@ThanosReXXX The new Thrawn trilogy is canon. The old trilogy is not.
But I’m certainly one of the folks that enjoys each item in its own right. Movies, books, comics; they’re all still a fun way to enjoy a property’s creates world. I can’t understand how someone would get genuinely mad about it. That’d be like raging against McDonald’s just for changing the happy meal box design.

@HobbitGamer I didn't mean to imply that it wasn't canon, heck: I even said that they can be a good companion, and a nice addition to flesh some things out, and describe them in more detail than would be possible in a movie and elaborate on stories and characters, but they just aren't leading, and that's the most important distinction in this discussion. They're an addition to the general universe as a whole, which obviously started with the movies. And yet, a lot of these fanatics see these books as the "true" sequels to the original trilogy, which of course is beyond silly. And that's putting it VERY mildly...

But glad we agree on the irrational anger that some of these things create. Much like in a number of video game discussions lately. It would actually be kind of funny and laughable, if it wasn't so infinitely sad at the same time.

@ThanosReXXX I don't really pay any attention to astrology/horoscopes other than knowing my own sign. XD A lot of it is just broad guesswork that makes for an interesting discussion piece at times but isn't really something I personally put stock into.

I CAN be gentle and empathetic, especially to animals and young kids, but I'm definitely not the most patient in some situations and am easily stressed at times.

@Tyranexx Me neither. That was just me making fun of people living by them, or calling these special "Your Future" hotlines and such, on late night television.

It is typical, though, how even some of these broad generalizations can actually be attributed to the sign you were born in. And we are all children of the stars, after all. Most of our chemical make up is a direct descendant of stars and cosmic matter, and life obviously entered this planet on the wings of comets and meteors.

So, what's your sign, then? Or rather: what ARE your signs, because you'll also have an Asian one.

Chinese Zodiac sign: Goat/sheep/ram (depends on interpretation)
Astrology: Libra.

@Tyranexx Depends on interpretation? Were you born on a weird date, or in overlapping star periods? Normally, you should just have a "mirror sign" in Asian astrology, which should either be complimentary or more or less similar to your Western star sign, attribute/behavior-wise.

@NintendoByNature - Not sure if I’m pulling it off, but I’m definitely just going for it. My friend’s then 10 year old son drew my profile pic. It’s oretty scary. We’ve always laughed that it’s a version of me that could easily have come to fruition if things had gone a little different.

@Tyranexx - My daughter Bimily was easy as can be, but my son Bim Jr. was incredibly difficult. He behaved like a colicky baby, but I don’t think it was that. My wife slept them in our room for their first six months, and my son was OBsessed with feeding. I think the close proximity to the milk factories made him crazy. He was fine when we finally moved him up to his own room. During those six months, I was also sleep training my daughter to sleep at night without diapers, I entered it fresh off a neck fusion with a massive (years long) sleep deficit, and it was pre cpap machine; so the sleep I got was crappy. It was a perfect storm, and it nearly did me in. It was one of the toughest stretches of my life. But I made it! Barely.

Edit - Libra/Ram here as well. It takes a lot to get the horns, but it’s memorable when it happens.

@ThanosReXXX By "depends on interpretation", I meant that for the Zodiac sign; some sources have it listed as goat, others as a sheep/ram. Both are domestic ungulates, but they're still two different species.

As for the codes: We'll see. Thanks for mentioning that! I managed to grab Planar Conquest in the previous round and finally got around to trying it out for about 45 minutes or so last night. There's a lot of depth to the game for sure, but I don't feel like I've played it enough to give adequate impressions yet. The small text means it's better played on a larger screen though.

Not sure if Technosphere Reload is quite my cup of tea.

@bimmy-lee Oi. That does not sound like a fun time. Another cousin of mine went tjeouht something similar with their little one recently; things leveled out better when they switched him to the bottle. He was a fast-growing little trooper; they didn't think he was getting enough to eat. Sometimes when I haven't been sleeping much (thankfully it's been awhile), my days felt like a weird half-dream state. Glad that you survived the experience! I'm guessing the Cpap machine was a decent help.

IIRC I think our bdays + NBN's are roughly in the same week lol.

@Woomy_NNYes Howdy. It's not set in stone yet. Since I am a working adult and not a student I have to negotiate a bit and be cleared by the department (since I'm offering to work for free to up my chances of being accepted). I haven't been told the project as the researcher is working on a few different projects... ( massive star formation analysis, High Velocity Cloud patterns...as in trying to figure out why many galaxies are undergoing periods of active star formation when they should have exhausted the gas needed to sustain this and one project on top down galactic formation...as in why some galaxies have large sizes but seem to not have cannibalized other galaxies to do so.) He is also putting my name out there with some colleagues just in case I don't get approved. So its not official, I'm honestly more excited about the networking potential since I'm working on two projects currently anyway. (plus holding down two jobs)

@Tyranexx Good to know, about the small text in Planar Conquest. As for the other game: I just thought I'd mention it, but obviously you don't have to download it, if it doesn't interest you.

@Tyranexx - It was a rough stretch, but it was one of those types of experiences that we’ve discussed here before where it was almost worth going through it simply to experience the joy and relief of not going through it anymore when it was over. I still have to get my son out of night time diapers, so I have one more run left, but it hopefully won’t be such the gauntlet it was years ago. Yeah, you, me, and NBN are all close on birthdays. It was those tough Midwest winters back in the day. Snowed in. Not much to do. Lots of fall babies.

@ThanosReXXX Well I wont claim to be more tame. Just more pragmatic. I just know that lividly ripping into the new movies with all my issues is more likely to turn people off to what I have to say than anything else. And I know what it's like to have someone ripping into something I like viciously. I like Pokemon Sw/Sh after all. Lol

@Tyranexx That is something I very much understand - especially for soft cover books. I've seen some that were held together by seemingly nothing but stubbornness and habit. lol

But I have seen used book stores and even bought books online, used, in like-new condition. It can just take a little extra effort to find them.

Although I really prefer traditional books, of late I use Kindle because know I will be moving again in the relatively near future and books are heavy and weight is expensive to ship.
