragon theme on DDR EXTREME USA PS2 & DDR EXTRA MIX Japan PS1 and i like to play that song on DDR as the song got remixed by Naoki Maeda. 😉
Here is Enter the Dragon DDR version.
About LEGO Jurassic, too bad... there was no six pack skin in the game after i watched all the character list from Youtube because i made my Chase McCain in LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER became shirtless six pack dude with custom LEGO outfits for every jobs. 😅
I will pick LEGO Jurassic PS4 version next month with other PS4 games.
@ThanosReXXX Doesn’t help though that I’ve spent almost four hundred hours playing realistic sim racing games though No, that sounds legitimately awesome and I’ll try and round people up when I’ve soon gotten to a competent level of driving. I remember the driving style being very arcade-y, so I’ll adapt!
Touching up on our debate on Forza vs GT, allow me to throw another game into the ring; F1 2021. The most significant upgrade of the game for me is the significantly improved damage model, before you could only get varying levels of wing damage, and a wheel ripping off. Now you have suspension damage, side pod damage, bargeboard damage and even rear wing and diffuser damage. Frankly that’s incredible because I’ve gone for some outlandish moves in the past and because of the angle they went totally unpunished.
Apparently the handling matches what I’ve seen with the real F1 2021 cars, so poor traction out of mid speed corners.
I was thinking to myself, it was 4 years ago i have purchased Portal Knights PS4 and have played the game by borrow the PS4 machine of the game shop owner i usually bought the games and i played inside his shop. To imagine that was i still a naysayer of PS4 for too many adult games and less kids games due to less information and lack of gaming experiences, to see myself right now that can embrace my PS4 like i have no ill will feeling anymore after i expanded my gaming experiences by playing never before played games but still following my gaming rules. Also, at the twilight age of PS4, i saw a lot of kids games invaded PS4 such as Pocoyo Party, My Universe series, Kitaria Fables, Overcooked All You Can Eat, Untitled Goose Games, etc. I felt satisfied to see better games library of PS4 in their twilight age. I really hope more indie games for kids on PS4 and PS5 as i have registered more than 50 PS4 games on my purchase list.
@Tyranexx First I may as well mention I’ve completely overhauled the music folder I shared. I altered the metadata, so that everything’s more organised, they’ll now appear in disc-track order. I also added about twenty songs on top of all the ones I originally put, because I felt those were also share worthy. So, now fifty songs are there for your listening peruse, totalling almost three and a half hours. I’m excited to see how that goes!
When I have a block of time I’ll begin compiling these posts. Our massive posts began around April-ish so it makes my [excuse of a] job easier. It’s all but a guarantee that the document size will swell significantly when I begin copy-pasting your posts in. This will not count as plagiarism, these are all our words. I haven’t done any solid writing in a while outside of mandated things like papers. Edit: After about an hour of copy-pasting and minor editing for context this thing’s like a snowball... currently sitting at 37,000 words. I'll likely add @ThanosReXXX's posts because of how long they were too. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1exSG3bNl_h265L5mn1mH2QExTarD...
Can’t blame you for using blackouts as a last resort, I feel the same of course. Missing a Direct takes all dramatic weight out of it. Revisiting some Nintendo Directs from the past (back until E3 2019, so the last three only) made me reflect on how much stuff Nintendo throw at us every year. But thing is, when E3 2019 happened I was a very close-minded gamer; I only used the PS4 for some racing games; ie brands that were only not on Switch because they literally can’t run on it.
As a player of video games I’ve branched out exponentially since the last E3 event, so I know in my heart I’ll be able to enjoy so much more of E3 than I did back in 2019. Looking back right now I would have been excited for games like Trials of Mana, Collection of Mana, MH: Rise, AC:NH, and more now, but not then. As I said last time I’m very adamant about watching it live, despite my early sleeping schedule I woke up at 1am to watch the 2.17 Direct; Game Awards two years running at 1:30am, and many more hopefully to follow! I almost woke up my family when; Pyra & Mythra got revealed, Splatoon 3 was announced, and when Eiji Aonuma appeared on screen three times, both in joy and then disappointment, and then joy again when seeing Skyward Sword HD, a game that by the way I fully intend to play!
