Iron Man 2 has the problem of not being Iron Man 2 but Iron Man and the agents of s.h.e.I.l.d.
Not that there is anything wrong with that but it hurts the movie.
I'm tempted to rank avengers low be ukase it means 616 hawkeye has to where that stupid movie costume and the earth's mightiest heroes cartoon is being canceled in favorite of some crappy cartoon that emulates the movie and is in the same universe of that awful ultimate spiderman.

Earth's Mightiest Heroes is being canceled? No way! I absolutely adored the first season on Netflix. First Spectacular Spider-Man was canceled (best Spider-Man show ever, art style and all) for the new Ultimate one (hey, at least Coulson is in it), and now this. When will Marvel ever learn?
And that's not any reason whatsoever to "rank Avengers low", it's just a reason to hate Marvel/Disney/Sony/whoever for their business decisions.
Yeah I know. Its being canceled to fit the movie and be in the same universe as ultimate spidey and hulk agents of smash. Sad as its the cartoon that made me care for wasp.
Hopefully this movie makes Warner brothers make man of steel or even green lantern there starting point.
And I'm calling ultron for avengers 2.

I saw Avengers in 3D at a midnight premiere. One word: INCREDIBLE. I really liked Hulk in this film. For us North Americans, the scene at the very end if the credits was the best. Just read that Avengers had the biggest domestic opening weekend (>200 mil). It has already grossed over 400 mil worldwide. This will just make it all the sweeter when TDKR dominates.
It's definitely a fantastic cartoon despite pacing issues and some wasted potential, here and there. The first season at least (I don't have cable).
I'm pretty excited for Man of Steel considering: A) Nolan as producer, and B) Superman Returns was a disaster.
That is, assuming a certain mad titan isn't the main villain (might be too soon for him, unless they do some development in Iron Man 3, Thor 2, and Captain America 2). And wouldn't you need Hank Pym (and probably Janet Pym) in there somewhere to do Ultron? I know he's like their ultimate villain, but you'd think he would've been in the tag instead.
@tertium_quid Nice signature. Reminds me how much I can't wait for How The Avengers Should Have Ended. And yeah, the way Hulk is handled in this movie makes me instantly not care about any other interpretations, though I may watch the 2003 film sometime at my friend's request (and hey, it's instantly streaming!).
Oh that guy is at best the villian for Avengers 3. I'm atoll wondering how they will explain the avengers taking that guy. Even without the you know what he wipes the deck with these guys.

I'd be surprised if they teased him that far in advance, considering Avengers 3 is at best five or six years out. I know that the "Avengers Initiative" was first teased way back in 2008, but still. And considering that the you know what had a cameo in Thor, I would think they'd take their first (and arguably best) chance at implementing it. But yeah, either he (and the you know what) are going to be really dumbed down, or all the Avengers are going to die (which I personally would find kind of cool, but Marvel and the film industry wouldn't). What makes Nolan stand out is that he has the courage to kill major characters (the death in Avengers didn't count, although it was moving), and if Bruce Wayne dies in Rises I wouldn't be surprised.
What I learned today: I use way too many parentheses. also, i'm paranoid in that i only write huge walls of text in threads that i've made because that means i have more control over how long my words stay on the internet.
The death in avengers didn't count that guy has been brought into other media and is now a major player in the comics. Death person is comiing back.
Eh the next major baddie can only be a few people. Footling avengers villains you turn up a lot of stuff that looks cool in cartton and comical but would be lame in film. The Justice League has the same problem.

Still not nearly as "major" of a character as Bruce Wayne or even Rachel Dawes. Cool to know that's he's infiltrated the comics, though! And if he does come back, that just serves to prove my point.
Whoever the next baddie is, with Joss Whedon at the helm again (hopefully), they can do no wrong.
And I have to go to bed now, so don't expect any more responses for a while.
The movie is ridiculously fantastic. My whole family enjoyed it. The scenes with the Hulk were cool (and hiliarious) and much like the rest of your experiences, everyone lost it when he violated that one guy.
As has already been mentioned, I would love to see a several-movie tie-in when the big baddie from the credits comes to town. As an owner of the actual comic book series that's about him, I just don't see how the Avengers could hope to win. It took the whole Marvel Universe! But whoah, imagine the possibilities of a 2 or 3 part series of movies that contain the Avengers, the X-Men, Spider Man, and the Fantastic Four all vs. the latest bad guy.
Personally, I didn't like Thor very much. It was too full of drama. Boo hoo, my daddy kicked me out, and I can't pick up my magic hammer anymore. Get a hold of yourself, man! He's like a spoiled teenager for most of the film.
I thought Green Lantern was much better and can't understand why everyone thinks that film is so terrible. Sure, there was some overblown drama with Jordan's fear issue, but at least they kept it isolated to just a couple little parts.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Spectacular Spider-Man was pretty awesome. Good art and fight scenes. I personally hope they make a new show with Ben Reilly though!

That's the point. It's called character development.
A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It's jolted by every pebble on the road.

Some character development is fine, but when it's overblown like that for the first three quarters of the whole movie, it's just boring. It's supposed to be an action film. Save the whiny drama for the chick flicks. It's the same reason the Spider-man movies went downhill after the first one, as the two sequels had Peter Parker either questioning himself or having his emotions hijacked by the parasite more than he was fighting bad guys.

I think that every scene on Earth was dull because of the dreadfully handled Jane Foster romance and the other characters there. If you want well-handled romance in a Marvel movie, look no further than Captain America.
That said, I personally found Green Lantern to be a laughably miserable film in virtually way. At least it really was funny.
@Sony_70 Just Googled EMH news and found out that the cancellation is just a rumor currently. I took it as confirmed.
I don't think bulb has ever read a comic before. Thor is supposed to a lively bulstorious fellow. And Peter Parker is constantly being put down. Read the lee-ditko run.

I am at a loss for words to describe the awesomeness of this movie, as "awesome" is a drastic understatement.
Also, Thor was a great movie; i was actually shocked how good it was when i finally saw it a couple weeks ago (and i've never really been a big Thor fan, at least his solo book, though i always enjoy him in the Avengers books or when he appears in other titles).
I want to discuss some of the awesomeness of Avengers some more, but i'll surely tread into spoiler-territory, so i'll hold off for the time being.
