The thing about the second point is that they don't need to be clasified as anything but speculation, so it doesn't work that way. Just as it isn't anyone's job to prove them fake, no one here has the obligation nor the authority to prove them real. I don't see people basing a discussion on their legit existence, just saying that according to them, there's no reason to consider them fake. Others are quite sure that they are fake because of the points already discussed, wich has no point to me, but they are in their right to do it. Some say they want them to be real, others hate the designs and that's pretty much about what it should be about to me, always talking of it being a possibility without assuring trhem as fake or real, because there's no point in it.
@roy130390 I agree with you, although I still think we should consider all leaks as fake until proven otherwise to stop the discussion of whether they are real or not.
Some of you are that skeptical and pessimistic? I'm the type that likes to speculate, and instead of ruling something off as fake from the get go, I just apply heavy salt but also stay extremely open to the idea of it not being fake. The general artstyle and quirkiness of the leak in question matches the same quirkiness and style in the ORAS concept art that came with my copy of the ORAS Pokedex strategy guide. Could it be fake? Of course, but there isn't any proof for or against. Everyone right now is just assuming, and shaming people for not being as cynical.
Like, I don't understand the need to shame people for being wide open to the possibility that it might not be fake. So what if it is? Is being right THAT important? At the end of the day it doesn't matter. What matters is how you treat your fellow humans. Like, let other people have their opinions.
I can understand the sentiment behind wanting to discuss something other than the validity of a continuous stream of supposed 'leaks', but when concrete news in thin on the ground, I think it's almost inevitable that we end up chewing the fat in this way.
As far as how to treat them (i.e. fake until proven real/real until proven fake), I almost think it doesn't matter; it's probably best to just consider them as... well, drawings, for the time being. As I've said, I personally don't THINK they're real, but I don't think it's necessary to really 'treat' them one way or the other. Other people may think the opposite, but we can safely hold both opposing opinions without any real fallout; it's not like our opinions will actually have any consequences with respect to the final game.
Still, such 'leaks' can provide food for thought, and a basis for discussion. For example, I also hope Litten's 3VO remains on four paws, and turns into something elegant and regal rather than smashy and macho. We've had quite a few standing punching/kicking machines in the fire type line previously, but nothing properly four legged. I'm ready for something a little less humanoid.
I don't think it is about being right or wrong. Assuming fake until proven real keeps conversations in check. If every fake was treated as real then there would be endless debates and discussions about things that aren't actually real. You can be skeptical, and you can think it is real, but for discussion purposes, fake until proven real is the easiest way to keep conversations clear
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
@DefHalan It doesn't matter if you're discussing something that turns out not to be real. Speculation is still fun and comes with being a fan of something. Besides, we're in a dry spell until the 14th, so there isn't any harm in discussing potential "leaks".
Anyway, I'd hope that Popplio would get a final evolution like the one in the ""leaks"". It looks so majestic and not clown like. That evolution would honestly make me pick Popplio in a heartbeat, and its been three generations since a water type starter looked really appealing to me.
@BlatantlyHeroic Discussion is fine, and speculation is fun. Trying to tell everyone these leaks are real just because you want them to be doesn't make it true. Leaks should be considered fake until proven real. Doesn't mean you can't talk about them or make comments like your second paragraph. Trying to convince everyone a leak is real when it hasn't been proven is the problem the NX is going through right now, but Pokemon doesn't have to go through that. Nothing should go through that.

i can't wait for the Treehouse live thing on Tuesday. I wonder what they will show on the stream. Only 5 months and 9 days to this comes in NA (5 months & 14 days for Europe). All of my kids are excited for this game.
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword

Thank you for elaborating the point in a better way than I could!
Rule of thumb for Pokemon: if Serebii hasn't reported on it, consider it fake.
Not a good rule, they stated a new policy stating that they will no longer report on leaks after receiving a cease and desist for reporting on gen 5 leaks.
Hence why they didn't update the site after the big gen 6 leak that happens.
And since then not one leak serebii didn't post ever was true. Everything serebii posted was confirmed and anything not posted was confirmed fake at some point.
There are several ways to identify a leak from the real deal, its not that hard to understand how licensing and trademarks on the content work. Employees are the only ones with access to the material, and they'll just get fired and the content shutdown instantly. The fact the leak wasn't shutdown alone due to legal and company policies is enough of an "evidence" if you want a method to prove fake.
for any Canadians, Amazon.ca has the new games down to $49.96 if anybody wanted to preorder them. Me, I'm waiting to see what E3 deal Amazon has before I preordered two copies of each version. Man my hype for this game is high even though I don't know alot about these games. Can't wait for tuesday to see what they will show on the Treehouse stream.

The CoroCoro scans are now in, and we have two new Pokemon to discuss! (Only Japanese names at this point)
Nekkoala
Half Awake Pokemon
Type: Normal
Ability: Definite Sleep - prevents it from being afflicted with a status other than sleep.
Iwanko
Puppy Pokemon
Type: Rock
Abilities: Keen Eye or Vital Spirit
Thoughts: I've always wanted a koala Pokemon, and now it looks like we finally have one. It's way too early to tell if this will be the obligatory common normal type at the beginning of the game though. I really hope it isn't.
As for Iwanko, an image in one of the scans indicates that it was the dog/Eevee-like Pokemon briefly spotted in a trailer a while back. I'm a little surprised that it's a rock type, but pleasantly so.
Just as well, as I'm getting sick of Normal type dogs.
I second this. I have no problem with it being a Rock type. Though to be fair, I think a Ground typing for Iwanko would make slightly more sense (dogs = digging).
Also, some very vague CoroCoro info that was added since my previous post: Apparently Rowlet, Litten, Popplio, and Iwanko all hide a secret. Maybe this is a hint that they evolve differently?
By my calculations, this brings us up to nine new Pokemon for Sun/Moon (including that wire frame bird). Only one left!
Edit: Modified my previous post to include updated translations of the Pokemon classifications.
