@Grumblevolcano Finally a reason to watch E3. I mean I plan on getting Zelda but it's not a big enough reason to watch Nintendo's Treehouse Live all day
According to Serebii you will be able to scan QR codes in order to read a Pokemon's data so you know where to find it and share them with a friend so it's registered in your Pokedex.
If so, QR codes being really frequent would make getting event Pokemon easier if they distributed them that way.

The QR thing looks pretty cool - they must have been sitting on that idea since Pokedex 3D. I think it provides more of an incentive to 'hunt down' a Pokemon if you've just scanned it than if you saw an in game trainer with one (or just saw one in the wild and couldn't be bothered to catch it).
I'd also like to inevitably register my surprise that Solgaleo isn't at all Fire, and Lunala is neither Dark nor Flying. I probably should have guessed Steel though, given by the strange, 'forged iron'-like marks on its lega. I'm not surprised that Lunala doesn't have the double 'a' though. That seemed more tied to the extended 'a' sound in the Japanese spelling.
Also, they have no excuse for linearity anymore now that they've introduced the Rotom Dex. The "kids get lost easily" line doesn't work anymore because the Rotom Dex tells them exactly where they're supposed to go.

Double A's are rare in the English language, that's not surprising at all.
Solgaleo is a Psychic and Steel type Pokemon? Ugh, what a disappointment... I was very sure it was going to have a fire type with it. Oh well, I'm still picking up Sun because the other legendary looks... awful. And the Rotom Pokedex... couldn't Aloha's engineers retain the original shape of the Pokedex instead of making it something with freakish hands? What, does every next gen thing have hands now?

Rotom is probably the reason it has hands. It's a living creature, so either Rotom spawned them when it inhabited the Pokedex or the developers designed it that way to emphasize its role as a personal assistant.
I love the idea of a Rotom Pokedex. There are so many things they can do with that. I would love if Rotom was able to tell you random things. Like jokes and stuff. I hope we can also buy clothes like last time.
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword

I guess Rotom provides the power as well as the "brain" for the Pokedex, then. But still, those hands are weird and there is probably no way to remove them or something. I'd prefer a normal Pokedex with Rotom as its brain and power instead of something that could count as a Pokemon itself. @DarthNocturnal Googly eyes are ok... as long as they retain the original shape!

No no noooo. The last thing I want is a more annoying Navi or whatever little robot was in Destiny.

@KO-Cub a Siri Pokedex could be very useful, though...
"Hey, Rotom! Fly me to [insert city's name here]'s Pokemon Center!"
"Hey, Rotom! Where can I get this Pokemon?"
"Hey, Rotom! Check whether my offer for trading Pokemon has been taken!"
Wow, the potentials for a Siri Pokedex is limitless...
I thought the GPS screen at the bottom tracking your movements was pretty interesting. And there were more videos of the trainers running around and new Alola locations — I really can't wait to explore the region. Although, even though there's five islands I'm afraid it might be too small and so far it looks desolate. But I'm till excited.
But I am with the others in being disappointed Solgaleo isn't Fire-type. And I'm a little disappointed in its name... I'm going with that legendary so I'll get over it, but I really hate that name. For me it's awkward to pronounce. Sole-gale-eeoh? Is that how it's said? Sole-gah-leyo?
@Vee_Flames And siri's replies would be:
"No results for die near the closest pokemon center"
"No results for where's your wallet"
"No results for if your bid on ebay was taken"
I like the rotom pokedex idea, one thing that I feel slowly slipped out of the franchise was the lack of interactivity with the pokemon, they're starting to feel like just files in your game than actual beings that interact with their world, something dpp did right with their mansion, drifloon, etc, the pokemon fit in with their natural environment. Putting that interactivity with a rotom and it's evolving surroundings is genius and hopefully there's more similar to it.
On another note, The overworld is probably the best overworld I've ever seen in the entire franchise. It looks so good and smooth. I'd compare it to pokemon XD or colosseum but let gritty due to the setting.
The legends are... now kinda disappointing... Lunala's ability is literally multiscale, and it's typing makes it a literal crappier lugia with more weaknesses, the only thing great about it is no specific entry hazard weakness. Solgaleo I never had interest in, and I lost a little more when I read it's not fire... like why? Seriously how is the "sun legend" not fire? It makes as much sense as making volcarona bug normal.. Even pyroar has a better purpose than it.
Their decision making for the types makes me feel uneasy about the rest of the pokemon's abilities and types.. but we'll see.
Curiously, has anybody seen any grass in these trailers yet?
Still a bit blurry, but I see snow, volcanic areas, some sort of spring area... I take back what I said, this region looks fun to explore. Reminds me a bit of Wind Waker...
Also, I think the island you start at is the second one from the left. So I wonder which route you take from that island? I'm guessing you go from there to the right, then loop around the to left most island, possibly where the legendaries are.
And I think I see another small island, obscured by clouds, towards the top right corner... Perhaps that could be where we'd find a special event Pokemon, like with Victini at Liberty Garden?
