I also watched Sugar Sugar Rune and that was interesting as well. Have you watched Heroman and Tegami Bachi?

I have not watched either. Tegami Batchi I'll get to once all the episodes are available. Heroman looks like good fun Super Robot Anime, but that stuff just ain't my style really, and when I do watch it, I usually stick to more well know brands such as Gurren Lagann and Mazin Kaiser. I'll give it a chance someday, as it does look like quality stuff, but not anytime soon. I'm kinda booked as far as anime gets, especially since I like to only watch one show at a time.

WOW, I recently started watching some of One Piece, and I must say I take back every negative thing I said about that show! The later episodes are truly amazing, and the characters are ecclectic, well-developed, and interesting. I like the plots and sub-plots they have as they go. It really is a good show. Too bad there's just too much for me to get caught up, but I'll just follow it as the new episodes show up and I'll read the wikis for the characters.

Glad to hear you are enjoying One Piece. Personally, I think One Piece is a masterpiece and the best anime/manga series ever, or at least it is better than Bleach and Naruto. If you ever get more free time in the future, you should watch at least some of the episodes you have skipped watching. Reading about the plot on One Piece Wiki and actually watching the episodes are two totally different experiences.

So, I have now watched Neon Genesis Evangelion and End of Evangelion

I thought that Neon Genesis became a little uneven. The mood just kind of suddenly changed and everything else went out the window. Needed some consistency.

End seemed much more fitting to the rest of the show. Although, the end was a bit too abstract for me.

Overall, I feel that the show wasn't that great and RahXephon (which is really similar) was handled much better. I suppose I should watch 1.0 and 2.0 now. Was there another one...?

3.0 and 4.0 aren't out yet. As for the unevenness, if Wikipedia is anything to go by, there's an interesting story behind it...though I'm too tired right now to reiterate it.

I just watched End of Evangelion as well... it seems to me they could've just as well ended it with the last episode. EoE took an already abstract ending and muddled up even more (Not to mention it ends on a much more depressing note than the series did). I almost wish I could unsee the movie altogether.

So.... on that note- does anyone have any lighthearted anime to recommend?

Baccano! is good and mostly lighthearted. It does have a lot of blood. If you haven't yet, you should check out Eureka 7.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've actually been thinking about watching Baccano! anyway, so thanks for reminding me.

Does anyone know of a site where one can watch the live action drama series for Case Closed (Detective Conan) online?

Earlier this evening I did a search in iTunes and I couldn't find any Cased Closed episodes and I'm wondering if I should e-mail Apple and express my disappointment in their lack of anime. I'm really disappointed and surprised at the lack of anime in Apple iTunes. Sony's PSN has a better selection of anime. I hope that with the launch of the NGP they'll add even more anime. Perhaps Nintendo will also offer anime on the 3DS.

Thank you very much Mickeymac. I think I'll try contacting Viz Media and Toei Entertainment in regards to iTunes.

@armoredghor, which site are you watching the English dubs of Fruits Basket at? I'd like to watch that anime very much.

http://www.toonamiarsenal.com/ - Straight from Toonami, so I'm sure it's legal.

Hulu has Fruits Basket.

Also, Viz Media and Toei are actually good supporters of iTunes. The problem is the shows you're looking for aren't from those companies. Gundam, for instance, is owned by Bandai Entertainment, who have not really been supporting iTunes much at all.

^I could never get into Fruits Basket, although according to the people on the anime forum I frequent, that puts me in a minority.

I've been watching a lot of anime lately, more so than I have been gaming. Checked out Crunchyroll a while ago and watchged a few episodes there. Saw Gundam ep. 10, realizing that not every show on there is Subbed...just almost every show. Also saw Shugo Chara and man was it weird, though maybe it's because I haven't seen anything like it in a long time. Ended it with an episode of Reborn, which was cool, but the show is too long to keep up with. Now I'm watching Super Dimension Century Orguss 02 and Mazinkaiser, which are fantastic so far. Gaint Robots rule!

To me there's two factors, which are A) which one you happened to hear first, and B) the quality of a particular dub. For the former, if you heard the sub first, then usually the dub won't live up to it, and vice versa. For the latter, even if subs are your preference, a good dub can still sway you; there's dubs so good that they surpass their subs (Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop come to mind).

As for my personal preference, I like both equally...

"Don't make enemies, they'll stab your heart; don't make friends, they'll stab your back. Including me, including you, all men are trash. Don't love; don't be loved. Have nothing to do with other; live in isolation."

FonistofCruxis

I watch most anime subbed but thats obly because not all anime have decent dubs. I still watch some anime dubbed if it has a good dub like The melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and D.gray man. It would be good if there was a dub of Bakuman because the characters sometimes speak faster than I can read the subs which means I have to pause and go back a few seconds but I haven't had to do that with Bakuman too much lately. Although, if they did make an english dub of Bakuman, I probably wouldn't watch it because I would probably be ahead of it and I'd be used to the Japanese voices.
