8. Tomodachi Life 3DS 🤭
9. Petz Hamsterz Superstarz NDS
10. Petz Rescue Wildlife Vet Wii
Just got done explaining esports to one of my older coworker/supervisors. Contrary to popular opinion, he didn't brush it off as silly or a waste of time like many older people do on TV and such.
@RedderRugfish Yes and no. The students are responsible for cleaning from a very early age but not as a punishment. It's used to teach ownership and build a sense of community among the children. However sometimes cleaning the bathrooms in specific can be seen as drawing the short straw.
The problem with it being a punishment is that you end up with the least motivated students cleaning the bathrooms and thus the bathrooms are cleaned poorly and really... no one wants that. No one likes public toilets, even well maintained ones...
@NEStalgia In that case I've played hundreds of hours of pet games. XD
@HobbitGamer Haha. My cat’s favorite spot changes every month, and it seems to get more puzzling every time I see him. His new spot doesn’t even look comfortable, but as long as he’s happy.
I had a friend with Hey You Pikachu and it was pretty fun for a while. We were really into Pokémon at that time, so that certainly helped.
@bimmy-lee Yeah it is a really weird game, even by today’s standards with all the unusual indie games coming out. More than a little eerie too.
@NEStalgia Have you ever considered the "if you can't beat them, join them" way?
@bimmy-lee Yeah... sorry about making you aware of that one. No one with any kind of a decently functioning brain should be in there, but yeah, that's the internet for 'ya...
@Heavyarms55 Huh? Don't know if you're serious or not, but you won't see me moan or go sad if no one reacts to a general post I make, that's directed at no one in particular. If I reply directly to a person, then yeah, I'd expect them to have the decency to respond, but otherwise, I don't mind if people ignore some of my brain farts. Sure, I'd welcome a reaction, but if nothing happens, then I'm also fine with that.
EDIT:
Ah, never mind. I should have read your comment a bit more thoroughly, instead of flying through it...
@NotTelevision@bimmy-lee Seaman is one of the greatest Dreamcast pet games, no: one of the greatest pet games of ALL consoles, of all times. Anyone who's even remotely interested in pet games and who owns or has access to a Dreamcast should play it.
@Tyranexx If you're interested in Animal Crossing, but worry about it going to be a time sinker, then the question to ask would probably/possibly be if you own or have ever played a Pokémon or large RPG game, the answer to which is probably yes. You can hop into the game for say, 15 to 30 minutes each day, or skip a day every now and then, and nothing bad will happen.
I've played several of the games ever since the GameCube, and even though I've never truly finished any of them (if that's even possible, mind you), I have always found them to be quite relaxing, because there's nothing that you really HAVE to do in them. It's just a life simulator, or maybe even a holiday simulator, and other than some simple, obligatory actions that you need to perform every now and then, to get some stuff that you might need, you can just freely wander around, and do whatever you like. No levels, no end bosses, just living in the village that you yourself will name when you first start playing it.
@NotTelevision - I’ve watched just enough video on it to know it’s something I’d love, and I can definitely see the eerie/creepy aspects of Seaman. It’s part of the allure for me. I really wish I could pay for a digital download for my Switch.
@ThanosReXXX - Half the people in that comment section could save themselves a lot of typing and just post, “I’m totally miserable by my own choosing.” It’s clear and obvious. I’m glad Seaman came up because it’s definitely in my top 10, “wish I could play it/wish I would have played it” games list. I know it’s published by Sega, but I’m not sure who owns it. The need for a microphone is a problem, but it seems like the Switch’s touchscreen keyboard could be a workaround. Come on Sega Ages, make it happen! It’ll never happen. I do want a Dreamcast for my retro collection, but the older I get, the more difficult it becomes to spend money on older consoles.

Well... There was this one villager that I thought was really nice (forgot the name, but it was a squirrel and her catchphrase was Nutmeg), who constantly wanted to move out of town and I had to convince her every day to stay, and I knew that if I didn't login for too long she would be gone and it kind of broke my heart when she finally left and I bloody hate Animal Crossing for making me feel like that and then animals wanted me to visit them at like 3 at night and if I didn't come they would be mad at me so NO, it never made me feel relaxed!
@Daniel36 - Haha, that’s a funny story, but if she wanted to move to another town; why not let her move? The sad part is convincing her to not leave and follow her dreams. Is part of the game to convince her to stay, or did you just want her to stay?
@Daniel36 - I can be that way too, so I understand. I’d definitely be disappointed if someone wanted to leave my little village, but my spiteful streak would probably take over in that situation. I’d probably tell her to leave, then go find her in another village and steal her stuff.
I came to loathe all my needy villagers and began planting trashing in their area, gifting them trash, sending them trash in the mail. If they wanted a fruit I’d eat it in front of them.

