There was an article about this on the time extension site, but figured I'd post a link here for those who missed it. The 1989 Japanese horror flick Sweet Home was recently remastered,
Totally worth checking out if you're at all into haunted house movies. Great atmosphere and some truly phenomenal practical effects.
@OldManHermit Oh sweet! I've been meaning to watch Sweet Home for ages myself ever since I learned that a NES game adaptation of it developed by Capcom would go on to form the basis for Resident Evil during the 90's. Will definitely give it a watch at some point in the near future!

Woman in Gold (Blu-Ray) - Thrift store pick up. Not something I'd usually go for but glad I gave it a watch because it was pretty interesting.
True story about an Austrian-American Jewish woman who sued the Austrian government over ownership of a painting of her aunt (the titular "Woman in Gold"), after it ended up in an Austrian gallery after being stolen by the Nazi's in WWII.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
@OldManHermit Never heard of that one or seen it. I'll have to get around watching it when I can. I think Criterion should pick this one up on Blu-ray & 4KUHD soon. They're known for their unique variety of foreign & domestic films in their catalog.

DO YOU HEAR ME!?!
Back in the day I rented it on DVD after hearing all the buzz. Watched it. Was baffled.
Then watched one of the video special features, I remember it being the director and someone else. And they quickly and simply explain the plot and ending. Like in under a minute.
I thought...sooooo why didn't they put that in the film then? There are much more complicated plots told much better. I think they cut the script up removing the "handholding explainer bits" so people will think it's "deep", etc. I just chalked it up to a failure of storytelling.
It is odd as I would never say Donnie Darko is a good film but at the same time it's very enjoyable and has a lot going for it so I would recommend it to people.
To me it's a great teen film, it's very emo sci-fi which you can take more seriously than say Twilight or CW tween dramas like Arrow or Riversdale which is perfect for when kids go through a phase of listening to angsty music and telling their parents they never asked to be born.
"***** you, I won't tidy me bedroom"
(Omg, the video is rubbish!)
Yeah it's rubbish vid but it was perfect for it's 90s alt vibe.Try this video of it, it's when they preformed a free concert at Finsbury Park in Landan Town for getting the Xmas number one single over X-Factor.
I was at that gig, I was a very drunk teenager loving every moment of the safe rebellion against evil tv pop music. They had Gallows (a hardcore punk band who I fudging loved), Roots Manuva and Gogol Bordello supporting too. Probably my favourite gig I have every gone to.
I've been watching The Invitation on Netflix tonight. a weird take on Dracula, Renfield and the 3 vampire brides. Even Lucky and Johnathon Harker make an appearance in the movie.
Weird for Hollywood to have a fixation on Dracula movies from Invitation to Demeter and the Nicolas Cage Renfield movies
Another one for animation fans out there, DreamWorks revealed their next movie, The Wild Robot. It's based off of a book, albeit one I never read or knew about.

@Anti-Matter The trailer just says "coming soon" and "this fall," but there seems to be no official date. Which surprises me as DreamWorks' last two theatrical movies had their dates when they were revealed. I still remember the "Trolls 3" announcement with the 11/17/2023 date, long before they used the "Trolls Band Together" title.

Kung Fu Panda on Peacock tonight. Seeing the new movie isn't in my budget, so I don't know if I'll see it in theaters, but did the next best thing, watched the original movie tonight. Felt good to watch again, been a few years since I've seen it.
I know Eagly doesn't come here anymore, if he happens to see this, I hope he enjoys the fourth Kung Fu Panda movie. He wished me the same back in November when Trolls Band Together came out.
@CaleBoi25 Assuming you're talking about The Wild Robot. Hope so too, the scenery is really beautiful in it.
