I personally enjoyed it, Once I realized what it was about.

I've been meaning to get to it for a while, but I've never really found the urge to watch it.

I remember being so excited for it when it was announced, but it in the time it took for it to come out I completely forgot about it. I really need to see it now...hmm...

@GundamMac earlier post
The main characters of Digimon Data Squad/Savers did that too. Seems to be something they want to keep doing from now on.

Also, I love Shaman King so much. Last time I saw it was years ago. It's a real great anime. Although I heard the manga's ending is different, longer, and better. Got to check it out some time.

I haven't seen the Black Rock Shooter OVA yet, but I have watched the first episode in the TV series. Did not know what was going on.
On an unrelated matter, stuff just hit the fan in Guilty Crown. O_O

Well I've seen most of the original series, all of Zeta & Double Zeta, G Fighter, Gundam X, Gundam Astray Shorts, SD Gundam Brave Battle Warriors, Gundam 00, Gundam Unicorn (ongoing), Gundam Wing and I'm still catching up with Gundam Age... I have skipped Gundam Seed, but that's mainly because it was a modern retelling of the original series (much like 00/Wing). I know I missed a few series... but it's about 1am here at the moment. :chuckle: Oh and I'm a master at Gundam Dynasty Warriors 3.

I really enjoy Gundam & am really glad to hear that the 1:1 Gundam RX-78-2 has been restored following the tsunami, and where better than at the Gundam Museum?!

I saw it a long while ago, it's a very beautiful OAV and used a lot of the more modern production techniques... not my favourite but I'll choose it over Panty & Stocking any day!

Aah, well I'm a nut about manga so that's where MOST of my money goes now adays (I do have a VERy bursting HDD too)... how could one live without their Battle Angel Alita Last Orders fix? I definitely advise checking out Nyan Koi... I'll maybe dig up some more suggestions. Though of course I guess neither of us need more (work)!

Haha, yeah, can't say I need more to watch. And I see you've watched a fair amount of the series, though I will say this, Gundam SEED is only a "retelling" for the first half, then it starts its own thing. As for myself, I'm only missing the the SD Shorts and OVAs, the Gundam Evolved shorts, Awakening of the Trailblazer movie, and the Stargazer ONA, and I'm currently watching Victory Gundam, Gundam AGE, and Gundam UC.

I tried watching it on Niconico Douga (which was the only legal stream I could find) and yeah, the video quality is crap, like 240p and it took forever for me to load. I hate to say it, but look for a fansub, shouldn't be too hard to find.

With Gundam Mac here. I watched a fansub, though I got it from a friend who recommended Black Rock Shooter to me ssooo...

Just got finished with the first Faust VIII match. First off, it was incredible. Best fight in the show so far. Second of all, yeah they didn't cut open Manta, they did something better by having his hands fase into his body so he could mess with his organs without doing something that would realistically kill him in minutes if he's not rushed to the hospital.

I'm like that with games. Never seem to get round to playing some of them. But while I do have a small number of unwatched Anime DVDs, I do watch them. The backlog is mainly from buying lots of stuff when it's dropped in price.

Heh, I like your use of the word 'better' there - I think the whole point of Manta being cut open in the manga WAS that Yoh thought Manta was in immediate mortal peril and genuinely panicked... if I remember correctly Yoh's first comment was "don't worry, if you die I'll let you be my ghost". But as I said, each to their own, but did they cut out Ren's father squashing panda's to death with his bare hands?? THAT would be an improvement.

It's personal preference really, not even prefering manga to animé as there are a lot of animé that surpases the manga (mostly animé that came before the manga). Wierdly enough one series that I enjoyed was actually Full Metal Panic Fomoffu, which was am animé based on an animé, based on a manga. The manga started as a hilarious high school comedy with a soldier sent to highschool to protect a young girl... then the animé stripped all the comedy out & replaced it with action. It wasn't until the second go that they got it right - and made it more comdicentric.

What other series do you like Mac & peeps? Anyone else a Tenchi Muyo fan? Anyone HEARD of Project A-ko? And is it just me that actually found Claymore really good (in subs)? All these questions and more to be answered in next weeks episode of SAMURAI PIZZA CATS!!

I don't tend to get that many games myself, though there are some I've NEVER played... not even sure where my copy of BlazBlue is but the box does sure look pretty! My backlog is from animé conventions. It's not unusual to spend £300+. :sigh:

I suggest AnimeTake or Nyaa Torrents, they usually have the latest episodes.

