Some random dude on Nintendo Life.
Toriel left for a while, so Freaky Fred took over her place!
Not changing this part of the signature until Nintendo announces Super Mario Sunshine 2.

You know, I'm really stumped on Tantalus's "AAA" Wii U port. I have a feeling that, if it's still around, it will be shown at E3 in some format. But I was thinking, and I'm sure I'll probably get flak from saying this, but I think it may be Minecraft.. Or was, if it got canceled because of Microsoft's acquisition of Mojang. I know I'm not the first person to suggest this. I mean, the comments by a Tantalus rep make me think that. They say it's big. Minecraft is huge. I'm not really using the line about a "top-notch developer" as an indication of Notch, since that's kinda dumb. Anyway, I'm most likely wrong. It just got me thinking.
It makes sense though, Microsoft still has other new games to announce and focusing on E3 for this fall's big three (Halo, Forza, Tomb Raider) alongside some late 2016 stuff and then have gamescom more for the new and returning IP for early and mid next year. Now it makes me wonder where Undead Labs will announce their next title as well as Lionhead.
So with so much pointing that Retro is working on something related donkey kong I mainly have 2 questions. What type of game is it, Nintendo registering a Diddy Kong trademark but Diddy Kong Racing is too similar to Mario Kart to put out so soon. Maybe another Donkey Kong platformer game to round out the trilogy. Also after seeing splatoon I'd be interested to see what nintendo would think of letting Retro do something new as wel.
WAT!
Hey check out my awesome new youtube channel shingi70 where I update weekly on the latest gaming and comic news form a level headed perspective.
I don't want a new Metroid, I don't care about Metroid, but if Retro makes a new Donkey Kong game I'm going to be so annoyed. I don't care what it is man, Donkey Kong has run its course. Keep it in the vault until the NX

I want either a Metroid reboot or a complete new IP with the same tone as Metroid!
Do we know if Nintendo has said anything about the Club Nintendo replacement being shown at E3? I Thought I remember them saying that it will not be show at E3.
But in all the pre-E3 hype, I thought it would be fun to theorize what Nintendo and DeNA will do for the Club Nintendo replacement. What do you think they will do? What would you like to see?
I would love to see something that offered something similar to the Wii U Deluxe Edition promotion. It really encouraged me to buy my games digitally. It also gave me a nice incentive that I used to buy some virtual console games or indie games.
I also would love to have digital collector's editions for games. The price would differ depending on how much the developer wants to put into the collector's edition for the game. But imagine paying $5 or $10 for a digital collector's edition that comes with a digital artbook or assorted concept art, interviews or editorials written by developers, a link to redeem the game's soundtrack, and more (either through a Nintendo/DeNA site or iTunes, if the soundtrack is available). They did this sorta of thing before when they included the Hyrule Historia in the Wind Waker HD Wii U bundles.
I highly doubt that Nintendo will do any physical rewards, considering North America received less and less physical rewards after each year club nintendo was in service. I can see them doing a physical reward for a big game release, but nothing annually. But who knows. I could be wrong. We do know nothing about the service, and probably won't for some time (I think I remember them saying that the Club Nintendo replacement will not be shown at E3).
@randonfury I doubt Nintendo is going to talk about the new loyalty programme during E3, as that would take at least a good 10-15 minutes to explain. Besides, it isn't really gaming related, or exciting to watch. I'd rather see the talk about their new programme in a Direct.

They do release press releases and such during E3, I can see a basic outline being discussed, but nothing too solid.
What if Super Metroid Director's Cut was announced?
"I'll take a potato chip... AND EAT IT!"
Light Yagami, Death Note
"Ah, the Breakfast Club soundtrack! I can't wait 'til I'm old enough to feel ways about stuff!"
Phillip J. Fry, Futurama

So what do you want Retro to make?
A new IP. Why do people act like Retro can only make Metroid and DKC games?
