@Heavyarms55 My grand parents had a beach house on east bay, Traverse city, by the grand Travers resort. So, i went there lots.

My brother met his wife at emu. She's from bay city.

Wildness. You're hardcore, heavyarms55!

@Heavyarms55 I've run into some crazy coincidences in life. I mean crazy. So, tell me you didn't go to emu 1995-1998. I'm trying to rule you out as my brother's roommate.

@klingki It’s interesting how a lot of the restaurants Koreans are opening in China resemble this American-Korean fusion. Chicken and beer, ribs and cheese fondue, and Korean pizza places started opening up everywhere. A lot of it is very oily and a punch to the gut, but it is very delicious if you get a group and feel like eating a lot of rich food. Those Korean soap operas likely contributed to the popularity.

klingki

@NotTelevision Yeah, I was actually pretty surprised when I came over here that chicken and beer is basically just as Korean as traditional Korean food these days. I have not been able to come to grips with what they have done to pizza though, haha.

@Woomy_NNYes lol No I was in elementary school at that point.

@Woomy_NNYes I have been to Arborland but my favorite mall would be Viva City here in Japan. (It's a mall, the city thing is marketing.)

What makes me hardcore? I'm just the nerd who actually followed his dream and went to Japan.

Oh and the street I grew up on had a Native American name: Cochise. What little I know of him he was yet another native killed by Europeans about 300ish years ago.

@klingki Haha. I feel like they take the idea of pizza very liberally in Asia and just do what they want. Not just small pizza shops either.

I thought the Pizza Huts in the US were committing so many pizza atrocities the UN was going to have to step in. Then I went to Asia and... 😂

@NotTelevision Yeah, it certainly did devolve. But so did the previous two articles about this game, so it actually was to be expected. Regardless, I always like to retain a tiny bit of hope that I'm going to meet more than just a small handful of sensible commenters in threads like these, because I'm fully aware you can't win 'em all, but all in all, things apparently stay the same, and people with a fixed mindset won't move an inch, so it definitely seems like none of them have decided to do better in the new year...

@bimmy-lee Minnie? Looked more like a Maxi to me...

@NintendoByNature Well, I managed to restrain myself in regards to taking a peek in the Smash reveal comments section, because I did kind of get curious after your comment, but luckily, I was able to contain myself...

I did watch the reveal video though, because it popped up in the news section on my Switch and man, if that wasn't one of the most cringe-worthy presentations I've ever seen, then I don't know what was. All the stupid (pre-recorded?) laughter in the background when nothing comical whatsoever was said, or at least not comical to Western ears (instantly making me seriously question Japanese sense of humor, or suspecting a serious lack thereof), and all the weird, goofy stuff, with the high school grade hand signals and what not. Pffff.....

I guess I'm just getting too old for all that kind of stuff, and as mentioned before, Smash is not really my kind of game as well, so that's probably also part of why I'm just not that "down" with all the cool in-crowd stuff surrounding it. And besides that, I just think it's weird seeing adult people doing all that kind of juvenile stuff.

@ThanosReXXX lol, yea it had it's oof moments for sure. My big takeaway was that 6 more are being revealed and that they're already chosen. Then again, id imagine they would have to be chosen very early for them to know how many fighters they're releasing.

STOOP TALKING ABOUT EXOTIC FOOOOODDDDD!!!! That's it, you all have to simply share now. It's your fault. You asked for this.

@ThanosReXXX I get the feeling Sakurai has been "coached" on YouTube memeyness and the general age group and mentality of the average Smash fan for these videos. It makes me like Smash less than I already did. I have fun with the single player though. That was a blast.

As for NL comments, there's one bright note. I was wondering what was wrong in the world when NL didn't try to exploit the voice actor "controversy" they stoked months ago for Byleth. Then I discovered they saved it for a whole article, couched inside praise for the unsurprising return of the existing actor, apparently. Thankfully the comments are not busy and nobody really took the bait. Hope, perhaps....

@NEStalgia There's only 2 types of video gaming news - rumours and release dates, which all turn out to be lies anyway, so it really doesn't matter if you get your info from official or unofficial sources as it all turns out to be wrong anyway.

List of games that had upcoming solid actual release dates but were delayed just this week:
Avengers
FF7R
Iron Man PSVR
Cyberpunk
The Last of Us 2
and Ubisoft delayed 3 games in Oct that were due this winter/spring
Gods & Monsters
Watch Dogs
Rainbow 6

I occasionally lightheartedly complain how fast this thread moves, but it doesn't hold a candle to the Nintendo Switch thread now that I've tried reading through it at times.

Nearly finished with SteamWorld Dig 2, I think. I stayed up longer than I should have last night playing it. Like its predecessor, the game is easy to get lost in. Mine, collect resources, sell the resources, buy upgrades, repeat.

Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)

@rjejr When it comes to release dates there's always 3 possible answers:

1) The one you give when you need the investors to know when they're getting a return (tell them next quarter, even if the answer is "probably never".) Every game requires this one.

2) The next one is a conditional date:
a. The one you give when you think it will actually be in a releasable state even though you know it never actually is.

b. The one you give when you're going to release it absolutely on a given day (in relation to #1) regardless of if it's in a releasable state.

All the above games fit into the first answer.

@NintendoByNature Good to know that there will be even more additional characters in that game that I'll never play...

@NEStalgia Well, if he was coached, then apparently by a preteen and/or in combination with a Comedy Club reject...

Between all the Pocket Monster and FE*SMT stuff, I think that by now, I'd much rather talk about trains...

Wow, Pilotwings only had 3 games in 30 years (1, 64 and Resort).

@NEStalgia Well, you'd think the investors would have figured out the lies by now, this has been happening on a regular basis for at least 4 or 5 years now.
