Odnetnin speaks the truth! The more movies you've seen, the more you'll love Rango. It's basically an animated love letter to live action movies. It's brilliant.

Meh. It just looks like a much weaker 'Truman Show' to me. I'm probably see it simply because I'm a fan of Matt Damon (and Emily Blunt ) but I'm not expecting great things.

Actually, it is slightly similar to Dark City and is based on a Philip K. Dick novel or short story. Just in case you didn't know, he wrote A Scanner Darkly and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (aka. Blade Runner). The Adjustment Bureau looks like an interesting movie, but I am not about to rush out to theaters to watch what is essentially a cool romance movie.

Checked out Battle: Los Angeles over the weekend. It's a pretty awesome "summer action popcorn flick". There is a bit more of the 'ole "suspension of disbelief" required than what you'd normally expect from an alien invasion movie, but it still works. I'll be picking it up when it comes out on Blu-Ray.

I just saw The Last Airbender. It was not the travesty I expected. They stuck to Book One and were pretty faithful as far as I could tell. Sure the acting needed work, but it didn't distract from the good writing and cool effects. All in all, I really liked it.

THANK YOU. You are the first person I've met who agrees with me. It wasn't great but it certainly wasn't horrendous.

Has anyone seen Sucker Punch? I'm really excited to see it, but I'm gonna wait until next week to see it with my sister and brother-in-law when they fly in from California.

I was thinking I would go see it tomorrow. Sounds like a go to me!

I saw Sucker Punch today. I LOVED it. Sadly, I can't recommend it to you because apparently almost everyone hates it. I haven't seen a movie so unfairly disliked since Speed Racer...

Last week I saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and it was surprisingly a great movie to watch. It had a touching story and has great moral to it, something that most movies don't have nowadays.

That's just fine. I already knew everyone hated it. I loved Speed Racer, but no one else seemed to share my sentiments. Sucker Punch seems to be in the same boat, and it looks like the perfect movie for me.

That's great then! I hope you like it, tell me what you think once you've seen it.

I share your sentiments, Speed Racer was brilliant.

@WaveBoy: You should watch The Orphanage. It's a Spanish horror film (produced by del Toro!) and is really great. It doesn't have zombies though.

Last movies I saw were Battle: Los Angeles and Unstoppable. Both of them are pretty good, but not something I'd talk at length about.

There's a ton of films I need to watch coming out soon. Except Hop. That looks f-awful.

Just started watching The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Has anyone seen Source Code yet? I had no interest at all until I read it was directed by the director of Moon! I've gotta see it now.

Saw it last night. Honestly, it was disappointing. I figured out who planted the bomb in the first scene of the movie...kept waiting for the big twist but it never happened. Also, Jeffery Wright is uncharacteristically awful in this movie.

Don't get me wrong, it's a very entertaining movie, and one that I'd ultimately recommend (if for no other reason than for the fact that we need more movies with ideas as fresh as this one these days). Just don't set your expectations too high.

I've been holding off on Sucker Punch until I can get my schedule coordinated with a couple of co-workers because we'd like to see it together. Tough waiting though as it seems like it's chock-full of awesome. I also don't get all the negative reviews since it looks so cool.

I also agree about the whole Speed Racer thing. Great movie imo and a "must-own" if you have a Blu-Ray player.

A lot of the negative reviews aren't criticizing the visuals, just the story and character development.

And the soundtrack is epic.

I saw Tangled last Saturday and thought it was just okay. A lot of the characters were kind of cookie cutter and the songs were weak with no real standout songs. The plot was good and it was funny, but compared to other Disney movies (Pre 00s that is) it was mediocre. And the ending was REALLY rushed and a bit nonsensical at times.

I'd give it a 3.5/5.
