Well it might be the incredibly sexist, immature way it treats its female leads. It might be the horrible acting, lack of character development, or it might be the lack of a consistently coherent plot.

So...

Forget that, it's got giant samurai and robots

I do want to see it though. Looks good to me.

You are going to have to elaborate on this, especially the "incredibly" part. Outside of maybe the sailor uniform, I fail to see how this movie is exist in anyway. In fact all the women in this seem to be empowering themselves and fighting male oppression. Their wardrobe is burlesque style, which to me is a classy/artistic sexy.

Kid_A wrote:

Elaborate please. Not seeing this.

Taylor Swift in Valentine's Day was horrible acting. There was nothing in this movie that made me cringe acting wise. It's a Fantasy Action movie. I don't think anyone is walking into the theater expecting Academy Award winning performances.

Once again, you have to look at the type of movie. Action movies aren't going to go deep with the characters. The main characters were developed enough to make you care in the end. Like any movie the minor characters weren't given much time.

The end of the movie ties it all together. The movie relies heavily on symbolism. If people aren't intelligent enough to figure it all out you can't slight the movie. I appreciate the fact they go back and explain every little detail.

So....I I think the movie is being overly criticized, especially for a fantasy/action movie....... though I guess this happens to all popular movies.

So...

All of those can be explained ( except for acting, I didn't see anything wrong with it. Plus, [SPOILERS!!!!!] Baby Doll and Sweet Pea are the only two of the group that actually exist and their development was pretty good, IMO[END SPOILERS])...as long as you understand the story. Apparently a lot of people aren't getting the three worlds and how they connect together. What's happening in the real world, is that Blue and the guards are taking advantage of the girls. That justifies the theater "world", as Baby Doll imagines that she has the power to turn them into mindless zombies before her dancing. Still, even in that layer of her imagination she can't escape Blue's grip on her. It's only in the next layer, which she enters while dancing, that she is free of him and full of empowerment.

And, there are 20 minutes they cut to keep it from getting an R rating. Those minutes might very well hold the missing parts that better connect both the three worlds and the story.

I agree with MERG. What did you not like about it?

I forgot to comment on this! How did you hate Rango enough to walk out on it?! D:

If you guys have seen the original trilogy, you'll love this. It stays very true to the original and although there are lots of deaths, none of them are their just for a bloodbath.

See it!

I guess you could say the only reason I didn't like it was because the cinema we were watching it in cut out all the good scenes

Malaysian cinemas are like that they cut out all the good/violent scenesin the movie you're watching >_>

rango was amazing. i have to say.. PIXAR there is a new sheriff in town the CGI was amazingly real to a creapy degree. there is some of that johny depp werdness at the beginning of the movie but it dies down after the first seen. and the message was really great. if you control a life-line you control everybody = faults of socialism

overall amazing movie. and a great cameo by clint eastwood

Ooh! Sounds good!

Just watched Get Low. Wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out to be an excellent movie.

I recently watched the Professor Layton movie. In my opinion it was at least as good as the videos in the games. It even had a bit more action going on and made me think that Level 5 maybe could do a little more with the series than just have static puzzle solving in it. Quite a nice flick there. It made me think about the Animal Crossing movie too, which i also quite liked.
