It's definitely my favourite film I've seen last year along with Marty Supreme. I think it will definitely be among my favourites by the time the year is over.

The Martian was a very successful book, and then a very successful movie, but it sounds like the Project Hail Mary reaction is that it's "loads better". I agree with that!

Ah nice, I've just bought Artemis because the same team are adapting that book next!

I didn't know that was being adapted too! Thanks!

Oh no! Don't watch the TV edit! They censor the funniest part of the film, when Steve Martin goes to complain at the rental car company desk.

I just bought it digitally last night myself, so I could watch it uncut (and do so every holiday to come!)

i know that scene and have seen the movie many times before. plus i have the damn DVD. and the tv edited version isnt that big of a deal like what youre doing

Predator Badlands took me by surprise, even though i felt a little burnt out by the last 25 or 30 minutes. It was a lot of fun, but i still think Predators(2010) starring Adrien Brody is the best Predator sequel, with the 80's orginal being the holy grail, even though I'm completely over it.

Saw Hoppers with my friend today. Yeah, this movie was really good. Without spoiling it, I'd say it was funny and just overall really good.

I was not prepared for the stupidly dark turn Hoppers took. Like holy cow I did not see it coming. They wanted to "squish" the human king and the butterfly was straight up evil, and the movie got really dark with its premise. This movie really worked out in the end, still I was not prepared for this turn, and I love it.

I'm curious about Kpop Demon Hunters. Recently heard that Criterion will release it on 4K, Blu-ray, & DVD...not sure about that last one...since I thought Criterion dropped DVD. That won't come out until December 31.

Plus...I bought Harry Potter & the Sorcer's Stone on Blu-ray. Plan on getting Space Balls & The Naked Gun on Blu-ray as well. I seem to have the urge to watch 80's comedy films for some reason. The modern ones don't quite hit the nail these days...

@Sunsy man, I really am alone in my dislike of that one it seems! Ah well, it's not my first hot take, and it won't be my last.

Heat (1995)

I think this might be one of my fav movies. I remember way back in high school in Television class our prof showed us a couple scenes. It was the diner scene when Deniro and Pacino’s characters first meet, and the final gunfight at the airfield. Seeing those scenes really helped ignite my passion for film making and visual story telling. Been working as a storyboard artist ever since.

Anyway, it’s fantastic crime drama if you haven’t seen it. Always loved the tone of this movie, just all these cold, concrete urban spaces. Really captures living in a big city.
