Cartoon Network is a serious abomination nowadays. They pretty much got rid of all their anime and just filled it with crappy live-action junk. Seriously? its called CARTOON Network.
You're right! Cartoon Network is an abomination and so much more. However, they do still have some things worth watching such as Chowder, Generator Rex, Sym-Bionic Titans, Star Wars The Clone Wars, Ben10 and The Marvelous Misadventures of Flap Jack. However, they channel isn't as good as it used to be! Honestly, it is nothing more than a sign of the times for a channel called "Cartoon Network" to airing live action programming, especially BAD, HORRIBLE live action programs like what they've been airing lately.
I think that Cartoon Network will improve for the better next year when they get Young Justice, Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Ankama Games Wakfu tie-in anime. Right now I'm getting ready to watch Soul Eater on Hulu.com and then I'll go back to One Piece!

the worst part is that I pretty much have to still watch it as it's the only channel with any new good cartoons anymore
What about...no, wait, that's only on Digital. But then there's...wait, no, they're gone. I guess there is no other channels with decent cartoons anymore, huh? I'm calling a conspiracy! CN's building a monopoly! D=
no it's just horrible executives and the creators of good shows that work for them. Or something. Probably because CN allows a bit more darker stuff on the shows they show.

Thank you for reminding me why I'm so happy that I'm as old as I am instead of 10 years younger. I know they're kid's shows, so I'm probably much too old to judge, but I just didn't like any of those shows you listed outside of Ben 10, which is awesome (and why wouldn't it be awesome? It's a comic book-style action show that's not based on an actual comic book).
And they're really making another Green Lanturn TV series, finally? I might have to go check that out. I loved the old '80s one from back when I was a kid.
Oh, and Good Luck with Soul Eaters, dude. It's a pretty good show, even if it's not the kinda thing I like to watch.
As for One Piece, while I still don't like it, I'd say it's the lesser of three evils: At least it doesn't drag its feet while running in circles like Naruto does, nor has it lost focus and become thoroughly padded with filler the way Bleach has. If I was strapped to a chair and forced to watch any of those three for any length of time, One Piece would be the best I could could hope for.
Are there any other sites good sites similar to cruchyroll.com, hulu.com and joost.com?
Anime News Network, which is the one I use the most. It has some of its own shows, and it's also a portal that shows videos featured on other sites, such as Hulu. It only has more recent shows, however, and it mostly has Subs.
Thanks Mickeymac. Sadly, I bailed out on that WEIRD and strange Soul Eater. Man, that gave me the leechie creepies! That's weirder than any thing Tim Burton, Rod Serling and Del Toro have ever put together.
Anyway, episode 10 of One Piece has a major callout to Michael Jackson but I won't say a thing more as the title of this thread says "no spoilers please".

@mickeymac Because of how far I am in Naruto and Bleach, I can understand your criticisms but I still think Naruto and Bleach are great anime but I don't like them as much as I used to and I prefer some of the other anime I watch now.

Sym-Bionic Titan had CAR GRINDING ON A BRIDGE. You fail by default. (even though I do hate the rest you bolded)
Jeez. Is it a written requirement that every single mention of Cartoon Network on this site must result in a ridiculously massive thread derail about how much it does or doesn't suck? It's a TV station that airs cartoons aimed primarily at a much lower age group than most of you. That's not a dig at watching stuff "too young" for you, especially given most of us here play Super Mario and Pokémon, but your mileage is going to vary with their content at some point. Normally about the time you realise the shows they aired when you were twelve years old were the greatest programs ever produced, by any broadcaster, ever.
Anyway, on topic, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood Volume 2 is out pretty soon, whoo. And unless I find a halfway decent rental store, I've pretty much run out of anime for the time being (asides FMA). Still need to find some free time to watch Whisper Of The Heart and The Cat Returns, the former of which my library is starting to get a tad angsty about the number of times I've renewed it. Whoops~
@Raylax, Apparently, you haven't been watching Cartoon Network lately. While it isn't as far gone as Disney Channel is, the channel still has some serious issues. It isn't by definition "a kids channel" in any sense of the word. Cartoon Network is trying to draw in an older audience. The programming on Cartoon Network is much broader now as they aiming to get children, teens and young adults all while reaching those who grew up with the channel back in the early 90's.
However, the channel is in an abysmal state. All one has to do is head over to answers.yahoo.com and type in "cartoon network" and you'll see people all over the world as appaled at the state of the channel. The only shows getting praise world wide on Cartoon Network are "Ben10", "Star Wars: The Clone Wars", "Adventure Time" and "Sym-Bionic Titans" and that is a fact. Pick up an issue of Animation Magazine for more if you don't believe me. The channel has pure crap mostly such as MADtv, Total Drama Island (shivers, vomits and chokes) and Regular Show! Boy, I can't stand that bottomless pit of a show (Total Drama Island)
But lets face it, they are trying to fix the channel and the ongoing Ben10, along with Star Wars The Clone Wars, Prep Tower, The Marvelous Misadventures of FlapJack, Generator Rex, Young Justice, Green Lantern: The Animated Series ThunderCats: The Next Generation, Looney Tunes 2011 and the quiet ordering of Wakfu all point to an effort of Cartoon Network executives to fix and heal the channel.
Anyway I'm seriously enjoying One Piece! Now I'm off to do some level grinding in Maple Story!

I shall be completely honest, that's how far I read. Fact is, I don't care how bad or good CN is, or how much it has or hasn't declined. This is an anime thread, can we talk about anime?
Agreed. Hell, the only reason Cartoon Network was worth mentioning was because it was essentially the reason why anime had any level of main stream appeal, but I'm afraid that time has long since past, and CN is no longer relevent to this topic.
So, back on topic: If anybody's looking for a good comedic anime with a lot of over-the-top gunfights and a western theme, I'd whole-heartedly recommend Trigun. It's really awesome, and I love the characters. It's also got a pretty good story to it, though it's not really the focus and is revealed slowly over time. I normally don't like it when the action is over-the-top, but it's actually pretty cool and pretty classy in Trigun. At the very least it always keeps you guessing, which ends up helping the comedy aspect quite a bit. It's certainly a comedy first and foremost, so don't expect anything like Cowboy Bebop or Outlaw Star, but otherwise I'd say it's one helluva good show and definitely worth your while. And if you're interested in other anime westerns, I'd also recommend Wild Arms and Gun Frontier. I'm probably forgetting another good one, but those, along with Trigun, are my favorites.
You wont think Trigun is a comedy once you get to the second half. If this is your first time through is starts off very funny and never takes itself to seriously. Then comes the second half and holy crap it gets good once the plot starts to show. Just wait till the eye of dioblos episode. Its Eva like when the plot twists but for the good. Its one of my favorite episode in anime period!!

I watched it for a time on Adult Swim, but I don't remember it getting very serious. I'm rewatching it, so I'll see if it does get serious like you say.

Episode 2. By Rewatching, I meant rewatching right now.
I enjoyed the Trigun manga, but there are too many Trigun Maximum volumes for me to buy all of them. I gave up on it lol. Good read, although the manga-ka's style is very messy!

Yeah, I checked out the manga a bit, the anime looks much better (as far as the art style goes). I wonder if they'll ever adapt Trigun Maximum into an anime? I doubt it, but it would still be cool.
Well yes, CN has derailed the thread just like it derailed itself of quality. But its still relevant, really. Just like talking about how the anime industry (especially in the US) is near death thanks to piracy.