In Animal Crossing New Leaf, I have studied how to keep your villager stay at your town and you can leave your game not being played for long time without worrying to lose any villager. Here is the trick :
Make sure you keep monitoring all villagers before planning to get hiatus. Keep talking to every villager to get a hint if someone was planning to move out. If someone want to move out, go after them and try to get attention from them by finding them outside their house and they will coming after you with "!" expression. If they don't react to you, Save the game then quit then reload your file and try to find them again outside their house (not inside other buildings) and get attention from them. Ask them to stay in your town (first answer) when they are telling to you to move out by certain date. After you ask them to stay, you can immediately Save your game and quit without worrying to lose any of them.
I have managed my THREE towns of my Animal Crossing New Leaf. I have 4 copies of them (2 standard ACNL in physical + 1 Welcome Amiibo in physical + 1 Welcome Amiibo in digital). The physical copies are for my main towns while the digital version is for villagers regenerate so i can delete my town for digital version once there is no more dreamy villagers left after they have persuaded to stay on my physical copies town.
@HobbitGamer That's exactly what I want to do! Except IRL!
@ThanosReXXX Joining them in having $3k+/mo rents, or joining them by taking up spin class at Starbucks and posting pictures of trendy $30+/plate restaurants on instagram as my main hobby #nobigdeal?
If it's a choice between wearing yoga pants or trying to start WWIII with only a pack of bubblegum, a paperclip, and a pair of sticks, there's really only one valid choice, and it isn't the pants.
@bimmy-lee Yeah... those moments spent in that particular comments section, trying to offer some sensible perspective, against my better judgment, are moments that I'll never get back, so that wasn't exactly a case of time and energy well spent.
Oh, well. Being the person that I am, I'm pretty sure that efforts like that from my side will surely happen again on occasion, somewhere in the near future, so I better put my psychic guard up in advance...
But yeah, Seaman for president, for sure. Doesn't the Switch have a built-in microphone, like the 3DS/2DS?
I thought it did, but even if it doesn't, it would be quite simple to make an add-on, seeing as it was also an extra, separate peripheral on the Dreamcast. They could even do something with the live chat by smart phone method, like some games already do on Switch.
@Daniel36 Yeah, there's those kinds of things in it, but none of it is something that you HAVE to do. Like @bimmy-lee said, you could have just opted to let her leave. And far as I'm concerned, forcing/having to force someone to stay, even in a make-believe world, is actually never a good thing...
@HobbitGamer Now why am I not surprised?
Or maybe I am. I actually expected you to spam the entire village with pineapple-related stuff...
@Anti-Matter That's actually a VERY good tip. Take note, @Daniel36, @bimmy-lee, @HobbitGamer, and all you other Animal Crossing players or people wanting to play Animal Crossing...
(looking at you, @Tyranexx)
@NEStalgia Start with the coffee and then slowly work your way up by making yourself important/unmissable to them.

By the way: goat yoga is both hilariously funny and super-relaxing, so...
@ThanosReXXX - I didn’t get very far into it once I realized the subject matter, and that it was mostly the usual group of miserable hate mongers; but I saw you in there, trying your best. Let them embarrass themselves, you’ll never convince an ignorant person to not be ignorant. I admire your efforts though, and I know you’ll try again.
You know, I had to google the Switch microphone situation. I thought it had one built in, but I’m still not sure. The phone app is a great idea as well, but it would only be playable for NSO folks. As you mentioned, it’s definitely set up for a microphone accessory, so bring on Seaman!
@ThanosReXXX Well, like I said, it was way past unhealthy teehee.
That said, I am really looking forward to the new game, because of the shared world with all accounts, meaning my kids and I will all be in the same world.
@ThanosReXXX I dunno, I mean I dunno if muh banjo'll even fit in them there fancy es-ta-blish-mints.... but I don't see how muh hog won't fit in with all the labbydoors in them places.
I suppose I could just crash a rooftop party and play Switch in the corner by myself. That'll probably count!
Hard crowd to blend with. You have to know all the trendy things. You had to grow up with the right parents that knew each other through the other connected right people from the beach houses they co-own. I think I'm caught up to 1987 or so on my trend knowledge. You have to have experienced the latest thing in the hottest place. Usually I've never heard of them, and mostly I think anyone that spends the asking price on any of them is short more than a few brain cells. You spend it, not for the actual value, but to show people that you spent it and are part of the lifestyle.
That's the sad part. Even if I WERE handed a few million and able to live lush and posh.....I still hate these people's lifestyles and places they go. It's all fake. It's like living in Epcot's Eifel Tower and telling people you live in Paris. I'll never understand how anyone can see Disneyland reality as reality.
OTOH, given the demographic, I could probably wear a sign complaining about "the 99%" and put a soup cup out and rake in the dough..... These are the people that spend $125 for a pair of jeans and knit mittens with holes all over them so they look "authentic." Funny, I just wear the 15 year old pair I got at Penney's for like $8.99 and it didn't even have holes in them when I bought it! It has less holes now than the $150 ones they bought that way.
PS. As someone that actually does follow real good coffee (but not pretentious hipster cafes), I can assure you the Starbucks is even worse than Folgers (seriously.) For $7 a cup. It's seriously poor quality product from beginning to end at a high price. They mostly source the beans of various origins that even P&G wouldn't touch and burn them all to a homogenized charred taste, then sell it as premium. It's guaranteed not to turn pink in the can Not that hipster cafes (that do have quality product at excessive prices) are much better, not that any exist here, but still...
@bimmy-lee Man, now that we've started talking about it, I'd REALLY like to see an HD version or sequel of Seaman. The technology has also increased by a tenfold by now, so conversations should also be more natural, expansive and intelligent. I've spent SO many hours raising my human-fish hybrid back in the day, that a new version would probably be the biggest time sink I'd ever play...
@Daniel36 That's going to be a lot of trains going to and fro each village, then...
@NEStalgia Banjo? Surely, you meant to say "didgeridoo"...
And you hate 'em now, but once you're part of the in-crowd, you'd be SO happy that you're just like them, and are also enjoying the shiny, happy new world, all while enjoying your overpriced double mocha-chocolate latte...
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@ThanosReXXX - “spent SO many hours raising my human-fish hybrid”, man, this sentence alone is why I NEED this game. You’re right though, skip the Sega Ages version, and let’s have an HD upgrade or sequel that utilizes more modern tech. That truly would be something to get me to fire up the Switch every day, if only for a few minutes.
I’d love to set it up in tabletop, like a little aquarium, and interact with him in all kinds of different ways. It’s frustrating that some genres are so under served while others seem to have an unlimited supply. I realize the economy of it all, but man, I wish more developers and publishers could be incentivized to take risks.
