Not really.

It's quite literally just a cheap way to allow the players to customize their Pokémon. Even in-universe it puzzles the characters.

They talk about it like it's completely separate from natural breeding (which definitely exists in this universe).

Double evolution starters deconfirmed.

In the TCG, lurantis-GX was revealed as #6 and we already know that Rowlet is #1.

Under this format, the first 6 would be
-Rowlet
-Dartrix
-3rd evo
-Fomantis
-Lurantis
-Lurantis-GX

@MegaBeedrill While i don't think there will be multiple final evolutions for starters, I don't think the TCG is enough evidence to confirm it. The other evolution could just not be in the first set of Sun & Moon TCG

Aw why are the new special Pokémon always released through gamestop.

The closest one to me is two states away. In a different country.

They might decide to release it through wifi at a later date like they have done with Hoopa.

Susposedly there are more scans for jangmo-o and type: null's evolutions. Type: null's evo even changes type based on items held.

So unconfirmed stuff, and Alolan Grimer. If that stuff about Type: Null and it's evo are true, that really does lead credence to the "failed Arceus clone" theory.

Also, expect to see Alolan Grimer and the Jangmo-o evolutions in Friday's trailer. You won't see the stuff about Type: Null though, as that's CoroCoro exclusive for right now.

Awesome that Jangmo-o is Dragon/Fighting, I had hoped for a unique typing. Thought maybe based on its design it could become Dragon/Steel but Fighting's even cooler.

Curiously, alolan meowth is standing behind grimer. Version exclusives? Maybe its just coincidence. I don't recall the persian and muk line ever having a relation in the past. (then again same for sandshrew and vulpix..)