Though remember kids! If you download it, remember to buy it when it's released or the big bad SOPA will get you! :looks aroun d to see if PIPA is spying on him:

Oh, he was still in mortal peril. It's just that now it was something less shock-worthy, and something he can realistically survive from when it all ended. The match went on so long, that if he was cut open, he wouldn't have lasted long enough for them to get him to a hospital. You're right that it's down to taste, but I just can't stand shock-value, especially when logic is sacrificed for it.

I think you have that backwards. The first season was very comedic. So much so that I just couldn't watch it. I like my Mecha shows to be serious and story driven, which is why I enjoyed the second season, which stripped out most of the comedy for actual action and story.

I like Tenchi Muyo, even Tenchi in Tokyo, which I enjoyed more than the other seasons, since it excentuated the most important part of the show: Its comedy.

I've heard of Project A-Ko, but never got around to watching it. It's on my to-watch list.

A lot of us are fans of Claymore (though I watched it, and damn near every other show I watch that has it, dubbed). I even started reading the manga so I can find out the good ending. Had trouble finding out where they diverged, though. I still prefer Berserk, though.

For other shows I like, there's pretty much every mecha show that ever got translated into english, particularly Gundam; some Super Robot shows (Shin Mazinger Z, Mazinkaiser, Getter Robo, Getter Robo Armageddon, Dancougar, Gaiking, GaoGaiGar, Evangelion, Gurren Lagann, Ideon, Gunbuster, Big-O, Giant Robo, Zoids, RahXephon);Non giant robot sci-fi anime (Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Captain Harlock, The Third, Legend of the Galactic Heroes); Some Psychological/Mystery Anime (Kaiba, Paranoia Agent, Death Note, Monster, FLCL); Action/Adventure Anime (Berserk, Claymore, FullMetal Alchemist/Brotherhood, Ghost in the Shell, Highschool of the Dead, S-Cry-ed, Samurai Shamploo, Soul Eater, Shaman King, One Piece, Trigun, Hunter X Hunter, Yu-Yu Hakusho, Dragon Ball, Bleach); Fantasy Anime (Record of Lodoss Wars, Tears to Tiara, .hack//SIGN, Slayers, Bastard!!); Some comedy anime (Sgt Frog, Ah My Goddess, Irresponsible Captain Taylor, Ramna 1/2, Urusei Yatsura); Some Magical Girl Anime (Magic Knight Rayearth, Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, Princess Tutu, Petite Princess Yucie); Some Drama (Angel Beats, Clannad, Air, Kanon, Habanei Renmei); And Some Slice of Life (Maison Ikkoku, Kigarume Orange Road, Touch, Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei, Welcome to NHK).

I'm the same way with games, too, as my Backloggery should surely prove. It doesn't help that I've been spending more time watching anime than playing games these past few years.

You say this, yet the fight itself has Doctor Faustus replace one of the bones in his own leg using a knife, a needle and some non-prescription drugs? Plus I found it funny because Manta shot blood everytime Yoh said something stupid. I don't mind a little logic excised in the place of humour. Gosh... this is starting to sound like an argument!! I am SO sorry! Was just meant to be an aside mention! :bows in apology:

Really? I personally preferred the OAV Ryo-Ohki, mainly because of the way it developed the story - making sure there was enough character development without sacrificing the comedy/action balance. Tokyo was good though, but it just seemed to drop the plot too often in exchange for out & out wackiness.

@GundamMac: Man, that's a long list of favorites, but there's a lot of good series on it (Samurai Champloo being the best one, in my opinion)...

Yeah, I never thought the plot in Tenchi Muyo was anything worth following, so dropping the plot in exchange for humor was the best choice in my opinion.

I suppose if you go back and watch it, that might seem the case, but at the time it was more fresh as we didn't have the abundance of harem animé that we do nowadays. Plus there are plenty of deeper parts of the plot to consider should you look into it such as Washu's real identity. Though having the follow-on mangas did help as they further develop everything.

Wow, quite a lot of shows, including a lot I haven't seen before. I'm rather impressed. I'd say you've seen more than I have (which shouldn't be too hard, since I've only been big on anime for 2 years now, but still).

Quite an accomplishment. I bet if they still work he'd fetch quite a penny for them. And yeah, I haven't seen it in years, either. I always wondered why I kept liking it despite the fact that it annoyed me, but I guess it was because there was a good show under the reworked script, edits, and bad voice acting.

Edit:

BTW, apparently Bleach is on its last arc. Looks like it'll be the first of the big 3 to go.

You have a source for this? If this is true, I'm glad it'll finally be put out of its misery. The only downside to this is that there'll be no more Tatsuki. Oh, well, there's always fan art...

Got it straight from the source. If you look down the page you see "WJ vol.11 on sale 13/2/2012(Mon)! Open with color pages of "BLEACH"! Starting the final chapter!"
