Topic: The Avengers Thread

The movie was awesome. 'nuff said.

Figured this forum might be the best place to ask a comic book related question.

Through Dr. Pepper's "Avengers" promotion (the grand prize is an Xbox 360, not sure what that has to deal with the film though) I won a free month of Marvel comics. The thing is though, it doesn't say exactly what that means. Will comics show up in the mail for the next month or so, or is it some sort of online subscription? Besides for the movies, and the occasional video game, I've never really been into the whole comic book thing, so this isn't my area of expertise. Does anyone here have more experience with this sort of thing?

Saw this yesterday. AMAZING. My favorite parts were
•Whenever Iron Man opened his mouth.
•Whenever the Hulk hit something.

They could have made the entire movie that and it would win every award EVER.

I can't stand Robert Downey Jr, so this film was pretty bad for me. Good if you want to see mindless fighting, I guess.

Than thats just the kind of movie for just about...everyone.

You say that as if mindless fighting can't be entertain, especially when this is some of the best action in a movie in years.

Really, I just saw it today. Best movie I've seen all year, and I doubt it'll be topped. The action, comedy, characters, and everything involving each of those parts made me not care for even a second that the plot was practically non-existant. Kind of like reading a good super hero comicbook, you know?

Of course, but the Iron dude's little quips ruined it for me. Mildly entertaining, just not my kind of movie

Ruined it? Man, I loved those jokes. Friggin' hilarious, along with the rest of the jokes in the movie. It's why I like Iron Man so much. I just can't see how they'd ruin it for someone. But oh well.

Every movie needs an arrogant self-centered egotistic. It's like, required for a good movie.

It also adds for interesting group dynamics. Not saying you'd have to like him. He just fits.

Really? Wow, I thought he was pretty good as Iron Man...very funny to me. But yeah the fighting was EPIC!

The Avengers tumblr is good stuff.

also best parts of the movie were the Tony and Bruce Bromance

Yeah I liked Iron Man and the jokes in those movies, its kinda the main reason why I saw this. Can't tell if I liked him or Hulk in this movie though...they both had some awesome/funny scenes. xD

Hulk punching Thor outta no where was pretty funny. Big laughs in the theater at that time. xD
