Topic: Who dislikes the " 3D " aspect?

Don't get me wrong, love the graphics and screen size of the 3DS XL, but the 3D effect seems blurry to me, even at it's lowest setting. My eyes feel more comfortable with the 3D turned off. I have only played some Donkey Kong Country so far, but I assume it will be the same with the other games.

The 3D works really well with some games like Kingdom Hearts 3D, Resident Evil: Revelations, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Etrain Odyssey: MG, Super Mario 3D Land, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Luigi's Mansion 3D. etc. But there are some games like Tales of the Abyss 3D which has really blurry 3D graphics sometimes.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

the blurry 3D often happens to people with glasses(like me)
once I tried playing without glasses(luckily my vision problem is at medium to long distance so handhelds aren't affected) and the 3D felt like the best thing ever, but everytime I stay without glasses for too long I get headaches(unrelated to the 3D effect) so I decided to deal with the blur, it kinda worked....

This is the millionth thread on this subject, give or take a few hundred. My reply to these has been refined, but still remains the same:

The stereoscopic effect, misrepresented as the "3D effect," is one that will take time for some to get use too, those who are not exposed to this and stereoscopic movies at a young age will find their brains simply not accepting the extra information. Resulting in various physiological responses, often including headaches or dizziness. This effect is due to the brain attempting to focus your eyes on that median point, in which everything should be in focus evenly as it has grown use to for all video displays. The trick is to allow yourself to relax when viewing this new technology, focus on individual elements at a low setting until your brain gets the message and does so on it's own.

Face it, this is new technology, and there is always reluctance to embrace such. However, in the future, this will likely become standard, seeing as how holographic imaging is a long way off.

I know, right? I still hold out hope to see that technology before I die. No more "sweet spots" or funny glasses. But alas, we cannot expect technology to skip steps.

Well, IMO, the 3D is the best thing ever, so... no, I do not dislike it. And @jiminmichigan the 3D in DKCR is really extreme; games like MK7 and NSMB2 are much better for getting used to the 3D effect.

It depends. Sometimes I just have to turn it off because it feels like a needle being pushed into my left eye, for some reason. On the latest Ace Attorney game I pretty much never used because of this, which is weird because they are just still images after all. I recently played A Link Between Worlds and the 3D effect was incredibly comfortable to play with and didn't give me any problem. I have no idea if it's a matter of good/bad programming or what, but on some games I find it functional, while on others I find it painful.

I don't care for it and I haven't really used it for anything besides looking at my puzzle panels when they're complete and so far only the Rhythm heaven panel is the only one with the best 3D effect ever.

I don't use the 3D much but I wouldn't say I dislike it

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Yeah it's pretty useless. Would like a 2DS XL.

I think it's a very impressive effect, but I'm not really that fussed about it. While it differs from game to game, I often find it too hard to keep the sweet-spot and the slightest movement seems to cause that horrible ghosting effect, so it ends up hurting my eyes too much to bother with. It also seems to make the image slightly blurrier and dulls down the colors, so I'm not sure it entirely enhances the visuals. I've read a lot of fans say that "it helps you judge distances", but I specifically experimented with this in Mario 3D Land and I don't think it made any difference. I was able to judge distances perfectly fine with or without it, so I'm not entirely convinced people have actually experienced this (perhaps it's just one of those standard fanboyish soundbites). I also find it quite distracting and therefore completely immersion breaking, not just because I'm always aware of the effect, but I'm always thinking "should I put it higher, or lower, or off or on, etc." So yeah, it's a cool effect, but I don't really care about it and it's often more trouble than it's worth for me.

Maybe the 3D's greatest achievement is that it's made Nintendo fans say things like "it enhances gameplay!" and "I can't go back to playing games in 2D!" when they're usually criticizing others for their focus on graphics.

I use it when it compliments the game like ALBW and 3D Land but outside of that I choose not to simply because Im rarely in a situation when playing my 3DS when I dont have to look up every so often and its annoying to keep readjusting my eyes.

I don't dislike it I just never use it. I've had my 3DS XL for a few months now and I almost never find myself using the 3D feature.
