I cleared Game 2 because I just wanted to. Game 2 is probably the best sample game of all the 5.
@swordx Is it like a sidequest? Because talking to the boy is all this game has.
About my QR Reader, should I go call Nintendo about it? The reinstallation didn't work, and I don't know what else to do.

Testing your alternate method, yes, yours is faster by 3 frames in a 4001 iteration loop due to reading 2 variables instead of 1 variable, 2 fixed numbers, and doing an addition operation, and by all accounts, more readable.

But you impress me every time you post. That's the most important thing. Thanks for checking things out.
I'm still miffed that accessing variables somehow flattens execution time. There's probably a technical reason for that, but I'm not going to worry about it.

I put an e at the end too! Its not just Swordx that does it.

I didn't know that's how they did it in version 1. I also didn't know they only have IF-THEN, instead of IF-THEN-ELSE. I guess we got the better version, albeit minus the TALK command.

Oh, and I'm completely stumped by something, and I was wondering if anybody could help me out (@Discostew? Sorry everyone always jumps to you lol). I'm trying to load a dynamic set of sprites into one of the touchscreen sprite pages for a Solitaire game. I have 4 sprite sheets that I load into SPU0-3, then I load the 4th sprite again as SPS0 (the 4th sprite sheet contains the backs of cards). This looks like:

LOAD "SPU0:CARD0",FALSE
LOAD "SPU1:CARD1",FALSE
LOAD "SPU2:CARD2",FALSE
LOAD "SPU3:CARD3",FALSE
LOAD "SPS0:CARD3",FALSE

If I try to use sprites on the touch screen, they show up correctly as the sprites I drew on the CARD3 page. However, I want to load sprites dynamically into the SPS0 page, so I tested it out with this:

FOR I=0 TO 63
CHRSET "SPS0", I, EMPTYSP$
NEXT

Where "EMPTYSP$" is a hex string filled with 0's. However, either CHRSET doesn't work on SPS0 (it doesn't give any syntax errors though), or I'm doing something wrong, because the bottom screen sprites remain unchanged. Like I said before, no errors are given at all, so it's obviously fine with me passing in "SPS0". If I change the "SPS0" to "SPU0", it correctly blanks all the sprites on that sprite sheet (the spades suit cards don't show up). Am I just not allowed to set the bottom screen sprites myself? If so... that really stinks!

1 Edit screen. You need to fit it 28x24 character that is the editor.

As I understand it, the bottom screen does not take custom sprites. Have you tried it with top screen? You should be able to load sprites using strings.

I even said it worked in my post: "If I try to use sprites on the touch screen, they show up correctly as the sprites I drew on the CARD3 page". I believe @Discostew is the one who wrote up the how-to on custom touch-screen sprites. The thing that isn't working is "CHRSET on the touchscreen", not sprites in general on the touchscreen.

Edit: I also said it works on the top screen in the text you quoted. Just saying... sorry for bringing it up lol.

Oh, that's right. There is a special sprite page for the bottom screen. As I understand it, you need to be careful in setting and resetting it, or it will mess up your cursor and other things. That's why I decided to never use that, and promptly forget about it.

I hope somebody knows what's going on with CHRSET on the touchscreen. If not... I won't be able to make smooth animations for Solitaire! I'll have to draw the cards you're dragging with GPUTCHR. EWWWWWW.

I didn't understand much from the video, but It looks like those who are in second place (or nominated) also get a prize. They might have sent me an email because I entered my address incorrectly, for they asked for my address. It looks like the nominees get the stickers mentioned at the beginning (or maybe the original soundtrack, but I doubt it). Still, the fact that the president of Smileboom played and nominated my game for the presidents award is big to me.

I probably misspelled something though :/

For some strange reason, PTCUtilities won't let me use the classic Minecraft grass block from alpha as 4 background tiles with a COL. The COL gets loaded, but on PTC, the Grass block still looks like a mess while other textures from Minecraft work just fine with their appropriate COL files.

Has anyone heard about the 2DS. if not Google it. I think ill get it for the cheaper price and more games. BTW is there any way to transfer games I made from one ds to the other without using QRs
