I too enjoyed Toradora. Glad you enjoyed it too. Also have yet to watch Honey & Clover. I've heard it's good. But I have no idea how to watch it. >_>
Normally I'd suggest going for the DVD Box set, but I don't know what site you'd use in Australia, and getting it directly from Madman would set you back $180 for the whole series. That's almost $5 an episode. A real rip-off if you ask me. Do you have Firefox?

Yes I have firefox. That's my preferred browser anyway. Also yeah, total rip-off. But things are generally more expensive in Australia which is just absolutely ridiculous as our currency is almost par with that of the US anyway. Additionally, Australia is always left out when it comes to certain things, for example I cannot access some stuff in Crunchyroll or niconico because it is not available in my region. **sigh*

Actually, that's how much they're charging in the U.S., too. Thankfully it's also on Hulu. Anyways, get the Stealthy add-on. It'll let you watch stuff outside of your region.
Sailor Moon ep. 1 (Toonami Cut) - Starting to think half the reason I disliked this show was because of the edits and the voice acting. Most of the English VA is annoying and quite honestly bad, and the edits are annoyingly noticeable. Not to mention I just found it rather lame all together.
Sailor Moon ep. 1 (Uncut Raw) - Why is this so much more enjoyable when I don't understand what's going on? Seriously, this same episode that I thought was annoying is now rather fun. Now that none of the edits are there, more of the visual jokes are left intact, and the Japanese VA at least has more emotion in it, even if I can't quite tell if it's really better. And then there's this:
I see stuff like this all the time in anime and don't really think much of it, but since I was so focused on what was going on on-screen, little things like that really stood out to me. In fact, I burst out laughing when I saw that, and rewond and rewatched it, like, 3 times.
Seriously, I feel like a little kid again. If I can find this show subbed and uncut, I might give it a full rewatch someday. Heck, if I can find the raws, I'll watch those, too, just for fun.

Man, I haven't seen Sailor Moon in years. I know one of my friends has a whole box full of VHS Sailor Moon episodes...

Btw, any body remember Shaman King? I just started rewatching it, and I must say, it's even better than I remember, at least so far. Episode 1 set the show up quite nicely. The story of the Samurai and the Sword Maker in episode 2 was rather touching. The action in episodes 3 and 4 were great. Episode 5 was funny. I loved the ending of episode 7, where Tao Lun actually learns her lesson, and Pailong decides to tag along with her so he can continue his dream of perfecting his martial arts. Episode 8 was pretty cool, too, with the Ninja and the weird-haired guy deciding to become a Shaman.
Er, to sum things up better, the little stories and the characters so far have been very enjoyable, and the action and humor are there in just the right amounts and are well excecuted while still being appropriate for chilldren. Rather refreshing from Hunter X Hunter (which had to little action) and Soul Eater (which was not child appropriate).
I remember the US version. I'm watching the original. There doesn't seem to be much of a difference, actually. There's not even any blood or sexual references to edit out.
I don't follow anime on a season-by-season basis (in fact, I don't think anyone here does). It's tough enough keeping up with the classics, let alone the current stuff. I have a to-watch list with literally over 300 anime on it, so I don't really have the time to waste on stuff I'm not sure about. The only anime I'm really keeping up with is Gundam and Hunter X Hunter, and I usually wait until the season's over before I watch any of those, so I can marathon the episodes in a day or two. Otherwise I just wait until a series has ended and see what people say about it. There hasn't been much new note-worthy anime this year, judging from what I've heard. There's Madoka, Tiger X Bunny, the new Hunter X Hunter, and [C], which I'll be/already have checked out, and other people seem to be enjoying Blue Excorsist and Nichijou, though they aren't my style.

^Didn't Tai and Matt do that at some point?
If it did happen then it probably either happened in one of the movies or it happened off-screen, as the only fight between them I can recall is the fight where Matt becomes untrustworthy of Tai's leadership and that conflict ended with Matt splitting away from the group, still un-trusting of Tai's position of leader.

What anime have you started and from the first couple of episodes thought, "I am going to LOVE this!"
Started watching Birdy the Mighty Decode last night and this is one of them. Others have been Death Note, Code Geass and Lucky Star.
Most shows I watch are like that. Off the top of my head, there's Gundam X, Code Geass, Hunter X Hunter, Soul Eater, Shaman King, Magic Knight Rayearth, Trigun, Nadia, .hack//SIGN, Cutie Honey, Princess Tutu, Berserk, Sailor Moon (subbed), Angel Beats, One Piece, Captain Harlock, Sgt. Frog, Mazinkaiser, Petite Princess Yucie, Robotech...I could go on, but I think you get the point. I think it just comes from watching anime for a long time and learning what to expect from a good show. Or maybe it's a sixth sense. Who knows?

To be honest, I was mostly thinking of the manga, as there is a lot more death and references to it... obviously Doctor Faustus cutting open Manta during his first battle with Yoh didn't make it into the US cut (unless there was an "unedited version I missed") and even the bit where Faustus replaces the bones in his legs was missing. But mostly I disliked character changes such as Manta becoming Mortimer or Ren (the Chinese warrior) becoming Len (the English fop). Each to their own!

It seems we share some taste there Mac, I absolutely adore Princess Tutu, Mazinkaizer, Soul Eater & .Hack//LotTB, all series which didn't get enough attention on release due to the big over promoted shonen series out at the time like Bleach and Fairy Tail. I generally tend to download a couple of episodes before deciding whether or not to pick up a series as you can't always tell whether a series will be good from reading reviews online. The synopsis for Chobits or Nyan Koi sound terrible but they're both considered classics now.

I'm watching the uncut version right now, so I'll let you know if that happens. As for little name changes, Mortimer sounds like a better name than Manta, actually.

Yeah, most of the shows I'm big on aren't too popular, at least outside Japan. Not even Gundam is well-known around here...

I almost never read reviews until after I'm done with a show, and then I rarely agree with them.

Same here, at least in terms of Numbers. I've seen way worse, though. I know people with hundreds of DVDs that they haven't even watched yet in their collection!
BTW, have you seen any other Gundam show besides AGE?