I forgot Capcom existed… until you said that Capcom has shown their E3 presentation date and time, and when I booted up Ōkami this morning. My thanks, because that may be the third one I end up watching as well. Which is funny, because that’s probably the only Capcom game I have ever played in my entire life. I’m being pressured to get into Resident Evil, but I think I don’t have enough guts for it. Nonetheless I’m very confident I’ll be able to tune in for that, since it’s at a good ti- oh BROTHER! Half past ten?! If I’m suffering from insomnia I will take a look! So far my schedule’s looking like this:
June 13th: Square Enix at 10:15pm
June 14th: Capcom at 10:30pm
June 15th: Nintendo Direct at 7:00pm
June 16th: Passed out.
Dad did get three shots, and it was indeed a booster. It was worrying to see him struggle to stay awake considering how active he is, so it makes me skeptical. But we will see seeing how my shot’s in six days. At least I can watch the Square one without any risk of keeling over. I appreciate the well wishes in that respect, if I manage it I’ll give you the thanks it warrants.
I am worried about the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake in some respects, because the games of that time are very short. Usually a short game isn’t a problem for me despite my painfully obvious infatuation with longer games, but it could either be a very short adventure with minimal changes to the flow and structure of the game, story, towns and world, or it could be akin to… I dunno… Persona 5 Royal compared to Persona 5? (For context P5R’s changes were so significant buying both is very common. Things like more things to do in Mementos, the procedurally generated dungeon, a new area to explore, a whole new third semester, a new item to explore entire new sections of dungeons, new boss phases, and super-flashy moves in battle) Personally I’ll take the second route any day and the overhauling of towns is a nice start. But we don’t want Yuji Horii going all Kamiya on us.
Considering your console purchase timing you rely on mid-gen revisions a fair bit. I want the “Switch Pro” stuff to go away too because it’s becoming tiring. People this obsessed with Nintendo love latching into the juiciest rumours even if they’re the most improbable. I’d say this analogy isn’t my best but keeping up with rumours is like orbiting a black hole. You can do it safely but get too close and you’ll never come back!
Guess what? Both NieR: Automata and Witcher 3 have been dispatched. While it IS from Amazon UK there’s a service that mails stuff here and within three weeks it should arrive. Which is good because lockdown was extended until the twenty-seventh (?!) of June. There is only one positive with this extension; that if it lifts on that date I’ll be fully vaccinated, and ready for… living. Never thought I needed all that clearance to live, but if we can’t adapt to situations like these I’d question whether our species can survive, say, a nuclear war, or an epidemic, which is much faster spreading than a pandemic.
Karting’s triply worth the wait? You bet it is. We’ll see the chequer soon enough, but it is important to play the long game. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint,” I have a very funny story to tell relating to that quote. In last week’s F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix there was a huge accident with five laps to go; involving the guy leading the race. The race was stopped and the choice was made to put all the cars on the grid and have a two lap sprint to the end. The reigning world champion (starting second) said this quote, but a mistake with his brakes meant he didn’t make the first corner, went straight on, and finished in last place. I’m a big fan of Lewis Hamilton and it was so hard to stomach. But I wouldn’t be a true fan if I didn’t hurt, and his mistakes are so rare that it’s a strangely nice feeling.
Because of where I’ve lived getting stuff delivered, let alone buying physical games, is very difficult, so I have a grand total of… two steelbooks. It’s an absolute treasure to have. One’s for Xenoblade 2 and the other… it’s Persona 5 Royal. I mentioned probably last year how I bought the game very cheap? Well it came with a steelbook and it’s one of the most beautiful steelbooks I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Take a look!
Pokémon Legends: Arceus looks like a very different sort of Pokémon game so I’ll be keeping my eye on it. Open world games have always been successful at seducing me with their ways, but at the same time Pokémon’s not the sort of series I’d think I’d want to get into. Perhaps one game will change my mind, because open world and RPG is a combination that can move continents. We shall see.
I made your eyeballs beg for mercy? Mission accomplished! Trials of Mana’s voice acting may be atrocious but the mechanics and story aren’t too bad themselves. There’s little you can do if your game is released in 1995, and you have three stories in one, so naturally there were gonna be concessions. For me I judged the game from a modern lens, even though it’s a very old game, with little in the way of genuinely new content. But as before we’ll see who’s right! Find a time, like with many movies and games before, and the joy will come.
