Don't quit on yours though! Maybe that one can give you more ideas or something. I'm a terrible person for pointing out that this has already been done... aren't I?
I know that feeling. Were you pasting in code? Cause if so, I found a trick on how to paste in code without it crashing.
yeah I was pasting in code. u_u
and now i'm having sprite display issues. This didn't happen to me with my lttp game. I'm trying to figure out and remember how I told ptc utilities the size of my sprite set.. .I think it's automatic though :/ hrmmm
AHA! all I'm getting is a piece of mario's head. they're supposed to be 32 by 32. DAMNIT >.<

No, your not a horrible person... I was almost certain it was not new, but even though it isn't, now I feel that I shared the idea a little bit.
1. The processing power required to do full 3d games using this technique is insane. Without any WAIT commands and only 1 VSYNC command, it still takes about half a second to rotate my cube only 90 degrees.
2. It took me all day today to develop the algorithms in using for rotation, and they only rotate the cube one way. It would take forever to make enough for a game that is even considered 3d.
3. It'd be virtually impossible to make enough algorithms for a full 3d game, and even if one of us did, it'd be so slow that it'd be unplayable.
But don't let this discourage you! Learn more about arrays, graphics, etc. and experiment some yourself! You may find a way to do it that I don't know!
If Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy & paste this into your signature and hope it happens.

To paste in code without a crash, first type an apostrophe.
'
Then paste your code
'PRINT "Hi"
WAIT 60
Finally, delete the apostrophe!
PRINT "Hi"
WAIT 60
Tada! You pasted in code without it crashing!

I'm still having issues omg it's making me angry!! why petit computer are you so stupid.
U_u
I have to seriously make timers for every movement.. i'm too lazy for that. this is dumb I don't want to create another frame timer counter piece of... doggy doo. >.>
This is silly..
Lol.
-takes a break- I have mario animated and moving.
his pallete wont load correctly.
his movement is sporatic and indefinite.
hard to play.. I have to fix this.
no QR codes yet because it's not even complete! But I have some sprites working I'd hardly call it a demo yet.
Well I have some movement working now.
Hooray. Mario can move... right.
YAY.
Good news..
I fixed my pallete issue
For SOME reason when I load to COl0 it never effects sprites. at all.
o.0
I don't know why.
This might actually solve my lttp problem. HOORAY!

So I was working on rarities for ores in Village when I got a little paranoid: after quite a lot of ores generated, I had the same amount of copper as I did diamonds. This was odd, considering there's a 10% chance for copper and something like 4% for diamonds. I thought it might have something to do with the distribution of random numbers... maybe Petit Computer's random number generator wasn't good at getting an even distribution. So I ran some tests.
Ehh, I'll skip the details and just get straight to the results: Petit Computer's distribution is relatively even. It does not lean towards any particular range.

@randomous Been playing the 3D game you posted a link to. I feel like a noob again. D: One thing I was able to improve is that I added my bukkit chat to the game, accessible thru the A button. Also doing this, using /quality <number> you can change the quality in-game! Does anyone think the creator of the actual "game" would mind if I posted the codes I have? If he would not appreciate if I did it, I'll just post the chat raw.

Good, because I use RND quite often for AI.
Using RND for AI isn't the best solution or approach.
I could offer a better approach.
Make a few variables the AI has access to that are entirely based on the state of the game.
Have the AI refer to those "game states" and make choices based on whether it's losing, winning, has low health, the player is vulnerable. etc.
That helps. I hope.

Actually, my more complex enemies (such as bosses) already do this. However, I haven't even finished programming the first dungeon (almost done), so I'm using simpl AI in order to keep the game easier at this stage. Trust me, I understand how to make good AI.

Ohh I see. I'm sorry I didn't mean to come off as a know-it-all or as insulting.
I was just trying to help. I'd be interested and curious to see how others do their AI, actually. :3

I understand. No one wants to see a game here enemies just mindlessly move around. I'm actually about to program a new enemy (it will be featured in tonight's DA 2 video) that doesn't use RND often.
