If they are really developing home console games for NX to present next year it's a colossal mistake. How are they going to sell another console. They should concentrate their efforts on the Wii U for at least 3 more years.
Not having Zelda U really hurt this lineup, there was something mildly interesting games shown but no megatons. B-
Actually, we didn't even get a release date, not even a release window for Star Fox Zero. I assume it's November or something, but nothing is confirmed.
It was alright, but there weren't many Wii U games shown. I honestly wouldn't be shocked if the NX gets released next year.
Considering that the Wii U was already set for 2015 and early 2016, and that's all Nintendo said they were going to show, I wouldn't draw conclusions based on that.
NX is coming out next year, it's just going to be a handheld.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

You are aware that would give the Wii U a 6-7 year life span right? That's more than what they give to their BEST selling systems.

So? The best selling system (Wii) had technological problems, you needed to move to HD... the Wii U has no such limitations.
I really feel bad for those people who invested in a New 3DS.
Why?
There are seemingly no games unique for it, or the regular 3DS, that are coming down the pipe. I think that hardware revision will not be looked at fondly in the future.
Assuming they bought it only for the prospect of playing N3DS exclusive games.
It was sold as new hardware, more powerful than the original, and it was said new games that would only be playable on it would be coming.
So far, it's been a $200 investment that...
A) allows original 3DS games to load up a few seconds faster than normal
B) improved 3D, which many people don't utilize anyway
C) added a nub that only works in maybe 5-8 games
Oh, but you can play a port of Xenoblade on it. That's all so far.
Nintendo has very clearly given up on 3DS/Wii U and have moved onto NX.
Just look at the apparent lack of effort put into making the Star Fox game. It looks like a slightly remastered version of Star Fox 64. The graphics are bland. There are eShop games that are better looking than this for gods sake. It's clear Nintendo is just rushing this out the door. Games like MK8 and Bayonetta were made with care, Star Fox isn't/wasn't.

Wii U doesn't seem to be over yet, there's several games that haven't been shown off yet. Zelda is delayed. We still know nothing about what Retro and Next Level are working on. Pokken is likely to get a Wii U port. There's another Mario game in development. I think the Wii U is getting one last wave of games in 2016 and then it's moving on.
