I like what you say prairiedude, but, not all of us 'want to go back'? I feel Lost sometimes sure, but don't like the thought of going back and re-doing things. In other timelines created earlier in my life, I could well be dead. So I just take my luck and be grateful I'm in this one.

But anyway, I'm glad you brought those thoughts into this thread. I am wondering though, if there is a double meaning in there.

But anyway, how about a diversion from deep theorizing.
I was wondering what your favorite episodes of Lost are. I know I've got plenty. My three favorites that I can think of would be White Rabbit, The Moth, and The Constant. I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of any other ones.

Good thinkin' Batman, it's all hot air anyway. We've all been theorising and going crazy for five seasons, but until the curtain goes down, I don't think we'll really be able to understand and reflect. So yeah, let's reflect on what we do know. I've mentioned some of my early favourites on previous pages, but of the recent ep's I'd have to go with The Constant too. One of the best episodes of telly ever imo. The best moment for me was 'memory insertion' as I call it. Daniel planting new memories in Desmondo's conscious, wow! And we'd waited so long (well I had) for Desmond and Penny to re-unite (season 2 end, key turning, wow) and that moment on the phone was beautiful. Btw, have I said, I luuuurve Penny so much! <3 Watched her in Flashforward, thought she was yum, but not like Penny, woah! _{edit: probably cos she's english... and rich}

I went off on a tangent, about chicks. So.. who's your favourite lady from the show? Who do you wanna... _{don't worry JR, I think we got yours, lol ;P}

Oh, and favourite characters? Mine is Jack, by far!

Hmmmm.....favorite episodes? I can't do it man. I love so many moments throughout the whole series, I can't pick.

Yeah it was so rewarding seeing Penny and Desmond together, as I have been in this just as long as anyone else has.
I watched a little bit of Flashforward but it just wasn't up to my standards (Lost). lol.
My favorite female character has to be Kate just because I can't think of anyone else to like as much.
And my favorite overall character has gone through so many changes. Here's the order as best I can remember: Jack, Hurley, Charlie, Desmond, Sawyer for a little while, and then Jack, whose been probably my overall favorite. But this last episode showed me how much I'm going to miss Locke as much as anyone else.His funeral and Charlie's death were perhaps the only two moments where I got choked up and tears started coming.

I've wondered that too. Me n Jack have a bit in common, good and bad, I've always loved his do or die attitude. The moment he made 'that cut' when operating on Ben was one of my faves, that, and of course... the beard. When he does something, he really does it!

Very much so. He has been quite hard to mourn, as we saw him dead at the end of season 4 but didn't actually witness the act until off-island. And then he was walking about again! I feel like I've mourned for him three times now, the last episode being the most recent (and final?!?!?!?!?!?). Either way, Terry O'Quinn is a fantastic actor and has been throughout. I hope we get to see Locke again. I'm praying 'the bright white light' uses John as a sockpuppet.

I know it's felt like we've mourned for Locke a lot, what with the coffin and other spots, but this one just feels real to me. Maybe it was that he was buried combined with it's the last season. Im not entirely sure why, but I think that might be the last we see of the John Locke we've all come to know and love.

What the crud?!?! I'm outta town for a week, and 3 whole pages are filled up with comments!? Dang, never leaving again until the series is over...Anyway, just saw the last LOST, and all i can say is: What the frigg? Definitely the best episode we've seen this season, without a doubt. I loved the inside-joke scene, hilarious! Finally the numbers come back into play! I almost forgot about them! Don't have much time, so the last thing I'll say is: CAN'T WAIT FOR TUESDAY!!

I'll stick with the fave characters thing, becuase if i start to chime in on this ep, the post will be 73 bajillion lines long ...

Locke was my favorite from the get-go, intially because i've been a fan of Terry O'Quinn since "The Stepfather" movie; he's just awesome in any role i've seen him in. Worked out well that he's playing such a great character (or i guess two characters now, since he's playing Nemesis/Flocke/Whatever you wanna call him). Hugo is awesome (i think we all probably have a friend or acquaintance a little like him, the loveable big guy), and i dug Charlie, since he sorta in some ways reminded me of myself at a younger age. And Ben Linus -- now he is an awesome character, and they struck casting-gold by having Emerson play that role!

I always tend to be a fan of "lesser" characters (especially in comics), so i'm also a huge fan of Desmond and Faraday, and not just for all the timey-wimey stuff of which i am a fan. And Lapidus. Of course. I would happily watch a whole hour of Frank just sitting on a chair making snarky comments at the insanity of the whole thing.

Oh, one thing, i think 'Chu mentioned it -- Esau was the name of Jacob's brother in the Bible, and it is the name some fans have been calling Smokey.

Yeah I've heard people calling him Esau before too. I usually call him Man In Black, MIB, or the easiest one, Smokey.

Actually the latest name is Smocke, which I like, as it works on three levels.

Esau huh, that's his name. See now, I struggle with the bible references, as from day 1 the creators of the show said it was grounded in science. As the seasons have gone on though, I'm starting to wonder if there's gonna be a bit of both. _{but how}

Anyway, it's Lost day for you lot, enjoy tonights episode. Fell free to jabber about it, I'll just show some self control for once and not visit till Thursday.

Well sure the writers always said it was grounded in science, but they were clearly putting in religious and biblical references to contrast with the science. They even went so far as to make characters, Jack and Locke, both arguing over the topic of destiny or scientific coincidence.

_{Last nights episode wasn't anything mind blowing but it was an emotional one. We have been following Jack's father issues for a long time. So it was really beautiful to see him turn around and treat his son the way he always wanted. "You have what it takes." I'm dying to know what Jack's role in the war is going to be.}

Clair on the dark side of the battle was kinda of given but I wonder if Jin is going to get sucked into their side. Most important thing in the whole episode to me was the fact that they foreshadowed they are going to kill Kate!!!!! Noooooooooo!!!!!!!!

Yeah I thought last night's episode was pretty good. It was great to see Jack have that moment with his son. I was wondering who the mother was. They never referred to her by her actual name except mother. At the lighthouse, I wonder who 108 was before Jack smashed the mirror. I think it would be Aaron as the other side of the episode dealt with the kidnap of Aaron and everything.
All in all it was pretty good.

@Paupack - Ha. I was editing while you posted that. I never even thought of Aaron. I'm not sure how he would even get the island though....

Yeah and after I posted my post, I realized that it could be so many people. Desmond, seems to be just as likely if not more so to be the one who comes back. Maybe it's Walt, I don't know.

In my opinion, it has to be Juliet. She has to be in ATL and they both work in the medical field. Plus, think about the loads of sexual tension they have shown between Jack and Juliet since they first introduced her to the series. They could have made his baby mama some random lady but I find the highly unlikely.

Now if only Machu would hurry up and watch the episode, we'll have stuff to talk about. Unfortunately, I'm going away for a few days to Colorado and won't be back until Monday night. I hope to see a bunch of theories when I get back.

I can't believe neither of you have mentioned the lighthouse, that was crazy. I can't wait to check screencaps tomorrow of all those names, and of course, the places presented in the mirrors. I'm sure for a moment the Lamp Post flashed by. Awesome episode I thought, I have a couple of niggles but I'll get to them tomorrow. I'm toast! :/

Oh and Claire, with the axe, with that look in her eye, woah! I thought... "she's gonna do it! Nah... they wouldn't...". They did! This show is brutal at times. Love it!

I don't have much time, but the thing that really shocked me from last night's episode is that Jack had a son before his flight back from Sydney...Now, if I remember correctly, there was never any mention of Jack having a son prior to the crash. Also, who could the mother be!? I guess we'll find out.
