@FroZtedFlake Correct! (In case any of it isn't clear: Keanu Reeves played Ted in Bill and Ted, the medicine is the pill and that he moves really quickly to dodge bullets but in slow motion. I can't remember if the bullet dodging is a consequence of the pill or not, so my question may have been poorly worded, but hey, that's the game!)

I’ve just had an idea about the Nintendo character but I’ve been a bit greedy recently, so my guess is… not this:

Maybe the cool guy from the Mario Movie would know… or maybe not.

I had a theory it was gonna be a Shy Guy or someone else from Super Mario Bros. 2 and they were to referring to their orginal Doki Doki Panic name but I'm too lazy to check.

In fact, I’d shell out a fair amount of money on this hunch — if gambling didn’t give me the creeps.

That Kirby enemy from Link's Awakening is the only thing that comes to mind.
