Is this game worth a buy just to play others' games? I see no future for myself in BASIC, but I'm eager to try some things made using Petit Computer.

I have just started making a new game! Its a first person RPG,and it will be using SCRED files to show you what the room or area looks like, and you have to type commands to interact with things in the game,so lets say in the beginning of the game you are in a room with a key and a door, and to open the door you have to use the key so to take the key you have to type "take key".... I have made a few areas so far and i will add more and more stuff while i'm learning more BASIC. Thoughts.comments.etc

You may want to do sprites instead...Othetwise that will be...a lot of QR codes. I'll download it either way, as it sounds quite fun. It sounds like Zork with visuals.

Yeah,i know it would be better with sprites but i'm not real good with locating sprites to a bunch of different spots but i might load some sprites in the game so it looks like the sprite(s) is in the SCRED file. And it should be a little bit like Zork.
Is it possible in PTC to make a "Witch's House" clone?
If Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy & paste this into your signature and hope it happens.

It could be like Sierra Online's Mystery House. That was their first game. You could use GLINE or other graphics commands. I'm trying to work on 3D programming but I have no time to program. My thought is to take two circle halves. One on the top an one on the bottom. Have points defined in three arrays. Rotate them about the circles. Have another array or set of arrays to store lines between points. Good luck on your game.
I don't really know any graphic commands,i really only know commands to make text-like games.

Same here. I know pretty much every text command, but I know nothing about sprites/drawing/etc.

Augh I shouldn't have spent my money on this I wanted to use this to learn how to program, but the manual makes no sense.
Well there goes my future goal right out the window...
...along with money I could have used for a better programming teacher.
(If you think you can change my mind I'd like to see you try.)
You sound like a whiny kid who hasn't tried enough, and wants everyone else to give him the motivation to continue on a path that might lead to a better future for you. Just saying
I don't have a 3DS so what do I put here? -Damolii
I think we should start a group. A group dedicated to making quality games on petit computer. Group projects often turn out better than those made by single people. I'm proposing we start such a group and create an online chat system, or an online forum dedicated to said group seperate from nintendolife so that progress can be made. :3 and awesome games can be produced. Either that, or we all just have meetings online using chat software that works in real time.
Real time chatting is often more productive as well.
Here's a temporary chat I've created on tinychat. I don't have an account. http://tinychat.com/qbj56
You can talk about Petit computer in here, and get live responses while I'm in there. I will save the URL and return to it frequently.
Be polite in the chat. And please wait to have questions answered. If you have a question and I'm logged in I will try to respond ASAP.
Some of you may get answers to your questions faster this way. I'm willing to teach what I understand so far about Petit Computer as well.
Got a project? PM ME on here!

Graphics... To start off, use GCLS to clear the screen of any graphics (pixels) that you may have added. To place a point (pixel) of color to your screen use GPSET 127, 95,7 . You should get a pixel in the center of your top screen. The first number is the x coordinate followed by the y coordinate. The last number is your color. To draw a line you don't need points to connect to. Use GLINE 0,0,255,192,7 . This will draw a line from (0,0) to (255,192). That is a diagonal line from the top left to the lower right. The fun part is using variables instead of hard coded coordinates.

Your right, I had this idea too, I want to make a groupe because I have no programming skills, but a lot of ideas, so I could give story ideas and I can draw, so can my friend, but he doesn't have a DS

It's not that hard to learn programming with Petit Computer + it's very rewarding. You'll probably have a hard time finding someone who wants to program your ideas as those of us who are programming have plenty of ideas of our own.
