I finally found the right frequency to induce her into chrysalis, and long ago I told my daughter I’d get her a Mothra, and she just won’t let it gooooooo. I have to do something to make it stop. @StableInvadeel I was going to be funny and post a picture of the DQ "tough guys in masks"'/miners/thugs, but I can't turn up pictures of them, and I don't even know what to search for. They don't have really an English name, and Toriyama only refers to them as ”おらくれ” which I guess you could call "thugs" but that's not really accurate either, and even searching for that turns up nothing of value.
Oh well. Just imagine the buff bodybuilders in S&M masks from DQ and think of Anti.
@NEStalgia - There was a blizzard in NE IN in Dec 1978. The drifts were such that people were trapped in their homes and had to dig themselves out. Lots of downtime for everyone. As a result, I and an inordinate amount of my school classmates have September birthdays.
@StableInvadeel There we are....not sure what happened last time, but I have a feeling I was still on Japanese google and switched back to English and it was a mess. It doesn't help that the thugs are generally not thugs but blacksmiths, "warriors" etc.

@StableInvadeel I meant that she didn't do anything that didn't belong in the game or wasn't meant to be played as such, because it's an official trial in the game. You're comment made me wonder if you were making a joke or were being a bit sarcastic, hence me saying that you might want to add the "end sarcasm" sign the next time you post such a comment. @NEStalgia I get it perfectly fine, but let's just say that running sometimes makes one tired, and this one was never funny to begin with. I don't even fancy the woman, I just do that to counter, but I do think there's nothing wrong with her and that the sociopath comments are a MASSIVE over-exaggeration, and kinda insulting as well. Being the person that I am, that just rubs me the wrong way. It's not that I don't make any jokes about women at all, but in general, I do really treat them with respect, even if I don't even know them personally.

@ThanosReXXX - Ha, I know what you mean, I too thought it was fake when I first saw it. The size and coloring immediately stuck out as “not real”. Honestly, I never saw it move. It hung out for an hour, and then it was gone. I guess it could have been an elaborate trick played on me by someone who knows me well and wanted to see if they could troll me into taking 45 pictures of a plastic model moth. Amazing how it looks more machine than natural in my opinion. Like it’s a little jet. Still not convinced it wasn’t a nano drone sent by the Foot Clan.
@NEStalgia - I think everyone did all their worrying during the first week of being snowed in. After that, there was no more worries left to worry, the situation was clear. Nothing left to do but come up with ways to stay warm for the next week. I can’t imagine what would go down if it happened today. Families stuck inside together with no electricity for two weeks? Cannibalism within five minutes.

@BruceCM Well, what often turns me off is them being fake. I like natural women, and if these happen to come well-endowed, then so be it, but I don't exactly go looking for them. You can blame my dislike on 90's adult entertainment and public figures like Pamela Anderson and so on. I positively HATE implants for cosmetic reasons.

@StableInvadeel Technically when they were introduced in DQ3 they were often used as highwaymen enemies in battles. But since then, yeah, they're just "strongmen", smithies, fighters/warriors/gladiators, miners, etc, and generally comic relief
@NEStalgia It being a common thread doesn't excuse the bad taste in "humor". And I've seen plenty of both good and bad humor, what with my uncle owning one of the most famous standup comedy café's in Amsterdam...
And a quick search online offers up other "common" and "interesting" threads of the time, such as one on the IGN forums, with the ever so charming and female-friendly title "would you bang IGN's Audrey Drake?"
It truly amazes me that IGN even allows these kinds of threads to exist, let alone be posted in the first place...
It once again reminds me that sadly enough, I don't possess the abilities and/or the accoutrements of my virtual self...

@ThanosReXXX There's a difference in common interesting threads between leering perverts commonly talking about her appearance versus a running joke about her displayed public personality based on her own very bad taste in humor (or actual psychosis.) I'm not running with some inserted appearance based assertion..I'm running with her own actual recurring tone of statements. I.E. She's in on the joke - she started the darned thing on purpose (or is actually psycho.)
@NEStalgia That just sounds weird. Who the hell would call him or herself psychotic? Might also be a botched attempt to soothe the masses, as in a "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" kinda way. Although she does like to get tipsy every now and then, from what I've now read here and there, so it could also be alcohol-infused banter.
Either way, we're probably never going to agree on this anyway, but personally I've never felt that there was anything seriously wrong with any of her Nintendo presences or with her, so to me, that would make it seem as if the other people, that did take offense or we're downright dumbfounded or shocked by what she said, are either weak, insecure, or have VERY thin and sensitive skin.
It kinda reminds me of the #metoo train. And I'm not talking about actual victims and actual perpetrators, because the former definitely need to be heard and compensated, and the latter definitely need to be nailed to the wall. No, I'm talking about those idiots that use these kinds of campaigns and/or just causes for their own purposes/agenda, to get their 15 minutes of fame, or in today's speedy world, probably 5 minutes...
And I'm glad that @Tyranexx, as a representative of the gender discussed, also didn't take any offense to anything Audrey did or said. Otherwise, I may just have had to question my own sanity. But that's obviously a far too ridiculous notion to even begin considering...
