@MERG
The weapons with a scope on them have the laser sight. It's quite clear on the icons which those are!
And yes, it does build! (to answer my earlier question) The more and more weapons and enemy types that are added do create a strong need for strategy. I also like the difficulty level. I've died quite a few times on normal difficulty already.
@Dezzy: died as in had to start all over again? I have done so twice. Not knowing what lies behind a door can get you killed. I've also learned to not open more then one door at a time not knowing what lies ahead lol. I do like the risk reward this game offers!

The hat mechanic in this game is fantastic! As someone who's really into collectibles, the hats really hype up the game for me, like "I'm so excited for the next level to see what hats I can get!". They also made an, imo, excellent decision to make the exact mission layout randomly generated each time. It's one of the reasons I liked Pikmin 2 so much and continue to play it to this day.
Although I'm really bugged, there was one mission where one of the scrappers was wearing this blue+yellow hat and I cannot, for my life figure out which mission that was...I know I saw it, and I remember not getting it because I was getting by on the skin of my teeth.

@Dezzy: @ThomasBW84 said in his review it took about 14 hours but he also said he skipped the challenges and raced to the end. He also drop a difficulty if need be to get the review up.

I just got this yesterday, seeing as I loved Codename STEAM, and the steam mechanic acts works pretty well the same, except no overwatch attacks. I like it quite a bit, with all the different robots and guns. I like Ivanksi, the big bot with the big motherboard ( I can't think of a good equivalent of a robot heart). Getting rare items really makes all the swag worth going for.
My only complaint with this game, cos I'm loving most of it, is they could've done more with the story. I do appreciate it's quite hard to tell a good story in a strategy RPG though as you constantly need to come up with excuses for battles.
I just finished the game in around 10 hours. Definitely fun, but by the last couple missions I just felt like it was really repetitive. I'm not really sure what changed, but it just felt like a drag towards the end. Still a really good game, but I don't feel like the game justifies the price as it stands.
I like this game a lot. Also, my GF loves the guy singing in the bars, particularly the first bar. And I like the Green Mario hat. Nice little touch. This really is a fun game.
@nf_2: @Spoony_Tech: So given that time frame, is the third area the last one? Or is there one more after? I really like the game but I'm upset how the hats are at the third area.
Man wish I found the green Mario hat.

Even though it's longer, I still get the same quite restricted feeling as I did with Dig. These guys are so great at perfecting the mechanics of a game. I really want to see them take that further into a bigger experience. Something with a big story and epic setup. Nintendo should hire them to do something like that.
You get the sense they could really make a brilliant full price retail game.
What do you mean? That they consider this equivalent to a full price retail game?
Ok, well I guess it nearly is.
But I mean something much bigger. Something that you'd consider AAA, on the scale of your average first party Nintendo game. That's what these guys need to be given the opportunity to do.
That said, I realize that comes with a different level of risk. Maybe it's more desirable to just be one of the better indies.
