If by potty humour you mean jokes involving potties and whatnot then no. If you mean crude humour in general, then yes, as long as it's delivered with panache and not over the top.

Most of the time. I use my thumbs when playing any game that is either fast paced requiring any touch screen control or when a game is mostly controlled with buttons and just has a little touch screen stuff making it not worth it to hold the stylus. Although in those cases I usually use my finger nail. I can't stand the finger prints T.T
I always use my stylus on my 3DS although I occasionally just tap the button that says 'turn power off' on the sleep mode screen but I would never use it in a game or on the menu and this may sound a bit extreme but I hate to watch people use their fingers on a DS or 3DS and if I'm watching a video where someone does that, I might stop watching.
I use my stylus for everything touch screen-related on my 3DS. It's way more precise and accurate than my finger. About the only thing I can think of where I won't use my stylus is for Lite controls on SSFIV.
No. I just use a well-manicured nail. It might be something to do with the fact I'm left handed, it's too cumbersome to manoeuvre a character while tapping buttons at the same time, both with my left hand, so I just use my right thumb. I never found it a problem with the DS though.
