Well, I've been wanting to talk to someone about LOST for a long time since none of my friends are real "fans" of the show. So let's just discuss everything and anything about LOST. For example What in the world is the "BLACK SMOKE"? And How come Richard Alpert never ages? Let's throw out some ideas!

THAT conversation which took place at the foot of the statue changed everything. Jacob's 'friend' on the beach is Smokey, the ying to Jacob's yang. What i want to know is, the 'bright white light' that Locke saw on his Walkabout in S1, was that Jacob in his anti-smokey form, or was it just Smokey reacting differently as he met the gullible 'loophole' he's been looking for. I don't know, but seeing that image of an Egyptian God bowing before Smokey was immense and show's just how far back this story goes. I don't know about you but I've had to go back through all of S5, once the true identity of Locke became clear. How many forms has Smokey taken on now, Locke, Remi, Christian, all dead btw but on the island (I'm counting Clare in that too). And what about Dave (Hurleys friend), was that Smokey? He did try to get Hurley to jump off a cliff, and I think Hurley is the key in all this, he is the only pure one & he's cursed/blessed depending on who you listen to. And that black horse Kate saw, I'm certain that was Smokey too.
As for Alpert, I think he was on the Spanish ship that was arriving in the S5 finale, and was then given immortality (some how) so as to act as a mediator between Jacob & Smokey, to ensure 'the rules' aren't broken, and to aid Jacob in bringing 'special' people to the island. Or perhaps he has a more important role I don't know. He seems pretty bored with it all to be honest, I laughed when he just said "tell him I said hi" when Locke n Ben went to see Jacob.

I don't know, too many possibilities...but then, does Charlie come back? I mean, I know he's dead...but that doesn't mean he's gone (especially in LOST). So, I wonder if he comes back, we'll just have to wait

Dominic Monaghan was in the LOST panel in the last Comic Con 2009 (07/25) in San Diego and it was written in his hand "Am i alive?", so his come back is a real possibility.
@All: They are all there in the promo shot, dead and alive. It could be for flashbacks, they could be for smokey to mess with, or it could be a result of the big phat time bomb that just went off, we really can't predict anything till we see what happens next. Aaaaaagh!

Locke has his back turned, but then it's not Locke is it. I hope he's not dead dead. But then I think time on the island is gonna get splintered or twisted or reset, so again, I HAVEN'T GOT A CLUE.

I mentioned it in the time travel thread also, but the season 6 premiere is entitled LA X. I know where that takes my mind, with X being a variable. I think we might see flight815 land in LA, having not crashed, having not been on the island. I'm probably wrong, but could the island reality we know have ended with the 'white out', will they land in LAX, or will Jack wake up in the jungle, at the beginning of the loop that we know exists. I love how much this show makes me think, theorize, wonder. And only 4 months to go... 0_o
And is that geezer in the video... Abbadon?!? Is that why he got shot?!? For blabbing?!?! Awesome!! And that church HAS to be the church with the pendulum thing in yeah.
I'm up to season 3 on my re-re-re-re-re-re-re-watch, I need to slow down as I've still got ages to wait.
