Topic: Steamworld Heist

Just finished the game today. Fantastic. Valentine is best Steambot. Probably gonna go back and finish those challenge missions to unlock the cool stuff. I need that cone hat, lol.

@MasterWario: I pretty much stuck with the Captain, Seabrass, and Ivanski the whole way through. For those random 4 bot missions I'd rotate between anyone else.

@nf_2: Everyone seems to like Ivanski, but he's my least favorite. I guess he just looks too awkward for me, holding that dumbbell the entire time.

For me it was a rotation between the Captain Piper, Seabrass, Bea, Valentine, and Payrole. Wasn't sure I'd like Payrole, but he's incredibly useful in tight situations thanks to run 'n gun. Seabrass is awesome for reasons everyone knows because they are forced to use him, and since I don't like Ivanski, Bea is the other heavy gun user. I do like Bea for the whole army mentality too, but I definitely wouldn't have used her much if I had other heavy users.

And then Valentine is awesome because you've got this old geezer of a Steambot who wants to get out there on an adventure, tells bad puns, and is a mean sniper. Everything about his character is awesome to me, except his default hat. Gave him the crown. Fits him well.

I would like to use Billy in the future though.

Can't remember the names. But I've mostly stuck with Piper, the weight lifting dude, and the one who heals 1 HP every turn.

I'm surprised no one said Sally. She's one of the most powerful with her bounty hunter skills. She can take 2 enemies out per turn. She's my favorite but i like to level everyone across the board. I finished with everyone at level 9. My next 2 would be Payroll and Billy. Love to do a hit and run with Billy plus he's a melee beast. He can hit for 24 damage or more in one turn with proper equipment.

@Spoony_Tech: I wanted to use Sally more, but somehow she slipped under the radar and was like level 2 when everyone was 5. I thought I had used her more but I guess I just used Valentine too much.

I've been keeping everyone at the same level and I'm enjoying playing with them all. What a great game.

Beat this on veteran a few days ago with all stars. I don't see myself playing this on the highest difficulty anytime soon. The only real thing left to do is collect all the hats but even then they appear at random. A few I've seen that were rather unique didn't appear till I was on the verge of death and had to make a run for it.

I finished the game for the first time a couple of days ago and started my second playthrough right away. I found the game to be a bit too easy on the difficulty I was playing the first time through (experienced, failed 5 missions, didn't replay missions once I got all the stars) so now I cranked the difficulty to max by choosing the hardest difficulty. I finished the second mission with both bots alive but they had 1 hp left. Tried the third mission and Sally died because I moved too close in order to get a double kill only to discover that she didn't have the ability yet. After that I survived with Piper until the alarm went off and then got killed because there was no way to escape once the newly spawned enemies blocked the way. Seems like I need to find better gear and level up my characters.

I just completed my second playthrough. I got all the stars from all the missions on the hardest difficulty and now I don't have anything to do anymore aside from collecting hats, I guess. The game is awesome but I don't think I'll be collecting all the hats since they appear randomly and there ain't a guide for the game yet. I would've liked to know where the hats are so I don't have to play the same missions over and over to realize there ain't any hats I need. Even the hardest difficulty wasn't quite as hard as I hoped for but it was fair unlike Fire Emblem. There were some nice references to other games, anime, etc. along the way like an item called Power Gloves and hats named Maximilian (Mutant Mudds), Coffee-Stained Simulator Hat (Goat Simulator), Sparkling Hair! (I believe it's Goku's hair from Dragon Ball). I know there's a Mario hat but I couldn't find it. My total play time according to my activity log is 35 hours. It was fun while it lasted but I think I have to move onto the next game.

SteamWorld Heist's physical release has been delayed in North America until November 1st.
