I know that this is highly off-topic, but, nice shield, Kid_A. When did you become part of the staff, and what's your job as a staffer?

When I first heard the title, I KNEW it was going to be another craptastic Adam Sandler flick. But now...I can't wait for this one.

Bumpitty.

I saw Jaws all the way through for the first time a few nights ago. That sea-dog guy is hilarious.

Two weekends ago I saw Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole in theatres (movie was from the same creators of Happy Feet). I thought it was a very good movie, even if quite dark and hectic in certain places (to me, that is).

I must warn everyone in the world about one movie. DO NOT SEE Gulliver's Travels! It is the worst thing I've ever witnessed and I've seen a boat load of garbage like Caddyshack 2 and The Adventures of Pluto Nash, but this movie sinks below this level, about 100 million feet below. My friend and I wanted to see a bad movie to make fun of, so he picked this one, but this movie was so God-awful we couldn't say anything to make it worse then it already was. There were even a bunch of young children in the audience and they even didn't laugh once. Please save yourselves and don't even lay eyes upon the billboard advertising the movie.

I must tell everyone to go see Tangled. Best movie since I don't know when.

I saw Tangled during Thanksgiving Break, and I thought it was good.

Okay, here's the movies I've seen recently (minor spoilers):

The Matrix - 6/10 - It's pretty cruel to introduce the viewer to such new and tasty ideas and then expect them to be satisfied with a kung-fun fight. Matrix is either a smart movie playing dumb or a dumb movie trying to look smart. Still, I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't see it again.

Ben-Hur - 9/10 The length didn't bother me, it was well worth my 4 hours, but the ending was a major disappointment, when you spend so long following this one man and his quest to save his mother and wife, it's annoying when you just slap a "god did it" ending on it and call it a day. The last shot with the crucifix and the sheppard doesn’t help. If it had a more appropriate ending, I would have given it a 10.

I took my mom to see Country Strong last night, and I loved every minute of it! It reminded me of a sad country song, and I was sobbing through the end.

I saw Tron Legacy recently, and I thought it was pretty good. I haven't really seen the original Tron which was done about three decades ago, so I can't really compare.

I saw Season of the Witch yesterday. Very good movie IMO. It had that B movie feeling about it but Nicolas Cage pulled it off really well. Lots of action which is always good.

Got s'more films for ya'll. SPOILER ALERT for the second one.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - 8/10 - Probably a huge slant on the score here because of the nerd I am, but Scott Pilgrim is one of the most unique films I've seen in awhile. It's style and references did get a little tiresome at the end, and when you step back, the plot is just stupid, but if you check your brain at the door and bring your pop culture loving heart in, there's no way you cannot love this movie.

The Breakfast Club - 8/10 - Another fantastic film with an ending that missed the beat. The princess somehow falls in love with the criminal (even though he has like, 10 other girlfriends) and the jock somehow falls in love with the kook (even though he didn't glance at her twice until she gets a makeover and looks "pretty"). Knowing director John Hughes, this is either a clever way of showing us how the character stereotypes have not changed by the end of the film, and that teenagers will still give in to sexual desires, or it's just the lazy writing that would dominate Hughes' post-80s films. Either way, I can't get over it, it's almost disturbing. And besides, Allison looked way better without make-up and with her hair down....

That, and the annoying wistling sceen, cheesy running scene, and pointless dance scene, also the dialogue is too soft and the music is too loud, so you have yourself constantly reaching for the volume control, but this is just nitpicking. Other than that, it's the only high school movie I've seen with believable teens, and the only one that deconstructs the stereotypes and comes out with something better than "teen want sex" or "it doesn't matter what they think, just be yourself", and it's pulled off (almost) flawlessly. I'd defiantly see this movie again, but without my parents or brothers.

I've heard the new Nightmare was bad... Maybe watch it at some point though.

I saw:
Scott Pilgrim- 7/10. It wasn't quite as good as I hoped (I hate Michael Cera), but it was decent.
Inception- 8/10. It was waaay too long (2.5 hours!), and also seemed kind over-rated imo. Things also get a bit overly-complicated during the middle part of the plot, so i was fairly lost by the end of the film. Not a bad film, but needs repeated viewings to truly appreciate it.

Haha. If you think Inception's bad, think 2001 A Space Odyssey. Inception is forgiving compared to that film. I thought it's "difficulty" was spot on for me. Not too easy, and just hard enough. It didn't leave the same impact on me as 2001 did though.

You know, I was thinking the other day, there is JACK S**T in the movie theaters this summer. Gulliver's Travels? Little Fockers? The Tourists? (Tangled might be okay) I wish there were more theaters that showed older films.

I really enjoyed Shutter Island. Me and the wife were arguing over what actually happened in the movie so I'm gonna have to watch it again. Lately all the movies I've been watching have been over 2 hours long. Movies like Casino, Goodfellas and Hoffa.
