I don't want a new Metroid, I don't care about Metroid, but if Retro makes a new Donkey Kong game I'm going to be so annoyed. I don't care what it is man, Donkey Kong has run its course. Keep it in the vault until the NX

So what do you want Retro to make?

A new IP. Why do people act like Retro can only make Metroid and DKC games?

What's wrong with alternating between two IPs?

I'd rather want Retro to make something they haven't done before (either a new IP or an IP they haven't touched yet) than Metroid TBH.

Today's amiibo restocks by Nintendo UK Online Store with dispatch on 16th June really makes me think Amiibo Land is happening (or some other name for a forced amiibo game).

I don't think amiibo Land is going to happen. The reason why Nintendo made amiibo function like they do in the first place was so they can interact with multiple games instead of just one game that requires the toys.

But that statement is still true even if there's a game that requires amiibo and if you're talking about the one game with "write" support limit then that statement was proven false 3 months ago with Mario Party 10.

Mario Party 10 doesn't require any amiibo to play the game.

No it doesn't but it disproves the multiple game logic as you can't have for example 1 Mario amiibo that is both a Smash FP and used for Amiibo Party. You have to delete one of those games' data to use it in the other game.

Hopefully all these Pre-E3 announcements mean they will show actual Gameplay at E3.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

True..? But I never said that was a rule. amiibo can still interact with more than one game, despite only being able to save one game's data.

And you'd be able to do exactly the same if there was a game that requires amiibo. The write function would mean the situation would be like with Smash.

@Grumblevolcano I agree. However, I just can't see them making a ''amiibo exclusive game'' / amiibo Land of whatever you want to call it.

I want to turn Splatoon on at some point next week and be greeted with Callie and Marie interviewing Reggie after the stage news!

(...and yes...Reggie will be talking squid hee hee).

I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.

Except with Nintendo.

Ugh Nintendo, it's 2015, get with the times and give us our CG trailers, DLC, and Microtransactions already!

I think we just explained the whole industry. "Industry, start being more like Nintendo and stop ripping us off." "Nintendo, get with the times and start taking advantage of these new Features that we depend on but hate for what they turned game into" lol

DLC is the odd one out there because it's actually a good thing. Games with no DLC generally end up with a very short lifespan like Splatoon would've had a lifespan of about 3 hours if it had no DLC.

For Splatoon yes, because it's free. I mean, most companies still don't get the concept of DLC, charging 5 bucks for a costume isn't good DLC. Smash does this as well... On the other hand, Mario Kart 8 got it right.
